Dave shakes his head and smiles, “Nah go ahead I don’t mind”

John nods and goes back to touching them gently. "I missed you. A lot." He's still amazed that Dave isn't even mad at him for disappearing for so long. Almost a year. "I'm sorry for leaving." He feels the need to apologize again. "I'm here to stay though. For sure."

Dave shivers and flushes as he realizes that hes unfurled his wings without really meaning to. “Oh! Oops. Normally I kinda…keep em hidden yeah s’ been a thing for a while now.” He snuggles up to John and pulls out Beauty and the Beast popping it into a portable CD player with a free standing speaker.

He smiles. "I like them. They feel nice." He pulls his hands back a little. "Do you mind me touching them?"

If someone trusts you enough to tell you personal things such as their struggle with depression or what anxiety feels like or just how they feel in general, please don’t be a shitty person and brush it off by belittling it just because you’ve never experienced it. It feels like shit to be told your feelings don’t matter by the one person you actually trusted enough to tell.

Dave slides into the bed with John, toeing off his shoes as he clambers up. “I found some Disney movies played and narrated on cassette and I transfered them to CD for you. Do you want to listen to one?”

John wraps his arms around Dave as he speaks, only to find.. wings? His fingers stroke over the soft feathers carefully. "Sure! These are new. And soft." He smiles.

Dave’s eyes widen and he loops his arm under John’s armpits and supports him. “Holy shit. Let’s get you laying down. I brought some stuff for you so we don’t have to get up much anyway, okay?”

"Sounds good." He grins and leads the way to his room, getting back into the bed when they're there. "You're very welcome to join me if you want." He definitely wouldn't mind that at all and would actually very much like to be cuddled.

Dave wraps his arms around John and kisses his forehead. “I’m not mad. I’m the opposite of mad. Y ou came back…” His voice cracks a little. “God…you came back. I missed you. i’m so happy to see you. Wait are you okay? You’re standing kind of weird.”

He's extremely relieved to hear that. "Um, well I was in a car accident like two weeks ago. It was pretty bad, but I'm okay now. Mostly. My leg is still broken." He steps back a bit to show off the cast. "And my ribs are healing. And I'm still remembering things sometimes, but mostly my memory is back. But I should probably lie down again before I fall."

Dave knocks on the door loudly and he’s boucing on his toes happily. “Joooohn! Johnnnnnn. It’s me! Dave! Joooohn.”

John hadn't expected him so soon, so it takes a little for him to get to the door, but he gets there and opens it and just about falls onto Dave trying to hug him. "I'm so sorry I was gone for so long, I'm a complete idiot. Please don't be mad." He may or may not be in some pain hugging Dave like this, but it's completely worth it.

the weather has been nice in other places, so i thought maybe we could travel somewhere or something and go to the beach. i was thinking florida. there's a beach down there that my parents took me and jade to when we were younger and it was a lot of fun because there weren't a ton of people around.

is everything okay?

"If we dressed you up, we could probably get away with it. How do you feel about cosplaying a troll?" It’s a valid thought you’re toying with, because you would like to be able to take him out here too, but you know why a human shouldn’t go traipsing around the troll towns, even with an escort. You also quietly and deliberately attempt to ignore his question with this tangential line of thought.

And you try not to overthink his avoidance of your question. "Would that work?" It would certainly take a lot of detail for you to actually be able to pass as a troll..

Kera is threatening to lay on your head. Dorito may be higher, but she’s up there where it counts and looking like a smug little shit about it. “Not really. I wish I could take you down into the town out there, but you’re a human, so it wouldn’t be safe. It’s pretty fun though…as long as maybe we stay out of a certain shop…”

You're a little disappointed about that. You're not even on earth and you can't explore because you could get hurt. But you don't mind all that much since you still get to spend time with Karkat. "What do you mean?"
