Spring Flea Market
The East Fourth Street Community Garden is hosting its spring flea market fundraiser on Saturday, May 2 (9am-3pm) and Sunday, May 3 (10am-4pm).
Come check out an abundance of riches all priced to sell! You’ll find clothing for the whole family, toys, books, housewares, and more.
Proceeds fund the garden’s operations and special events.
Bluegrass on the Green Grass
Open Bluegrass jam session for all skill levels and ages. Everyone is welcome!

Bystander Intervention Training

The garden is hosting a community Bystander Intervention Training, as provided by the NYC Human Rights Commission. Bystander intervention is built on the idea that we all play a role in creating safe public spaces for each other when we see our neighbors and community members facing bias, discrimination, or harassment.
Buzz, Buzz, Bloom: An Eco-Dance Event
October 25, 2025: 1:00pm - 2:00pm
A playful performance art, animated sculpture dance about the interconnected relationships between bees, flowers and us.

Sundays: 10am - 2pm
Hurray for our FREE hops harvest festival! We start picking cones at 10:30 on Saturday, followed by a cyanotype workshop for kids at noon and our last bluegrass jam at 1pm. We'll also host a ukulele lesson from 10 to noon.
Ukulele Lesson at 10am: The workshop is designed for adults and older kids who are keen to learn or already dabbling in playing the ukulele and would benefit from a supportive community.
Harvest at 10:30am: Pitch in with our annual harvesting of the hops while learning about the brewing process.
Cyanotype Workshop at 12pm: Cyanotype is a camera-less photographic printing process that creates an image using the sun. It was popularized by English botanist and photographer Anna Atkins.
Bluegrass at 1pm: Bring your guitar, ukulele, banjo, etc., and join in! All skill levels and ages are welcome. Kids are invited to dance along and possibly even touch the instruments after the session.
