goodbye, zandik…
…please, come back soon 🙏
During the quest I love how Pantalone is insinsistent on Dottore's humanity. Dottore always viewed himself as a monster wearing human skin but Pantalone has seen all of Dottore. The good and the bad and despite all Dottore's evil deeds he sees Dottore for what he is. Human.
Omega being a segment of the original Dottore makes him feel more disconected from being a human. He says that he is Dottore. Not Zandik. Seperating himself from the original.
But clearly he still sees himself as Zandik. For example we see he signs using that name. He even admits he is Zandik at times. He sees himself as Zandik but he walks around fully admitting it. For him Zandik represents being human. He struggles with his humanity and identity just in a different way then the other Dottore's did.
But in the end when Dottore is dying Pantalone asks him what he would like to be called. Pantalone will use whatever name he wishes. Dottore gives Pantalone the choice and Dottore says goodbye using Pantalone's real name. He sees Pantalone as human so of course he uses his name and Pantalone as someone who sees Dottore as human uses his real name in response.
They see each other for who they truly are and they wanted to show that to each other. Thats why Pantalone gives him the choice.
And when Dottore is talking to Nahida he finally admits what none of the other Dottore's could and sturggled with. That he is human.

Maybe the reason it always gets confusing when people try to compare harbinger power levels is because their numbers are not actually about that. I think it's just the order they were recruited in.
Capitano was almost definitely the first. Other cursed Khaenri'ans is the obvious place for Pierro to start looking for allies. Maybe they were even acquainted before the cataclysm.
Pantalone and Tartaglia are regular mortal humans as far as we know, so probably the newest two aside from Arlecchino.
Arlecchino is only like 25-30 apparently. But she could be 4th just because the original knave was 4th.
We know very little about Pulcinella, but his elfish ears could be an indication that he's the same thing as Alice and Klee. I've also seen fae speculations. Either could put him in the 400+ club for possible recruitment before Scaramouche.
Everyone else is confirmed 400+.
Relative power levels have definitely changed over the years. Capitano was weakened by the curse and the strain of housing all those souls. Columbina was getting weaker from world rejection. Dottore was probably physically the weakest in the early days before he made his segments, but now you could make an argument for him being the strongest. He also made Scaramouche more powerful than he was initially.
Do they have regular re-ranking tournaments? If they did, Columbina probably wouldn't have cared enough to fight and would have gotten "demoted".
Recruitment order is the occam's razor.
yes, finally i found someone who shares my opinion
Guys you're never going to believe this but the abused homeless teenager we sent to go die in the desert 500 years ago grew up to be evil

The death of you and me
An interesting fact about Isterik in Nebakov.
When Erik breaks into the dungeon where Istvan is being held, the first thing he does is look for him with his eyes.
And when he finds him, a brief smile of relief appears on Erik's lips, while Istvan turns and looks back at him.
Erik's nervousness was already obvious during the veiled threat from Zizka, but only in that smile we can see how scared and how worried he really was for Istvan's safety.
And Istvan. Of course, he had no doubt that his beloved boy would rush to help him even from the other side of the world, but just look at that admiring gaze.
He looks as if he has seen God.

Wait I forget, is it canon that the letter is the reason for their reconciliation in the AU? I assumed there must have been some pretty significant differences to what went down on the bridge that day, for the Piltover/Zaun situation to be so different generally, and *that* would mean Silco wouldn't be radicalised in the same way, and so would be more open to forgiveness. (To me Silco always seemed angrier about Vander betraying Zaun and their cause than about the attempted murder thing...)
It's not really canon, it's just that Jinx mentioned that if Silco would've found the letter, maybe everything would've been different and the in the AU everything is different. So, not really canon, I think. Don't know if the creators have said anything.
In my opinion, the letter makes them talk again and actually deal with the situation. It's not instant forgiveness, needs some work and time.
I agree that Silco could forgive the violence (being the messed up man that he is) because in the end, in my headcanon at least (because the felicia thing is weak) Vander attacked him for Zaun. He wanted to stop Silco's extreme actions. So, he gets it. Doesn't agree with it but gets it. As long as Vander starts to fight for Zaun again, Silco could forgive him. In my headcanon.
The letter is a bit of a dividing thing with fans and I get it. It's a shitty letter :D
I'll answer another ask too:
Thank you for this! I love that you guys share your Silco thoughts with me and I can share them with other's too. What I love about Silco, is that he said that he "let a weak man die" yet the one thing he talks about all the time is the incident. He has not stopped thinking about it, that loser. Doesn't sound like a man who "let a weak man die" to meeeeee.
Also, one thing I also think about, is that props to Powder for saving herself by lunging herself at Silco. She had no idea what would happen but thankfully the man she hugged happened to have major trauma that was activated by the said hug. Well done, Powder!
THEY UNDOOMED THE OLD MAN YAOI ?
Starscream is one of those fascinating characters where in spite of the fact that there is nothing remotely conventionally sexy about him, you just know instinctively that everyone wants to fuck him
