Chapter Eight
It was morning and both Lex and Eddie were woken by Lex’s alarm to get up for work.
“Fuuuuck,” Lex groaned as she reached over to silence her phone. Eddie shifted with her to allow her to reach over, slightly confused from being half asleep still. He wondered when he would get used to waking up to an alarm. “I can’t. I can’t go.” Lex rolled back over and buried her head into Eddie’s chest.
“Don’t go, they will understand.” Eddie rubbed his hand up and down her back. “You need to take time to process everything.”
Lex was always super anxious to call in sick to work, but he was right. There was no conceivable way that she would be able to function at work. She typed out a text to her boss explaining what had happened and put her phone back on the bedside table. “Done.”
“Good girl.” Eddie comforted her, drawing her back into his chest for a hug. They stayed like that for at least an hour, not saying anything, just appreciating each other's company. As the morning progressed, Lex and Eddie slowly made their way out of bed.
Eddie poked his head cautiously out of the bedroom door first, ensuring there were no sneaky light beams poking through the curtains. Satisfied, he turned on some lights to illuminate their path. Lex didn’t make it very far, she plopped down on the couch and started scrolling through her phone.
Eddie started brewing coffee for the two of them, he was only starting to adjust to a ‘normal’ sleeping schedule again, but he didn’t mind. Even if it meant he was dodging sunlight all day, being able to spend time with Lex was more important. He brought two mugs of coffee over to the couch and sat hers down on the table. “How are you feeling.”
Lex pulled a face, but shrugged. “As good as can be expected, I suppose.”
“Yeah, it’s probably going to be a long time before you feel normal again.”
Lex stifled a small laugh. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt normal, Eddie.”
Eddie rolled his eyes, she was at least feeling good enough to be cracking jokes. “Well whatever your normal is.”
Lex continued scrolling through her social media, coming across a photo Ace had put up. She felt a pang of pain in her heart, but she knew what she had to do today. “Hey… Would you come with me to Ace’s?” Lex asked Eddie, who was mid-sip of his coffee.
“Of course, anything you want to do. We ah, might have to wait until nightfall though.”
***
As the sun began to set, Lex had showered, gotten dressed and brushed her hair, which was pretty good considering everything that was going on. Once the sun had disappeared enough that Eddie wouldn’t be turned into chocolate nesquik the two of them left her apartment. From what Lex had explained, Ace only lived a few blocks past Rusty’s the opposite direction to hers and was totally walkable.
As the pair walked through town Lex’s anxiety grew, a knot building up in her stomach. What should she say? What do they talk about? Eddie was picking up on her panic and checkin in on her. “You good?”
Lex glanced across at Eddie. “I’m just really nervous to see him.” She admitted.
“Well I’m sure it’s going to be really tough, but I’ll be there.”
“What if he’s mad at me?” Lex asked.
“And why would he be mad?”
“Because… Because he was really close with her and I think he was angry at me that night when I wouldn’t work things out with her.” Lex tried to explain.
“I’m sure anything that was on his mind before has since been replaced with other concerns.” Eddie reassured Lex as they turned down the street Ace lived on.
Lex reached her hand up to knock, but Eddie grabbed it. “If he doesn’t specifically say it, you gotta invite me in, remember?” Eddie reminded Lex, to which she nodded in agreement. He let go of her arm and she knocked on his door.
It was a few moments and the latch could be heard turning in the door before it swung open tenderly. Ace looked a mess, from the look on his face he had not stopped crying since. “I didn’t expect you here.” He spoke in a monotone, very different from his usual flamboyant nature.
“I just… We wanted to check in.” Lex caught herself mid sentence and looked to Ace expectantly.
Ace’s eyes darted across to Eddie and back at lex. “Yeah. Well you guys can come in, I suppose.”
“Thanks.” Lex turned to look behind her to watch Eddie, making sure that was enough of an invitation. He looked slightly surprised when he was able to step inside with no problems, giving Lex a little look. “How are you holding up?”
“Shit.” Ace answered Lex with a nervous laugh. “The love of my life just died, here, in my fucking house.”
Lex didn’t know how to begin unpacking everything he had just said. Did he just admit that he was in love with Molly? “Ace..”
“Don’t.” He abruptly interrupted Lex, grabbing a beer that was on the coffee table and taking a big chug. He had clearly been drinking all day. “Because why do you care all of a sudden.”
The words hit Lex like a knife. While she was afraid of him being angry at her, she was still surprised when it actually played out that way. Eddie interrupted, unable to stand by and let this happen. “Hey, that’s not fair.”
