"It’s night but I’m not tireeed… I wonder who else is up right now."
"I’m the type who stays up late. What’s up?"
"Wah! Stranger in the middle of the night!"
"It's night but I'm not tireeed... I wonder who else is up right now."
"Ahh, what a wonderful day. Does anybody want to share what kind of Christmas loot they got?"
"It's almost Christmas, my favorite time of the year! I will do my best to spread the holiday joy around the temple~"

"Unlessitisanemergency." Right! And since yamabikos lead an outdoorsy lifestyle, I'd imagine "emergencies" occur a few times every day... ^^
"No! I don't do it anymore--! I mean, I didn't ever do it at all!"
I dare you to touch the other Kyouko's butt.
"But but.... knowing her, she'll probably end up stabbing me or something if I did that. Either that or she would grope me back.... It's kinda risky."
I dunno. But given your lifestyle, I'm not so sure about the second one... *cough*
"I already said I don’t use the tree as a toilet! Unlessitisanemergency."
"So, DO yamabiko use trees for bathrooms...?"
"Um, I am a very clean and civilized yamabiko. What do you think?"
Well at least I'm pretty sure you don't do drugs...
"I don't, so why is this other person making everyone else believe that I do?!"
"There's a weird person dressing up as me going around telling people to do drugs and pee in trees."

Kyouko played idly with her collar as she waited for the food. “How I got here?” She closed her eyes, seeming to put all her effort in concentrating on the memory. “I don’t remember… I just kind of remember running, and then somehow I ended up here. Like… I hardly remember anything that happened just yesterday.” She tried to concentrate more. “No, I don’t know for some reason.” She looked a bit disappointed.
“I guess I don’t really have anywhere to stay, Miss Komeiji. I guess I can go back the way I came, but I’m afraid to go back out there…” She avoided looking out of any of the windows, instead focusing her gaze on the table in front of her.
Satori thought of prodding into the little one’s head, but decided otherwise. “You’re free to stay here, little one.” She ruffled Kyouko’s head as she put a platter of food down onto Kyouko’s side of the table. “Miss Komeiji’s house is big, you know? There’s always room for one more.”
For now, Satori thought. It was alright. It seemed that Gensokyo’s underground, for some reason, was replenishing itself of minerals and ores every month or so, leading to a virtually unlimited source of income. The only problem is demand, then, she thought, but shook her head. She was taking care of an inhabitant now. No need to think of business all the time.
“You don’t have to tell me right now, Kyouko, but when you remember, could you please tell me what happened to you? Miss Komeiji would like to know more about you.” Satori gave Kyouko a quick kiss on the forehead and walked back to the stove, cooking for her and her lover now.
Her expression immediately changed from one of disappointment to one of excitement as she found a fresh breakfast in front of her. The hot food was better than anything she had in days, as evidenced by her excited scarfing down of the food. A couple times, she almost choked from eating too fast.
She became even happier as Satori reassured that she could stay at the mansion as a home. She stopped eating and smiled widely, bowing especially to show her gratitude. "Thank you Miss Komeiji! You're a really nice person. I'm happy to have met someone like you."
"If I remember anything, I will let you know first! You deserve to know, after all. Even I want to know. But it's weird..." Kyouko tapped her cheek in thought. "I'm pretty sure I didn't get hit in the head or anything that would make me forget stuff. And I don't think I'm the forgetful type. I can usually remember what people tell me and repeat back as perfectly as they said it." She seemed a little proud of the talent she just mentioned.

“Why, Kyouko,” Satori said, putting an apron over her night gown, “you’re just an adorable little thing! Will you tell me how you got here?” She asked. Satori decided that pancakes and omelettes will be good.
“Are you hungry? I’m making food,” Satori said. “You can call me miss Komeiji or Satori. Either is fine.” She smiled. “Tell me about how you got here, Kyouko. You can trust me.” She noticed that the bread was gone. This little one was really hungry, huh… She felt her maternal instinct kick in, her want to protect and care for this yamabiko grew. “Say, do you have a place to go back to, Kyouko? You can be honest.”
Kyouko played idly with her collar as she waited for the food. "How I got here?" She closed her eyes, seeming to put all her effort in concentrating on the memory. "I don't remember... I just kind of remember running, and then somehow I ended up here. Like... I hardly remember anything that happened just yesterday." She tried to concentrate more. "No, I don't know for some reason." She flinched as she locked eyes with the satori, about ready to burst into tears. But instead of being attacked as she expected, she instead carried into a warm embrace. The action confused her, but she was at least relieved that she wasn’t going to be hurt. Her heavy breathing began to slow down and her shivering stopped.
As she was released from the hug, she picked up the bread she dropped on the ground. It was dusty, but she considered eating it since she was still hungry. But she didn’t want to seem greedy so she just kept it in her lap. Simply nodding, she stood up with the satori, ready to be cleaned up.
“Look at you, you’re absolutely starving, aren’t you?” Satori said as she took the bread out of the small youkai’s lap. “Here, that’s dirty. You might get sick, let’s get you a new loaf,” She smiled at the Yamabiko and pulled it closer, her other hand reaching for a loaf of bread, fresh off the counter. Satori also found a jar of jams and applied plenty onto the bread.
“Where have you been wandering around, little one?” Satori asked, gently walking out of the pantry. “You looked scared. Is something chasing you?” She gently stroked the yamabiko’s hair and playfully touched its ear. “You’re safe here, dear. Would you tell miss Komeiji your name?” She set the youkai down on a small chair and went back to the pantry to get more ingredients. It seems that she’ll have to cook for more than one person this morning.
She weakly followed the satori as she was pulled up and led out of the pantry. She was too tired to flee anymore, and didn't give a second thought to whether or not her host was hostile. As she sat at the table, she stared at the bread in front of her before eating it up. It was sweet, much more delicious than plain bread. She quickly ate the rest of it, even smiling a little from the taste.
When prompted, she replied, "Kyouko Kasodani." She stayed put in her seat when the Komeiji person left, waiting patiently for more food.

