me: “I have social anxiety”
what people hear: “I am a bit shy”
what the internet reads: “OwO cute shy boi,,must protecc!! hehe so quirky!1!!”
what social anxiety really is: taking months of knowing someone to feel comfortable enough to have a real conversation, your mind going blank during small talk, inability to participate in groups of more than three people, mentally rehearsing “simple” tasks such as ordering food or making a phone call and your heart racing anyway, constantly feeling watched, being afraid of getting places too early or too late, fear of being judged over the most random things (”is this a socially acceptable ice cream flavor to buy?” “what if they think my shampoo is weird” “will they hate me if I get up to throw my trash away?” “what if I emptied the dishwasher wrong!”), having panic attacks when you have to ask a teacher for help, constantly feeling left out or excluded even with friends, your hands shaking when you get called on in class, being overwhelmed in crowds and public transportation, disliking being touched, perpetual fear of disappointing those in authority, overall difficulty forming relationships, missing out on milestones or social events because you either have no friends to go with or know it will be overwhelming, preferring to be in groups of three so that conversation isn’t solely up to you, making so many everyday tasks so much more difficult than they need to be due to a crushing fear of being judged by random strangers you will literally never see again and needing to be seen as flawless
lil before and after of my study ✨
didn’t want to do too much with it as I’m moving out in seprember but i think it has a lot more personality now!!
be with people who make you feel like yourself. be with people who have never judged you for your flaws. with those who make flowers bloom in your chest, with those who feel like a warm blanket. they'll always cherish you. ♡

What are some ways that you practice self care?
goood morning! ☁️ I have my online lab in like 10 minutes but I'm still messing around on YouTube haha. I allowed myself to have a chai latte tho... as a treat 😌
been having a lot of trouble fixing my sleep schedule, especially when it's so easy to stay up all night and sleep in. but I want to be more productive with my time rather than waking up at 2pm and having half of my day already gone. any tips?

Still munching on mums cupcakes, drinking iced coffee and catching up on Uni work✌🏻
Online classes are working for me, I’m starting to catch up on all the classes I missed earlier this semester and it’s getting easier for me. Spring has begun and the sun really energizes me! My plants also love it and my monstera is giving me a new leaf.
Please stay home if you can and be safe everyone!

2020 quarantine challenge: take a picture of your desk/study space
ngl i feel like all my posts so far have been of my same desk, and self isolation isn’t helping with that lmao. however, i’m very excited to join this challenge (although a bit late)!! today my classes will finally be resuming after two weeks of break, and i can’t wait to finish this semester 🤠
okay, it makes me feel extremely guilty and makes me want to vomit to have to post this but here we go!
I work at an essential business and I’m very grateful to still have a job at all, but my hours are being cut and a lot of expenses are coming up that I really need help with. I don’t like to talk about my family life too in depth on here, but a lot has happened in the last 6 or so months so I’m going to try to tell you guys as much as I’m comfortable with sharing. My grandmother got an eviction notice back in November because she owed back rent because of financial trouble, and she managed to come up with a plan to pay it all back so she doesn’t have to move. This is where I come in: I’ve been giving her $300-400 each month since November, and it all has to be paid at the beginning of the month. Thankfully, I won’t have to help her after July because she’ll be all caught up then and she’ll be okay moving forward. All of this has been kind of hard for me but doable until recently when my hours started being cut. Right now, I’m giving her money, paying both of our phone bills, paying for my groceries, paying for gas, and now trying to pay the tuition and housing deposits for school, while making about half of what I normally do. As a lot of you know, I’m starting college in the fall. With that comes a lot of deposits and fees being due. I have to give my school $500; $200 for an enrollment deposit, and $300 for a housing deposits. I had trips coming up this month that I paid for with my tax return a few months ago that were cancelled due to coronavirus and while I got some of that money back, I lost a lot of money because I booked nonrefundable plane tickets, which means I was only able to get airline credit back and not actual money for those cancelled flights. Again, I seriously hate to be asking this and it hurts me to have to but if you can help in any way it would be so so appreciated. Everything is just really confusing and stressful and hard right now and I love you guys.

02.04.2020 | I decided to study at the comfort of my bed today. Why Slytherin colors are so pretty?
hello i am your reminder that everything will work out and you can be successful without following every step or walking the same path as someone else. i went through high school as a very average student who hated being in school. i spent most of the past four years doing volunteer work, writing, and working different jobs. i got into amazing schools because i showed those parts of me the most in my applications. those schools saw who i actually was not just the perfect student i was trying to be. everyone defines and reaches success in their own way. remember that.
you do things despite feeling afraid. you get out of bed when your mind aches. you ask for help when you need it and try not to stay inside all day. you try to talk yourself out of bad choices. you search for the good things and beauty that are hard to notice. you tell yourself that things will get better, despite feeling otherwise. you treat yourself gently, even though you’re never far from wanting to return to square one. you try your best despite feeling tired. you’ve come a long way from where you started. you want to heal and you’re getting there. that’s something to be proud of.

Even if you feel like you have nothing to offer, you’re still allowed to be here. Your existence and value are not dependent on what you can do for other people.
