Where Mortals Fear to Tread..... turned 7 today!
Catching up
It gas been a long time since I have posted. I am now 185lbs and about a size 12/14 ...A size I haven't seen since I was in 9th grade. I went to Cuba this year and finally by my friends' standards have a real stamp in my passport. Lol! I miss my sister-friend Karin so much. Not having her here to share this journey feels so wrong. I pray that I will be able to tell her everything even how much my heart hurts from missing her. I have hone out with a couple of guys but none of them found me attractive enough for lack of a better term to pursue anything substantial and while I respect their choice, I want someone to be my HEA with the good and bad.
For me, this isn’t about her, personally.
For me, this is about the profound hypocrisy of the so-called conservatives who never want to spend any tax money to actually help make our country and the people who live in it a little better, never want to actually invest money in education, infrastructure, public health, or any of the things that will have enormous benefits for all Americans, but don’t say a single thing about this totally unnecessary waste of money.
Donald Trump will be the next president, and the American consumer may be left on their own. During the election cycle, the candidates’ views on consumer protection were buried under other more hot-button issues. Despite consumer protection’s relevance to everyone – case in point: a massive banking
I pray that my fear and misgivings about this new administration is wrong, but if this article is true, it is not starting well.
7/26/16 209lbs 105 lbs down. I am now a size 16 which I haven't been since High School. It has been a challenge sticking to clean eating because I now have no restrictions and thankfully don't have any food intolerances. It is now all dependent on my discipline (yikes! Lol). I have more good days than bad when it comes to food choices so it is still a win.
254lbs I have two functions tonight and am wearing a dress and heels! Well, they are low wedges, but it is a heel for me. LOL! I have also become selfie crazy. Hehe!
2/24 255lbs. I bought this new bathing suit to resume my aqua boot camp class (S'Wet by Jennifer Lynn fitness awesome!) The suit is a size 20. I haven't been a size 20 since college which was over 20 years ago. I am so happy and already feel the difference. I still have about 75lbs to go but I am encouraged. I have also restarted the gym with my friend Lorraine. Now the hard work really begins.
Today Feb 21st 258lbs. 56lbs down and feeling good!

NYE 2015- It started out a little rough because this was my first NYE in MANY years that I wasn’t celebrating it with my best friend Karin who passed away. But it turned out to be a great night because my friend Ivan threw a nice low-key party in his new home. I was so blessed to go. This is 27 days post-surgery and I am a size 22 (down from a 26/28) and 26 lbs lighter. My diet is still restricted, I can now have ground turkey, eggs, crackers (woo Hoo!), well cooked veggies, soft fruit (melons, fruit in a can) and white-fleshed fish. Here’s to a great beginning of 2016!
hi Tumblr All the best Tara Jefferson
This was taken on December 4th before I entered Gastric Sleeve Surgery. What prompted this journey? Well, about 7 months ago, I lost my best friend unexpectedly ( healthy, beautiful, thin) and I was diagnosed diabetic and with high blood pressure. I knew it was only a matter of very short time that my friends and family would be mourning me if I didn’t make a drastic change. I had considered gastric sleeve surgery in 2013, but a combo of cold feet, missing one of my mandatory weigh-ins, and health issues with my mom caused me to stop the process. I started this very long process at 314lbs (go up to as much as 323-hello stress/grief eating) and walked into surgery at 300lbs. The day of surgery and the day after sucked ass--gas pain so bad I couldn’t even get a spoonful of broth down without taking percoset, incision pain. Day three, I turned a corner and it stopped sucking so badly. It also improved when I moved to puree foods (who knew greek yogurt and protein shakes could be so delicious?!!? LOL). Now, I am at Day 5 post-op and while I am still dealing with gas pain, I am getting better each day. I am looking forward to getting a crock pot and Vitamix I am borrowing from my friend so I can dive into some yummy soups. Stay Tuned campers while I document my steps in this lifetime journey.
My mom’s friend adopted this lovely dog after he was abandoned by his previous family. His name is Shaun. Shaun had always been very good at eating all his food. Every last bit that was, he ate it. One day he started leaving a little bit behind. He wouldn’t eat everything, no matter what. He always left a little behind. Every morning when my mom’s friend checked Shaun’s bowl, the food was gone. That was very strange, because Shaun always spent the night by her side. One night she decided to investigate the food situation. She waited quietly by the food bowl and then, in the middle of the night, a cat came through the window and ate the remaining food. She noticed the cat was actually pregnant. A week or so later the cat came into her house and gave birth to 6 little kittens. Shaun took care of them as if they were his own babies. My mom’s friend adopted the cat too (her name is Meow) and they took care of the kittens until they all found a loving home. Nowadays Meow and Shaun live happily together as a family and they each have their little bowl of food.
