Rumours had been going around for a few weeks that someone important would be visiting Niima outpost, but the more days that came and went, the less and less Rey believed the rumours. It didn't matter to her anyway, it's not like this 'important' person would make any real difference in any of their lives, and she refused to allow herself any hope that they would. If they ever actually came, that is, which she seriously doubted at this point.

She returned from a day of work when she noticed the crowd of other scavengers gathering near Plutt's hut. Someone probably managed to find some rare part that everyone wanted to get a look at or find out how many portions Plutt would give for it. Rey continued with pulling what she had found in the day from her broken down speeder, ignoring the fuss until she heard someone say, "it's Senator Ben Organa." She abruptly stopped what she was doing, a fuzzy memory at best, coming back to her, all but a flash of a young boy being introduced to her as Ben Organa-Solo. Another memory, fuzzier than the last returning soon after the first, of her playing with the same boy in a rather grand looking room. Perhaps a childhood friend from the childhood before she was left on Jakku that she practically had no clear memory of.

Her brows furrow as she immediately turns to move away from her speeder and push through the growing crowd to get to the front and see the stranger for herself. An immediate sense of familiarity hitting her when her eyes land on Ben standing there, but she couldn't place how or even why she knew him; all she had were those two very faint memories of him.  

❝ Ben? ❞ Rey's voice filled with uncertainty as the name leaves her lips. She's been on Jakku since she was seven. There's a very good chance that he would not remember her at all, and she wouldn't even be able to tell him how she knew him if he asked. She wasn't even sure if the memories were real, but she didn't have them before she heard that name. In the seventeen years she's been on Jakku; she hasn't had a new memory of her life before. That fact alone told her that this was different.

     “ kriffing Be--! ” he can’t even finish speaking , let alone register what’s happening . his back hits the wall , and he feels the press of his spine against durasteel as he arches up , mouth falling open under Ben’s incessant one until his fingers are in dark strands of hair , tangling in and holding as he kisses back .

     “ -- B-Ben I --- ah --- what --? ” he tries to get a question out between the frenzy of kissing , but his fingers are tightening and he’s pressing more against Ben , breathing heavier . his brain fogs out a little , his head spinning as he just takes in everything that is Ben .

Luke and Leia stared up at their Uncle Ben with big,  wet eyes;  each clutching handfuls of his tunic.  Had he changed clothes,  Leia wondered with a frown,  That was weird,  this whole day had been weird and she didn’t like it at all. 

“We didn’t mean to get lost!  I swear!  We just wanted to see what was in the other room and then it got really bright and really loud and we were here.”   Luke spoke fast,  words tumbling into each other,  finally ending with a loud sniffle.  He didn’t even know where here was other than it was outside and there were a lot of soldiers and it was very much not the dusty old temple Uncle Ben had taken them to. 

Leia glanced around suspiciously before looking back up at her uncle,  she leaned up on her tiptoes and tried to tug him down and whispered.   “We didn’t tell them anything.”

                    the   knight   lets   out   a   deceptively   adorable   giggle   ,   head   shaking   in   amusement   as   she   casually   twirls   her   double   sided   red   lightsaber   ,    ❛   now   ,   i   never   said   that .   ❜    she   replies   ,   laughter   still   echoing   in   her   vocal   tone .     she   takes   pride   in   her   skills   ,   whether   it’s   real   battle   or   training   like   this   is   irrelevant   ,   and   she’s   vicious   no   matter   who   she’s   fighting .     she   enjoys   causing   pain   and   suffering   in   all   ,   even   her   colleagues .     surprisingly   bright   blue   eyes   seem   to   grow   even   lighter   with   the   anticipation   ,   excitement   ,   of   the   situation .     she’s   looking   forward   to   this   ,   clearly .     unsettling   smile   remains   upon   her   freckled   features   as   she   gives   her   fellow   knight   a   once   over   ,    ❛   i   can   take   it   ,   i   promise .   ❜

     he looks a little startled , mainly from the outburst from the other , before his fingers reach . gently , he runs them through Ben’s hair , only to pull him in close before he nuzzles against his neck in a soothing gesture . “ but I’m here now . a little banged up , a little bruised .. but here . ” he still has a long way to go in remembering anything about himself , but lately he seems so much more .. human , and less weapon . maybe it’s because he’s around Ben , and not constantly being wiped .

     he draws in a slow breath , one that makes his ribs creak internally in protest as he tries not to wince too hard about it . he’s sore , but that’s what he gets for going out on his own to patrol the perimeter . “ we’re safe now , that’s all that matters . no one knows where we are . ”

it  takes  her  a  good  minute  to  answer.    not  because  she  didn't  hear,  or  she  didn't  know  how  to  reply,  but  emily  was  lost  in  her  own  thoughts.    quickly  glancing  at  spencer,  she  shakes  her  head,  hoping  that's  good  enough  of  an  answer  to  him.    she  sure  didn't  want  to  hear  the  statistics  of  something  from  what  happened  tonight,  but  she  also  knew  there  was  no  way  she  was  going  to  be  able  to  lie  to  him.      ❝      i  will  be...    ❞      she  finally  finds  the  strength  to  answer  and  glances  at  him  once  more,  tilting  her  head  to  the  side  with  a  very  subtle  smile  once  she  notices  the  two  mugs  in  his  hands.     ❝     especially  if  one  of  these  is  for  me.      ❞      change  of  subject,  great  idea.

Grogu    was    an    impressive    student,    when    he    was    able    to    focus.    His    stomach    was    just    as    impressive.    Luke’s    trying    to    get    him    to    focus    on    the    meditation    instead    of    the    (    apparently    )    appetizing    flowers    in    the    open    field.    He    can’t    help    sighing,    opening    his    eyes    just    in    time    for    the    padawan    to    stuff    a    pink    flower    in    his    mouth.    “    Oh,    Grogu    !!    “    he    exclaimed,    jumping    up    and    picking    him    up.    “    We    talked    about    this.    They    could    be    poison    !    “    he    shook    his    head,    grinning    though.    He    knew    the    flowers    weren’t    dangerous.    He’d    done    his    research    on    the    wildlife,    especially    before    allowing    his    padawan    to    go    around    without    him    as    close.    

He    senses    the    ship    before    he    sees    it,    knows    that    someone    is    looking    for    them.    The    child    always    had    a    bounty    on    him.    Any    force    sensitive    children    were    valuable    to    someone.    But    the    presence    is    familiar,    and    he    knows    that    Grogu    is    suddenly    very    excited.    He    trusts    his    padawan’s    intuition,    so    he    grabs    his    lightsaber    from    the    ground    and    clips    it    on    his    belt,    holding    him    closer    to    Luke’s    chest    as    they    walk    to    meet    the    descending    ship.    “    Grogu,    could    sense    you.“    he    called    out.    “    His    bond    to    you    is    strong.    “
