everyone chooses to make her the evil overprotective mom who comes between uwu hades and persephone. they take the hymn of demeter, which primarily focuses on the mother daughter relationship and then miss the point entirely. her daughter was literally kidnapped and married off and demeter would never fucking see her again!! i would freeze the entire world to death too.

i’ve seen some people talk about the myth of hades and persephone in relation to the context of ancient greek culture, where girls were treated as property and married off and never saw their mothers again. and this is a myth where that happens, but the mother is able to fight and PARTIALLY WIN!! she gets her daughter back for half the year!!! she loved her daughter so much that she was willing to do whatever it took!!!

she saved the world but in the process she was kind of mean to the male mc so everyone hates her

eva stratt is portrayed as less emotional and a leader who has to make hard choices. she is boiled down to a mean, heartless woman who betrayed the main character despite the fact that similar male characters are praised.