Ace cocked his head to look at Eddie and raised an eyebrow. “Well since you entered the scene, you’re all this one has cared about.” He waved his hand around motioning towards Lex, still holding the beer causing it to slosh about.
“Yeah? Well from what I’ve heard you two were supposed to be her best friends, but I can’t really see why to be honest.” Eddie was defensive, very defensive. He could feel his anger bubbling up, how dare he take his pain out on Lex who was grieving just as much as he was.
“That’s rich considering you’ve been relevant for what, 5 whole minutes?” Ace shot back.
“Eddie.” Lex stepped towards him and tenderly touched his arm, asking him to back off. Eddie’s eyes darted across to see how upset Lex was, but respected her wishes and stayed quiet. “Ace, please I didn’t come here to fight, honestly.” She tried her best to deflect the situation. “I already feel so guilty for Saturday night, the way I blew her off like that.”
“Well you should.” He finished off his beer completely before setting the empty can on the table where several others sat. “Because she was so upset that she thought she had lost you. Why do you think she OD’d? Because she was trying to distract herself from all the bullshit.”
Lex began to break down, unable to cope with everything that Ace was saying, confirming her worst fears. “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Eddie was furious, putting his arm around lex to comfort her, counting down in his head trying to calm himself from completely flying off the handle at Ace. “Let’s go.” He whispered to Lex who nodded in between sobs. He guided Lex towards the exit before turning around and having one final jab. “I hope this has made you feel better.” Eddie seethed, suppressing everything telling him to beat the shit out of him and drain him dry.
Ace was unphased, lighting a cigarette as he watched them leave.
Once outside on the street, Eddie grabbed Lex and held her head in his hands. “Look at me, Lex, Look at me.” She tried her best to stop sobbing to meet his gaze. “Do not listen to what he’s saying, he’s really hurt at the moment and he is taking it out on you. I promise you, he doesn’t mean it.”
“He’s right though.”
“Lex!” Eddie yelled, making her jump back a little. “Nothing is your fault, do you hear me?” Lex nodded, not wanting to fight with Eddie when he was just trying to make her feel better.
They walked back to Lex’s apartment. Once inside, Lex explained that she just wanted to have a shower and relax. Eddie agreed that that was a good idea, and he would order a pizza for them to eat when she was out.
Lex thanked Eddie again for being there for her and went into her room to grab some pyjamas, before coming back out and going into the bathroom.
Eddie ordered the pizza like he said he would, fluffed up the couch and grabbed a blanket for them to snuggle up on the couch. He flicked through netflix and tried to find a movie for them to watch. It had been around 20 minutes and the Pizza arrived. Eddie paid for it and placed it on the coffee table, wondering why Lex was taking such a long time to shower. He presumed she was just upset and needed her space, which was completely fair.
Eddie wanted to be comfortable, so he went into her bedroom to pick something from his bag of stuff he was leaving at hers. Entering the bedroom, something resting on the bed caught his eye; it was a little tin box. Curiosity getting the better of him as he had never seen this in her room before, he opened the tin to find a couple razor blades. His heart dropped, panicked as to why this was sitting out.
“Fuck.”
Eddie turned around to see Lex standing in the doorway to her bedroom, looking terrified that he had found what she had carelessly left out. “Lex.. What-” Eddie approached her with the tin in his hand.
“I didn’t do it.” Lex interrupted him before he could continue. “I thought about it, but I didn’t.”
Eddie’s concern softened, but he still inspected her for any cuts, making Lex feel so stupid. “Sorry… I just… Please don’t hurt yourself Lex.” Eddie pleaded, his big puppy dog eyes looking into hers desperately. “I’m taking this, by the way.”
“Please do.” Lex agreed, following him back into the lounge to see the cute little set up he had made for them, complete with pizza and a movie ready to go on the tv. Eddie hid the box for now, knowing that he would get rid of it later.
He tried his best to shake his new fears, trying to focus on the movie but he was plagued with new concerns. Sure she hadn’t self-harmed now, but if it had crossed her mind he was sure that would happen again.
***
It was a new day and Lex called in sick again, this time explaining that she would not be coming in for the rest of the week. “I feel a bit more relieved.” Lex explained to Eddie as they laid in bed together.
“Good.” Eddie leaned across to kiss her. “Now I get to take care of you all week.” He placed lots more tiny kisses all over her face.
Lex started to giggle, feeling a glint of happiness that she had been unable to feel for the last couple days. “Eddieeee.” She pleaded as he added tickling into the mix.
