I watched the Trump press conference and yeah, it's bad. They're going to occupy Venezuela and not hand over power to any Venezuelans (not even the opposition, in fact said that they just don't have the respect of the people), have military troops on the ground for an indefinite amount of time, hand all the oil to American companies and will "rebuild" the infrastructure (basically just establishing a system in which Venezuela will be dependent on oil companies) - basically all the marks of making Venezuela a direct puppet state of the US. Not only that but they just up and kidnapped a world leader, and terrified the Venezuelan people in the middle of the night. This isn't liberation. This isn't about narcotraffic. This is about acquiring natural resources and strongarming Latin America by any means necessary.
