“Yeah...kale is something that i’ve never had. Growing up in Texas, if it wasn’t part of the four major food groups then it didn’t count.” She said laughing a bit. “I’m Callie by the way.”

Listening to her brief complaint, Elijah’s eyes drifted between her and her nameless coffee cup, a subtle grin tugging on his lips. “I didn’t realize that a town’s success depended on their coffee…”

Callie stared at him with a blank look on her face. “I never said it did. I just said it wouldn’t hurt to have better coffee around here.” The blonde remembered his name but she cared not to think of it. She had met him at the carnival and he left a bitter taste in her mouth. Mainly because he reminded her so much of someone she knew...

“I don’t think I’ve ever had a cup of coffee that I enjoyed so it doesn’t matter to me either way.” Aleja chuckled. “And I think this town has a coffee shop here, but I’m not 100% positive.” He walked over to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water.

“Coffee is the only reason why i’m able to be somewhat normal in the morning.” Callie said watching him. “I think I get it from my mom. Shes from Washington so they take their coffee very seriously up there.”

“Yeah, you’re usually either gone, or still asleep when I get up. Plus I haven’t exactly been staying in my room lately. Kennedy? I wanna say I have that correct.” The blonde said smiling slightly.

“There’s a cafe in town that sells pretty decent coffee.” Ryder let the girl know as he poured himself a cup. “Over priced but it’s better than Starbucks and what we have here.”

“Starbucks can’t even be considered real coffee.” The blonde said looking at him. “But yeah i’ll check it out. My mom is going to be sending me some coffee that I actually like so hopefully it’s here soon.”

Peering back only at the sound of the girl’s voice, it took the boy a moment to realize that the girl wasn’t simply being rude, and that he was in fact standing directly in her field of focus. His eyes still on her, he took a quick step back before shooting his attention in the direction her camera was pointing. “My bad…” he muttered, a look of confusion sweeping over his features before looking back to her. “What’re you tryin’a shoot there?” He asked, nodding toward the camera. 

Callie looked at him before going back to her camera. “The skyline with how it matches up with the Ferris wheel. I just think it would be a nice picture.” She said snapping it real quick. Looking at the picture she smiled slightly. “Thank you. You’re kind of tall so it would of looked weird.”

         With an uneven shuffled he side-stepped out of her view but kept his sight focused on her with an unwavering stare. “Really?” It was the only word that came to mind and seemed appropriate. He was being sentimental, he knew, but there were millions of photos already online that it would be rare if she made a unique shot. Mostly it was a shame to think any memory she’d make would be from behind a lens. “There’s got to be some vemödalen going on. Why are you wasting your time behind a camera instead of enjoy it for what it’s supposed to be?”

Callie stared at him side eyed before snapping another picture. “Why does it matter? I happen to like taking pictures...it helps me think.” She said a little quieter. In truth huge crowds made her nervous now, but this was one way that she could get over that nervousness.

Eddie had been filming a lot of the carnival. They had an idea for the next horror series they wanted to do, and these establishing shots were going to be perfect.

Eddie heard a voice, but it took a few seconds for them to register that the voice was directed at them. “Oh! Shit, my bad,” they apologized, moving out of the way. They then noticed the camera and smirked. “Oh, guess we’re doing similar things, huh?”

The blonde looked at them and smiled a little. “Yeah I guess so.You’re probably doing it for an actual job though. I probably just look like a creeper with a camera.” Callie said laughing slightly.

“sometimes. I mean it helps getting people when they aren’t thinking about it.” Callie said slowly looking around before looking back at him. “Candid’s capture a lot more about a person than what they want you to see when they know that the picture is coming.” Shrugging at his next question, she shook her head. “No, I don’t really post them anywhere. Where I used to live, I would be able to hang them in my friends art gallery but that was about it.”

Sydney-Rae stood in the way unknowingly, black converse planted on the ground with their attention down on their flip phone — an outdated, sure, but still COMPLETELY useful and ( in their opinion ) much more amusing phone than the popular smartphones, nowadays. Dark browns fixed uneasily, however, on the small screen as they scrolled through a list of unanswered texts… though at the sound of a soft voice from behind, their focus diverted and they shot around to the stranger to which it belonged. “ …Oh! ” They replied, closing their phone and slipping it into their back pocket. “ Sorry, man. My bad. ” Stepping out of the way, Syd glanced down to the camera in their opposite’s hands… then to their side… then around… before looking back to the woman now with a curious expression. Nothing within distance looked too interesting to the skinny brunette… well, excluding the small blonde in front of them.

“ Uh… what is it, exactly, that you’re tryin’ to snap a pic of? ”

Callie looked back  down at the photo after snapping the picture and shrugged when she was asked the question. “Anything, there’s a lot of things to take pictures of here. Or at least gt practice with so I figured why not.” With all the lights and everyone having a good time, the blonde figured she could get some decent candid pictures of the people in this town.

“ben! bennybennybenny,” she said quickly, running after her three year old son. as soon as she caught up to him, she scooped him up in her arms and spun him around a few times before attacking his cheek with kisses. “stop running ahead of me, you little speed demon,” she said. as she placed him on her hip, she heard the other girl’s voice and she looked toward her before stepping back until she knew she was out of her shot. “sorry. we didn’t just photo bomb did we?”

Callie managed to get the stranger out of the way before the little boy took off again. Snapping a quick picture of him covered in cotton candy and grinning, she shook her head. “No, not at all. He was actually what I wanted to get before he took off again.” The blonde said turning the camera around and showing the mom.

Jace turned at the request cocking an eyebrow slightly, it seemed counter intuitive to him. This was a carnival, a very public place, if she wanted pictures without people in them she should have gone somewhere quiet. To go some where public only to tell people to move seemed redundant to him, yet he didn’t vocalize that, instead he took a step to the right offering a bashful look. “My apologies, I didn’t mean to wander into your field of focus.” 

“It’s fine, I just wanted to get a picture of someone before they moved.” Callie said lifting the camera up and snapping the picture. Looking at the picture and smiling slightly, she put her lens cap back on. “Thank you.”