‘What? I can’t help it, I like hearing you laugh.” He admitted, pulling away and stopping his tickling assault to stare into her eyes. “I love seeing you happy.”
Lex’s heart fluttered at the use of the word ‘love’. She wondered whether it was too soon, but she knew exactly how she felt. She studied his face for a moment, watching him stare back at her. She decided now was a good time as ever, and said ‘I love you.”
Eddie looked stunned, but a happy stunned. “I love you too.” He replied as he watched a massive grin pull across Lex’s face. He leaned in to kiss her, soft at first but increasing in intensity as it went on.
The days began to grow into one blur, Tuesday ended and suddenly it was Wednesday. Not having left the house in a couple days definitely wasn’t helping, but Eddie was here, and wherever Eddie was is exactly where Lex wanted to be.
Lex’s phone rang in the middle of the day causing a slight panic, the last call she had received was Ace telling her the bad news. She recognised the number, it was her boss. Lex answered the phone, exchanging a few formal greetings. The formalities didn’t last long before he told her that she had really let him down by calling in sick this whole week, and despite the fact that she was going through something really tough he had to find a replacement as they couldn’t run a staff member down.
“So what does that mean?” Lex asked desperately, her heart racing.
“It means you won’t be required to come back.” His voice echoed through her head.
“So, you’re firing me?”
“Something like that.” He brushed her off. “If you’ve left anything here feel free to come by and pick it up, we wish you the best in your future endeavours.”
Lex hung up the phone, throwing it across the room landing safely on the couch, thankfully. She pressed her palms against her face, burying her head. “Fuck!” She cried out. She wanted to scream, cry, but nothing was coming out.
Eddie came out of the bathroom hastily, worried about what had happened. “You okay?”
“I’ve just been fired.” She said, completely exhausted at the week she was having.
“No…Lex. I’m so sorry. You don’t deserve any of this.” Eddie pulled her in for a hug, wondering how one person could have such a shit run of back luck.
“How am I going to pay for my apartment, how am I going to live without an income.” She questioned emotionless, exasperated.
“Don’t worry about that, you can always move in with me.” Eddie reassured her, rubbing his thumb over her cheeks. “I’ll always take care of you, I promise.”
“I just feel like such a failure.” Lex admitted, leaning into his gentle caresses of her face.
Eddie pulled her back in against his chest, at a loss for words. What do you even say at this point? Everything was going south for her, quick. And if he was being honest with himself it all started when he had come around. While he didn’t want to admit it, there was a part of him that thought maybe he was no good for her, that maybe he was cursed to ruin the lives of those that ever decided to get close to him. Although he chastised Lex for feeling to blame, he couldn’t help but think this was all his fault.

Chapter Seven
Sunday had rolled around, Lex woke up in Eddie’s bed, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. She grabbed her phone off the bedside table and wrote out a message to Molly, explaining that she was sorry she didn’t give her a chance to talk to her and that it was okay and all was forgiven. After chatting with Eddie last night, Lex realised how important friendship was and there was no way she would lose Molly over something so trivial.
After finishing the text and sending it to Molly, Lex couldn’t help but notice how hard Eddie was. She was certain he was still asleep, but the thought of him being pressed up against her was turning her on. Wiggling her but against his erection caused him to wake up in no time and tighten the grip around her waist. “And what do you think you’re doing?” Eddie asked in a deep, low voice.
Lex exhaled slowly. “I’m sorry, I can’t help it.”
Eddie began to kiss her neck, the sequence of events becoming painfully familiar. Surely it would turn out better this time? “Are you as turned on as I am right now?” Eddie asked. “Because I really want to fuck you.”
“Please fuck me.” Lex repeated his words, arching her back against him. “I need it.”
Eddie trailed his hands down her stomach until they dipped inside her underwear, slipping through her folds to find out just how wet and turned on she was. “Mmmm feels like you really do need it, baby.” He commented, beginning to trace circles around her clit.
“Ah, so bad.” Lex agreed, the throbbing in her pussy was driving her wild. She knew it wouldn’t take much to send her over the edge.
Wasting no time, Eddie pulled down her underwear as Lex kicked them off her legs. He grabbed her hips to slide in on the right angle as he entered her from behind. Lex moaned as he slid inside, Eddie pausing for a brief second to collect himself. “Fuck you feel good baby.” He complimented as he began to slide in and out, increasing the intensity as his need for her grew. “So fucking tight and so fucking wet.”
