Thoughts

I am currently on the search for a better job, my worries is that I am not excited about anything except being outside in the wild. I am so happy being outside and I get in moods and lack of interest when Im away from the outside. I am not sure what type of job that is or what school program that would be. I could just make one up and be a wild woman as a job. 

I have also been thinking of being more self sufficient, like hunting, keeping a meat freezer, having a garden and such. I have bought some herb plants with taste great fresh

After a year of completely forgetting about this project I have been trying to return to a more active, healthy and Eco friendly life.

Things that have changed:

I recycle now

I try to pack my lunches as much as possible

I eat healthier

I travel and adventure more

I cut out ice cream recently *sobs quietly*

I try not to eat sugary things and bake with other things besides white sugar. (cane is acceptable)

Things that have not changed:

I went back to my Sensodyne and regular toothbrush due to dental problems

I am driving to work and not biking (which I’d like to figure a way to change)

I am not recycling paper atm :/

Toothpaste minor dilemma

so the only bad thing about brushing teeth once a week with baking soda. I had some minor problem about bad breath. I can wipe away the “plaquey” feel after eating with like a rag or something. We did this when I was backpacking. I think i might try chewing mint leaves as a breath saver. I’ll look into and i could grow it on our apt. porch.

Baking Soda Toothpaste SOON

finally remembered to buy baking soda. Some online articles say it is not as rough on teeth than normal toothpaste. Maybe they should have done a hardness test (just saying derp). I’ll do it once a week. and will post vid.

Too long away

I think the last time I posted something was last year. So much has changed. I am in beautiful Oregon now instead of Colorado. Missing home, but not regretting this change I made. Oregon has tons of great communities that are sustainable as well as being known for their progressive eco ways. I miss the mountains but I have beautiful green forests around this part of Oregon. I am an interested in Scuba Diving off the coast.

Trying to Join a School Club

Well i have 2 1/2 months before my full semester begins in the spring. So I really wanted to join a club, and say hey look at all this stuff I am interested. Let me join....I work when you have meetings. No word back yet. I think it could be really useful. I really wanted to be in a club.

I don't consider myself a leader and horribly shy at times. But I really want to start up a club. So I might actually might start up a club. I just need 6 people.

Soda/Pop Challenge

Im going to try going cold turkey on drinking soda. Starting Today. That shit is addicting :P I dont drink a lot, but I steal sips from my family's drink.

Camera Building

Why?

By simply limiting a light source to the size of a pinhole we can begin to understand how both the camera and the human eye work to record light. Experimentations done using camera obscura led to many great discoveries, not the least of which was the invention of photography. Building a camera obscura is as simple as cutting a hole in a box, and can be modified easily to make a pinhole camera that captures photos. Many photographers still use a pinhole lens to give their photos a dreamy look.  

What else? Greek mathematicians used camera obscura to determine that light travels in a straight line, helping us to understand the relationship between perspective and angles. More curriculum connectors can be found here.

Gardener Project: Build an Irrigation System

Make a slow-drip watering system. Most plants like their roots to be damp, but not muddy. This experiment is perfect for observing how plants absorb the nutrients they need to thrive. Check out the rest of these 12 Gardener challenges.

A job well done for myself on not throwing away shredded paper. I used a blender, a spaghetti strainer,  and a plastic tub top frame. I'll cut them into squares or something. I hope to get really good :D

No makeup :D

Ive also decided just not to use makeup. I feel good without anyways, and my boyfriend cant tell if i have it on. So save some money, eyes wont burn, and no makeup crap goes down the drain.

Bout that toothbrush...

Well school kinda takes up time so I push to homemade/eco friendly sustainable toothbrush to the back of my head. It still lingers and I'll get to that in a the next couple of weeks. 

I did start biking to school, its 8 miles total a day! Less emissions
