so...I started and completed gachiakuta. the character design, world-building, art, stylistic choices, it's all quite literally the coolest I've seen in manga recently. I think with the combination of that edgy/gritty/grungy aesthetic and the heavily unique expression urana employs is the baddest thing I've seen as of late.

the plot, too, is so original, that everything, and all of this combined, makes it solid competition for the next huge thing. almost without a doubt. and everything about it is so refreshing to see in a shonen as someone that doesn't consume much shonen these days.

I was quite literally blown away by, not only how cool the characters are, but also the diversity as well! urana even goes out of her way to design them with different names of different origins. I love the character design so much because of that. it really goes to show how much thought she puts into such a diverse world.

also... I was pleasantly surprised that it's actually...well, funny. I think it's the combination of the art style in unserious moments, but urana actually has...humor!!! in a shonen! when shonen comedy is usually, well, um, not that funny because the humor tends to be just fan service or something really brain dead and not funny unless you're 7 years old! but there have been multiple occasions when I was reading gachiatuka and laughed out loud because something is so absurd it actually gets me. or the facial expressions urana draws are so insane I just have to laugh.

not to mention, the "peak cinema" meme she literally put into her manga LMFAOOOO. SHE'S SO UNSERIOUS! urana has quickly become my favorite mangaka because not only is she a creative in a male-centered industry who's created possibly the sickest, grittiest, fun series in recent times, but also....because she has red hair and wears doc martens. (which I do too. LMAO. I LOVE HERRRR)

(also, side note....rudo reminds me a lot of toshiro from bleach appearance-wise so maybe that's why I subconsciously like him more compared to other shonen protaganists...???? lmao...he's a prodigy w a sour face and has nothing but revenge on his mind soooo...twins I guess. bc also toshiro has always been MY protagonist LMFAOOO)

I've been seeing/hearing so much about the fellow girlies being into a very popular game called love and deepspace (otome romance simulator w attractive men). while I'm not interested in actually playing it, I was curious on the lore of the characters since there are actually stories behind each of the love interests.

so one can imagine my surprise when one of them...is literally hitsuhina-coded...? as hell?

I'm talking about a character named caleb.

of course, in a lot of romance, (especially in anime/manga) common is the "childhood friend" as a love interest, which is no different in a romance simulator game for women. caleb is this: the childhood friend. he doesn't bear much similarity to hitsugaya appearance-wise, mind you, but what is similar, is the lore between the player and caleb.

okay...typical childhood friend material: a history is established. a connection which transcends a simple platonic dynamic because of it.

but see the lines here: "[...] values safety and protection above all else". "[...] truly only safe by his side and that he can protect her from harm's way."

okay whatever, childhood friend, cold guy is soft for girl, nothing out of the ordinary for that, right?

please be so serious. it does makes me wonder if one of the writers on this game was inspired, even a little bit, by hitsuhina. like please out yourself right now so I can give you the biggest basket of fruits on god's green earth.
