hey! i love the fest, tysm for hosting it :D i have some questions (sorry if you've answered them already). can more than one person claim the same prompt? in the same vein, will prompts/claimed prompts be avaliable to claim after the fest is over?

So sorry for the slow response—real life has been a bit crazy. While originally we’d said only one person per prompt, at this point I’d say it’s okay for two people if it hasn’t already been fulfilled and it’s one of the more open-ended ones. I do want to have prompts available after the fest but haven’t figured out exactly what that will look like yet. –Elizabeth

Hi, I have a question about self-prompts. The rules say that "prompting is open until January 14 (excluding self-prompts)." When is the final day for submitting a self-prompt?

We haven’t set a hard deadline for self-prompts but I’d encourage you to do it sooner rather than later or at least message us with some of the ideas you’re thinking about so we can make sure it will fit the requirements for the fest.

Can I write a rape/non-con request as dub-con? I don’t feel comfortable writing something that intense. And would I mark the warnings as rape/non-con? Or just tag dub-con? Thanks!

In order for something to qualify for the fest, it does have to be intense in some aspect as it is for dead doves. However, if you dm with the prompt you’re thinking about, I’m happy to brainstorm with you about ways you could write it that still meet the entry requirements but are within your comfort zone. -Elizabeth

hi! what constitutes “mind break”?

Hi there!

Mind break is when a person is abused to the point that they become brainwashed/lose their sanity and begin to welcome their abuse or become apathetic to it. The end result is a character who no longer resembles their former self and is either a shell of a person or has been moulded into a different person by their abuser.

There are a few other definitions out there, but I think this is generally what people mean when it’s applied to fic (and what we mean with regards to the fest).
