October 30, 2017, was one of the lowest days of my life. No, actually it was the absolute lowest day of my life. In fact, I’m not going to go into detail about the events of that day.
What I do want to say is that, less than a year later, while not completely gone, my depression has pretty much gone into hibernation. I’m living in a new place. I’m working at a job I love with a boss who supports and encourages my professional growth. I’m out from under the people who gaslighted and otherwise psychologically abused me. Not all of it happened the way I wanted it to happen, but all of it was definitely a change for the better.
In short, the point I’m trying to make is that it gets better. It may not seem like it right now, but one day it will. You’re stronger than you think.