Satori had woken up later than usual.
It wasn’t because Satori was tired or anything, although her lover always did keep her staying up a bit later than she was used to, but she simply slept in for some reason. Imbalance in the palace? She thought. Satori had grown so used to the palace that her senses grew sensitive even to the smallest change. Like an old artisan with his tool, Satori thought.
After nuzzling her lover awake, Satori headed down to the kitchen. “Even if she says no, she’s always hungry.” She chuckled. “Honestly, that girl…” After greeting a few early risers, she managed to reach the kitchen.
Satori always had the day’s breakfast laid out before she went to sleep, but it seemed that she had forgotten. “Jeez, am I really getting too old, after all?” She said out loud. It was then she realised that one of the hell cats had eaten the food she’s laid out. After a stern lecture, Satori opened the door to her pantry. “See?” She said, “There’s always food here for you. This is for everyone that lives here, so please don’t be afraid to partake in the food.” She petted the Kasha and dismissed it.
“Now,” Satori said, “Let’s see what I want to cook.” She stepped into the pantry and turned the switch for the electric light on, courtesy of Yukari.
Ah? An intruder?
Before the Chireiden’s mistress stood a Yamabiko, not unlike the one from Myouren temple. How did she… before that, though, this little one looked an absolute mess. Satori ran toward the small youkai and embraced it. “Are you alright, little one?” She asked, “Let’s worry about how you got here later, dear. Let’s make sure you’re okay first.” She smiled at the youkai. “No need to be afraid. Don’t worry about the food you ate, either. Let’s get you cleaned up and make sure that you aren’t sick.”
She flinched as she locked eyes with the satori, about ready to burst into tears. But instead of being attacked as she expected, she instead carried into a warm embrace. The action confused her, but she was at least relieved that she wasn't going to be hurt. Her heavy breathing began to slow down and her shivering stopped.

She didn't know how she ended up there. All she could remember was running-- not even looking forward but running as far as her legs would take her, and then some. Looking around her, she realized she was in a cave. Bits and pieces were coming back to her. Yes, she remembered seeing the cave and believed it would be a good place to hide. Her legs kept going as far as they would go. It was a rather long cave, now that she thought about it. Or perhaps it just felt long? If she looked back now, could she see the entrance?
Apparently not, since all that was behind her were some old-looking houses, a few lamps, and the continual darkness that seemed to stretch on from where she came. It felt lonely, with solid walls surrounding her on all sides. There was no one else there, at least no one she remembers meeting. She may have passed some people, but if she did, she didn't pay attention to them. No one seemed to care, since she was now alone in front of this large mansion.
The house in front of her was a surreal sight, as if someone took it and planted it inside this cave. It was the least thing she expected to encounter in here. A house to her was supposed to be small, capable of holding only a few people, not as large as a small mountain. Curiosity kept her from being afraid of it. Instead of being repelled, she was rather enticed to explore it. Plus, it might give her extra cover from her pursuer. The thought that they might not be far behind rekindled the anxiety inside her.
Too afraid to knock on the door, she searched for another way in, when she spotted a tiny opening in the back of the house. Without thinking twice, she crawled hastily through the hole, her dress getting torn by the rough edges. But she couldn't care less about it; she just had to get away. On the other side of the hole was what appeared to be a large pantry. A single lamp illuminated rows of stocks of food lined up on several shelves. The ground was dusty, but quiet, and there didn't seem to be anyone else in there.
She searched around for a door or stairs that led out of the pantry, but the dim lighting caused her search to end prematurely. Crouching by the hold, she listened for any sign of her pursuer, but concluded that they didn't follow her inside. With that, she sighed a tiny breath of relief.
At that point, the idea came to her to hide here for a while. She didn't know how to access the rest of the house, and they might still be outside, waiting for her. Luckily to her, she in a room surrounded by food, so she figured she could wait here as long as she wanted. Besides, she hadn't eaten for days and her body was about ready to quit. Her hands grasped what it could find in the darkness: some pieces of bread, a bag of strawberries, and a large container of water. She carried her gatherings to a corner of the pantry, across from the hole where she entered. The food in her hands got her excited, and she began to wolf down the food.
But her body soon froze up in fear again. There were footsteps, and then a beam of light ahead of her. Somebody must've opened a door. As the footsteps approached, her mind stopped as fear overwhelmed her. Whoever was coming in must own this food, and they would be furious to see her stealing it from them. She couldn't escape though where she came from either because they would spot her dashing across the beam of light. All she could do was huddle in the corner and pray with all her might that they wouldn't towards her direction.

“Well, I might be willing to teach you some things I’ve picked up.”
She finished the last bits of food in her bowl and placed it on the counter. “Thank you food the food~” she said, bowing.
“You could? I’d love to learn a few things! Maybe I could make better food for everyone else.”
“Alright then. You’ll have to guide me to your kitchen when I’m finished up here.” The sparrow smiled, bowing as well.
"Why my kitchen and not out here? Is it too cold or something?"
