fkncallie:
The blonde looked at them and smiled a little. âYeah I guess so.Youâre probably doing it for an actual job though. I probably just look like a creeper with a camera.â Callie said laughing slightly.Â
Eddie shrugged. âWhat is an âactual jobâ anyway?â they asked. Then they shook their head at their attempted philosophical bullshit. âNah, Iâm just getting establishing shots for my next series. No oneâs paying me to do it... yet.â They then noticed the wristband on the blondeâs wrist and raised an eyebrow. âOh! You from Safe Haven? I havenât seen you around.â
â Itâs called a cactus burger. â They enthused, noticing the random individualâs attention aimed in their general direction â were they even looking at the skinny brunette with the green burger on the paper plate in their lap? Syd didnât know ; weirder to not address it if they were though, right? â Trippy, I know. â Shifting slighty in their seat, dark browns glanced back down to the dish. â It was like no one was ordering it, so I just said fuck it. â
Eddie had been looking at the pale brunette, but not because of the burger. They were trying to figure out how the world could still make such interesting, beautiful, and unique faces. It still blew their mind.
When the object of their attention spoke, Eddie chuckled, happy to have a way out of explaining why they were staring at the other. âIs it good, at least?â they asked. âBecause I love me a good meat patty.â

Alex shrugged his shoulders as he pressed his lips together. âFine. English is easy for someone who has English as their first language,â he said. âHappy now?â He rolled his eyes before taking another bite of the funnel cake. âSh, let me pretend I spent money, it sounds better than saying âthatâs why I got it for free.â Donât ruin it.â He had not thought that far ahead, he never did. âWho knows? I havenât decided.â
âYou know me, Iâm always happy,â they smirked before taking another bite. Then they gave a chuckle. âI always ruin shit, donât I? Sorry, not sorry.â They looked around at the carnival, wondering what would be the best thing for them to do next with their friend. âYou big on rides?â
âDamn it. I can never get the exposure right on this picture.â Callie muttered to herself. Photography had been a hobby that she had picked up when she was a teen, but it had been years since she had gotten back into it. Before coming to the town, her mother had given her a new camera and the blonde figured she should get some use out of it. The carnival was the perfect place due to all the photo opportunities. Holding the camera up, the girl sighed when she saw someone in her field of vision.Â
âCan you please move.â
Eddie had been filming a lot of the carnival. They had an idea for the next horror series they wanted to do, and these establishing shots were going to be perfect.
Eddie heard a voice, but it took a few seconds for them to register that the voice was directed at them. âOh! Shit, my bad,â they apologized, moving out of the way. They then noticed the camera and smirked. âOh, guess weâre doing similar things, huh?â

âEnglish isnât hard,â he shot back, laughing. That was probably true for him considering the fact he studied English and is pretty damn good at it. He shrugged her shoulders, a smug expression on his face. âWhat can I say? I am a smart guy.â Laughing, he watched as they went and retrieved a fork and his eyebrows raised as the other took a bite of the funnel cake. âI know, thatâs what I bought it.â
âDidnât you grow up in Michigan?â they clarified. âTry asking a non-native speaker, Mr. College Man.â They took another bite before covering their mouth and saying âYou know, buying implies you, you know, spent money, which the wristband helps us not do.â They chuckled before asking âSo, whatâs the plan after eating this delicious concoction?â
Tristan stood in front of the basketball game, shooting ball after ball. One would bounce off the hoop, followed by three more that would miss entirely. Eventually, Tristan was just launching them towards the hoop. The goal was to get one ball in the hoop and he was failing miserably. At the last second, on the last ball, it swirled around the hoop and finally fell into the net. Tristan broke out into dancing, celebrating the fact that heâd finally gotten one in! The carni just nodded awkwardly at him and had to admit that he didnât win a prize.Â
Tristan pursed his lips and abruptly stopped dancing and adjusted his shirt. âIâll be back and Iâll take that stuffed pig. You just wait.â It was a weird half threat? Tristan walked away from the booth, rubbing his nose awkwardly before spying someone nearby. âHey. Can you play basketball? Iâll pay you $2 to win that pig for me.â
Ever since Eddie arrived at Safe Haven, they had been doing the one thing that made them feel comfortable; filming. They had, of course, brought their camcorder to the carnival. They had gotten a bunch of shots of the ferris wheel and the roller coaster and the clowns, and they had an inspiring idea for a new horror movie by doing so.Â
They were grabbing some establishing shots when they noticed a guy just chucking basketballs at the hoop without an inch of precision. They chuckled and zoomed in, watching him intently and full on laughing when he erupted in a happy dance. When he turned around to leave, Eddie stopped filming, thinking they were going to get a lemonade. Then, when confronted, Eddie smirked and shrugged. âIf youâre that desperate for a stuffed pig, Iâll win if for you for free,â they taunted, heading over. Then, they turned around and squinted at the guy. âSafe Haven? I recognize that face.â

Alex raised an eyebrow at the response to the question before laughing. âGood English there, buddy,â he joked. âGood job I know what you mean, isnât it?â He rolled his eyes before shaking his head. âGet your own fork if you think youâre too good for my germs,â he said before laughing.
âEnglish is hard as fuck, and you know it,â they argued, giving him a crinkled nose in fake anger. Then they nodded. âYou are an incredibly smart person to be able to understand the complexities of my speech.â They then groaned, rolled their eyes, then trudged over to grab a fork. They then took a bite out of the funnel cake and swallowed before saying âYeah, this was a good idea.â
If you could win a bet on guessing where Alex would be at any event, youâd win putting your bet on ânear the foodâ. He was a huge foodie, he couldnât cook but the boy could eat. So of course he was looking for the best looking funnel cake his could find. Funnel cakes were hands down were his favorite.Â
âIf you canât eat all the sugary goodness at a carnival, when can you?â he asked with a laugh as he looked to the person who was now stood beside him.Â
âNone time,â Eddie responded, then squinted and looked up in confusion at their own words. âThat came out wrong, but whatever.â They gave a small laugh before scoffing at her friend. âWhat? Only one fork? If you think Iâm going to share a funnel cake and your germs, you are sorely mistaken, my tall friend.â