Lex’s head was spinning, the pleasure that was vibrating throughout her whole body as he relentlessly pounded into her, hand firmly gripping on her hips as she slammed them back to meet his. Eddie brought his other hand up to wrap it around her throat and applying pressure. His hand on her hip reached around to find her clit, making Lex cry out as he began to rub it.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck.” Lex repeated as her orgasm was fast approaching. Eddie chuckled in her ear, kissing her neck and whispered words of encouragement.
“Mmm you going to cum for me?” He asked in between kisses. “I want you to cum for me baby. Can you be a good girl for me and cum on my dick?”
Lex almost couldn’t handle the build up, she knew what was coming was going to be intense. With a few more circles around her clit and thrusts directly into her g-spot she was cumming hard on his dick, screaming and convulsing as she rode through her orgasm. She could feel how wet she was, sure that she had gushed all over his dick as she came.
“What a good fucking girl you are, so fucking hot.” Eddie praised her as he continued to thrust in and out, chasing his own release now. After a few more minutes of pounding, not giving Lex any relief from her sensitivity, he came hard and fast, moaning into the back of her neck. His thrusts slowed down as he was coming down from the high, cuddling into Lex as she sought her own relaxation.
“Wow.” Lex said between deep breaths, trying to come back down to Earth.
Eddie chuckled, pleased with himself that he had brought her such pleasure. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. You did amazing.”
***
The rest of the Sunday was spent on the couch, smoking a couple bowls and eating way too many snacks. As the day drew to a close, Lex suggested going back to her place for the night as she had work tomorrow. Eddie was more than happy to follow Lex anywhere she wanted to go, so he packed a few things and they made their way back to her apartment once it was dark.
Lex showered and packed her lunch for work, Eddie sitting on her couch flicking through Netflix for something to watch before bed. “You know,” Lex began from the kitchen, scrolling through her phone. “Molly never replied to me.”
Eddie looked up at her from the couch, a quizzical look on his face. “Maybe she just needs time, like you did.”
Lex pulled a face, it was unlike Molly to hold a grudge, especially when she was the one in the wrong in the first place. “Maybe.” Lex shrugged, plugging her phone in to charge before joining Eddie on the couch. Afterall what other explanation did she really have, not wanting to think of the possibility that her best friend hated her after all this.
Eddie decided on a horror movie, which Lex was more than happy to watch. They had discovered that horror was their both favourite genre. “We really have a lot in common, you know.” Eddie whispered to Lex in the middle of the movie.
She looked up at him from resting in his arms and smiled. “We do, don’t we?”
Eddie nodded, returning a warm smile. “Like I said, must be fate.” He grinned a cheesy grin, making Lex play hit him.
“Must be.” She teased, leaning back into his arms. While it was a very cheesy line, Lex had to admit the way they instantly fell together and fit so perfectly was almost like it was fate, meant to be. There was something so comforting about being in his arms that she had not felt with anyone before him.
They were interrupted by Lex’s phone ringin from the kitchen, where it sat on charge. Eddie paused the movie as Lex hopped up and ran to her phone. “Oh it’s Ace, Molly must be using his phone- Hey!” Lex answered the phone and began to talk to Ace while Eddie fiddled with a magazine that was placed on her coffee table, keeping himself occupied while waiting for her to return.
“What..?” Lex asked, as her voice quivered. This caught Eddie’s attention as he watched Lex intently as she spoke on the phone, her face had dropped. “No…No.” She began to cry, sobbing as she dropped the phone from her face. Eddie ran over to her, looking at her phone to see the call still ticking along, but she was unable to say goodbye. Eddie placed the phone down on the counter and grabbed her, pulling her into a strong hug. He had no idea what was going on but he knew it wasn’t good.
“Lex, What’s wrong?” He asked, but she was still sobbing violently in his arms. ‘Lex, is everything okay?” He continued, still not getting a response. Eddie continued to hold her as she cried, her legs soon becoming weak and he followed her all the way down to sit on the tiles of the kitchen floor.
“Molly….Molly…” Lex tried to speak but she was interrupted with sobs.
Eddie felt panicked, something was really wrong. His heart was breaking seeing Lex so distraught. “Take your time, breathe. Breathe.” He soothed her, rubbing her back as she pulled away from his chest to try and speak again.
“Molly overdosed.” Lex rushed to get the words out and began sobbing again. Eddie’s heart sank, a pain he was all too familiar with.
