In the woodlands by the national park by Piotrek & Jarek Via Flickr: For quite some time I was interested in peat railways. They are abundant in many countries around Poland, but for some reason, almost all of the ones from my home country died out. There are a few remaining exceptions and the longest operating railroad as of now seems to be the one in Krakulice. The village of Krakulice is located in Northern Poland, just under 10km from the Baltic sea and on the very outskirts of the Słowiński National Park. The park is known for its wandering sand dunes and a large peatland, which is now in part being axploited for peat by the company Agaris Poland. The company uses a 600mm railroad for transport with a fleet of 4-6 locomotives, the oldest of which are the class WLs40 locos 12990 and 13000 from the year 1958. They ride on even older rails, from the steelworks Union (1900) and Krupp (1909). Today I haven't had much stuff to do and decided to pop by and finally have a visit on a "real" narrow gauge railroad. After some waiting time, the WLs40-13000 exited the peatland and I chased the train on foot throughout its 3,5km long journey. The border of the aformentioned national park lies just meters away to the right of the locomotive. Photo by Piotrek/Toprus
It's day 2 of my 100 day challenge, have some start photos/a weigh in!
This is my lowest weight EVER and I'm feeling so motivated to see how far I can get 💪
HWS Wales’ Canon Characterisation and Relationships
I went through some of the strips that Wales has appeared in World Stars and took some notes. I thought I would share them for anyone interested with some additional thoughts. Apologies for anything incoherent or repetitive!
The Basics;
- ‘Fantastical’ imagination
- Has an ‘obsession with dragons’
- Generally pretty cheerful
- Despite this Wales can be quite sensitive and temperamental;
Claiming King Arthur is a touchy subject for him
Is quite conflict avoidant and aware of awkwardness in conversation (England states he is thick-skinned implying he thinks that Wales can be thin-skinned)
Has an angry glare
Easily sobs (though this applies to most characters in Hetalia)
Not above getting visibly frustrated and calling his brothers idiots
Cares about being recognised, which he feels he often doesn’t receive, and being respected/respectable. Likes the fancy things and the idea of being fancy
- Apparently usually quiet and prefers staying home
- Can make the longbow he has hanging in the house magically shake with his strong enthusiasm (reference to medieval Wales’* notable expertise with longbows which would directly influence England’s longbow use)
- Gets specific food cravings at times
- Can teleport???? (Appeared suddenly in the flying mint bunny origin extra startling England and Nire)
1979.
A racist demands equal time.
what came first, the chicken or the egg (salad)?
