there was a laugh to escape her lips as he spoke. “definitely the red hair.” truthfully, it was nice to just speak to someone again, nice to connect with someone from her past. she’d tried to reach out through the force to find obi wan, to find anyone else who she had been close to, but truthfully, she hadn’t even been quite sure who she lost on that fateful day. hearing his updates, hearing about the life he led after the purge, she let him have his time to speak. she was sure that no jedi’s life was easy. not in the current climate of the empire’s reign. nothing was ever simple anymore.
“well, that sounds… like quite the adventure. any brush with the inquisitors isn’t exactly easy. i’m glad you made it out okay.” ahsoka had questions —— she wanted to ask about his experience, about anything he’d seen, about - …there was a sigh to escape her lips, quickly dismissing the thought. all of the questions nagged in her mind, but she pushed them down, focusing on his words instead. “i’ve been alone for a while. after everything, after order 66, i laid low for a bit. i was with my friend rex, and well - we parted ways for a bit and now i’ve been alone. it’s helped, somewhat. i’ve been trying to find peace in a world that’s filled with… anything but that.” she tried to smile, but it was lost as she moved to meet his eyes again.
“it’s smart of you to come alone.” a beat. “i truthfully didn’t think that i’d find a jedi out here. but it’s nice to see you. i’m glad you’re safe.” ahsoka’s life hadn’t been completely eventful – there had been things she wasn’t exactly proud of, but yet she was still standing. “i’ve tried to keep myself under the radar. i’ve had my battles. and as much as i’d like to say that those battles are over, i think you and i both know it’s not that simple.” with a pause, ahsoka looked out at their surroundings for a moment, attempting to find the right words. “did you come here for something? did you hope to find something here?”

"I went into hiding as well. I'm glad you had someone. It makes this all less. . .lonesome." and perhaps, more time on his own would've ended up in tragedy. he had been a padawan, and his powers were still unbounded.
Cal takes a moment to sit down in one of the forest logs, she did not invite him to do so, but he figures, if they were to talk, best to do it quietly, over a shared fire. He, however, keeps the lightsaber attached to his waist, remembering his master's lessons. that lightsaber is your life. "I'm hardly a Jedi. Master Cere Junda found me. Finished my training. . .but I'm not sure how much that's worth without the Council." In fact, he holds on to the titles of Jedi with dear life but he isn't sure how much meaning they have.