“Fuck, Lex.” Was all Eddie managed to say as she continued to sob in his arms again. He sat there on the kitchen floor with her for another 10 minutes until her sobbing had slowed down, hiccups began to bubble up. “Hey, hey. Let’s get you in the shower, okay? You’re going to make yourself sick.” Eddie helped her up and led her into the bathroom, turning on the water for her. “Do you want me to stay here or give you some space?”
“Please stay.” Lex looked up into Eddie’s eyes needily.
“Okay, I’ll be right here.” Eddie assured her, leaning against the bathroom counter as she stepped into the now steaming shower. He rubbed his temples, trying to process everything that had just happened.
Lex stood in the shower, feeling numb. The water washed over her body and ran down her face so she could no longer tell whether she was crying or not. She was sad, but she had an overwhelming feeling of guilt, knowing that the last time she spoke to Molly they parted on bad terms. Lex knew Molly like to partake in drugs, and she knew she sometimes took things a little too far. Maybe if she had spent the night with her instead of turning her away she would still be here. It was a painful thought, but it was all Lex could think.
Eddie remained leaning against the counter, watching Lex stand in the shower staring into the tiles. He was glad that she was no longer hysterically crying, while he was sure it hurt no less, at least she had managed to calm down. “You right, Lex?” Eddie asked softly, waiting for her response.
“No.” She spoke and her words reverberated against the shower walls.
Eddie wasn’t sure what he expected her to say to his question, but he was just trying to be comforting. “Is there anything I can do?”
Lex didn’t answer Eddie, but instead turned off the shower. Eddie grabbed a towel and opened it for her to step into. He wrapped his arms around her as she turned into his chest, the towel covering her. Eddie kissed the top of her head and rested his head against hers. They stood in the embrace for a moment before Lex pulled away to dry herself properly.
“Can we go to bed?” Lex asked, her voice raspy and low.
“Of course.” Eddie followed her into her bedroom and sat on her bed as she found some comfy clothes to wear. She brought herself over to her bed and slumped under the covers. Eddie got up to turn the lights out and made sure the curtains were closed properly. Returning to bed, he stayed silent and pulled Lex in for a hug.
There were no more tears, her eyes felt so dry. “Do you think it’s my fault?” Lex asked.
“No!” Eddie reassured her, pulling her against his body tighter. “Don’t you dare think that, Lex. It’s so awful, but it has nothing to do with you.”
“But if I had just let her speak to me, fix things between us-”
“Hey, you can go through a million what-if’s and they don’t help, trust me. You will send yourself crazy. I’m so sorry you have to go through this, but it is not your fault.” Eddie held onto her tightly, not letting up in the slightest.
Lex paused for a moment, thinking over what Eddie had said. He was right, but it was also easier said than done to shut those thoughts out. “She’ll never know that I forgave her.”
Eddie sighed, leaning his head against the back of hers. “Now I don’t know her at all, but I could see how much she cared about you Lex. I think she knew that you’d come around.”
Lex clenched her eyes shut, feeling more tears approaching. She was so grateful to have Eddie here with her, he was truly the only thing keeping her sane. “Promise me you’re not going to leave?”
Eddie was taken back by the sudden change of topic. “Hey, who said I was going anywhere?”
“Promise me.”
“I promise.”

Chapter Six
Eddie and Lex spent the following week in each other's space, Lex going between her home and his underground apartment when she wasn’t at work; Eddie mostly spending his time waiting for her to return. Despite the small hiccup over the weekend, the pair had grown accustomed to each other fast and the familiar feeling of pure infatuation had crept over the two of them. They were so drawn together it almost felt supernatural.
They had stuck to their word and avoided sex, but that didn’t mean they didn’t share many affectionate moments. The fear that had previously plagued Eddie had dissipated, replaced with an obsessive attachment, unable to let Lex go no matter how hard he might try.
Lex finished work on Thursday, the weekend just around the corner. Her plans had always been to meet Ace and Molly at Rusty’s, but Lex was suddenly unsure. Walking down the steps to Eddie’s and opening the front door, she was met with her gorgeous boyfriend absentminded plucking at his guitar on the couch. It was almost as if he could read her mind as he asked her “What’s your plans for the weekend?” as she sat down next to him.
Lex hesitated, she was honestly unsure what she wanted to do. “Well, usually I’d be meeting Molly and Ace at Rusty’s but…” Lex trailed off, Eddie frowning and turning away from his guitar to look at her.
“But?” He encouraged her to finish her sentence.
“But I don’t know that I want to go.”
“I think you should go.” Eddie said, returning to his guitar as quickly as he was pulled away from it.
Lex raised her eyebrow, she wasn’t expecting that. “And why is that?”
“Because it’s what you always do, and I don’t want to stop you from doing the things you enjoy. I’m not going anywhere.” Eddie explained as his fingers strummed over the strings.
Lex appreciated the gesture, but it was more than just wanting to stay home with him. Lex was still mad at Molly, despite all the messages she had sent Lex profusely apologising for the whole ordeal with Nate, but she wasn’t ready to forgive her. “Honestly, I’m still mad at Molly.”
Eddie nodded, continuing to strum chords. “But she’s your best friend, maybe you need to talk it out in person.”
Lex wasn’t used to having a partner that wasn’t desperately trying to control her, keeping her at his side 24/7. It was refreshing, but she didn’t know what to think. “Did you want to come with me then?”
Eddie looked up at Lex once again. “Yeah, I’d love to.”
***
When Friday rolled around, Eddie was a man of his word and was ready to accompany Lex to Rusty’s for her weekly routine. Walking together Lex felt the safest she had ever felt, and her heart was full.
Turning down the alley that lead to Rusty’s and approaching the entrance, Todd became animated when he saw Lex. “Lex! Ah man, where did you disappear to last week? We were all worried about you.”
Lex appreciated his concern, remembering her dramatic exit the week prior. “I’m good, I uh, went back with this one.” Lex motioned to Eddie who offered Todd a smile. Todd accepted her explanation without saying any more and motioned for them to go inside.
“I see you’re quite popular around here.” Eddie teased, squeezing her hand affectionately as they made their way through Rusty’s, their iconic setlist already pumping from the DJ booth.
Lex shrugged playfully. “I’m kind of a big deal.”
“Yeah you are.” Eddie pulled Lex in and kissed her passionately. They were interrupted almost immediately, a familiar voice calling out to Lex.
“Lex?!” Molly approached the pair, Ace in tow. Lex sighed, pulling away from Eddie but not quite ready to address her issues.
“Hey.” She offered her best friend a bland greeting, Molly recoiling slightly.
“I didn’t know if I was going to see you tonight, I haven’t heard from you all week.” Molly continued despite Lex’s standoffish exterior.
“Sorry…I’ve just been busy.” Lex motioned towards Eddie once again, who smiled at Molly and gave her a little nod.
“No, yeah, I totally see that.” Molly backtracked, desperately trying to repair whatever was going on between the two of them. She knew she had fucked up and was ready to own it. “I’m super happy for you by the way, I didn’t know you guys had linked up again?”
Lex was beginning to grow frustrated at Molly pestering them. “Yeah. Yep.”
Molly glanced back and forth between Eddie and Lex, feeling as though she wasn’t winning this war tonight. Cutting her losses, she offered them both a smile before turning and retreating, earning a scowl from Ace as he quickly trotted after Molly.
Lex returned her attention to Eddie who was giving her a look. “What?”
“C’mon Lex, you didn’t really give her a chance.” Eddie explained, feeling Molly’s pain thirdhand. Eddie had been that person many times before, keeping people at bay. He didn’t want to see Lex go down the same path for no reason.
Lex grabbed Eddie’s arm and pulled him to a couch so they could talk. “It’s just… She’s supposed to be my best friend, her and Ace. But lately all she has cared about is setting me up with someone for her benefit. I swear she is only trying to distract me so she can jump Ace’s bones, you can cut their sexual tension with a knife.” Eddie offered Lex a laugh. “It just feels like she doesn’t care about me anymore, she’s just being so selfish.”
Eddie paused for a moment, thinking carefully about the next words to come out of his mouth. “It sounds to me like you’re just scared of losing her.” Eddie began to explain. “And in turn, losing Ace too.”
Lex thought through about what Eddie was trying to say, and admittedly there was some truth to it. Lex was afraid that she would get stuck as the third wheel, or worse, being forgotten about completely. “I guess so.”
“Now I’m not saying you have to forgive her tonight, that’s completely up to you when you feel like you’re ready.” Eddie continued. “But it seems silly to throw away a friendship because you’re afraid to lose it.”
Lex raised her eyebrow, the irony behind Eddie’s advice was painfully funny. “You know there was someone who could have listened to those wise words a few weeks ago.” Lex teased, Eddie knowing exactly what she was getting at.
“Who’s to say I didn’t follow that advice, I stuck with you, didn’t I?”
“Yeah, but getting you there was like pulling teeth.” Lex joked, Eddie rolling his eyes. “Alright.” Lex slapped her hands on her knee’s dramatically. “I’ll take your advice and talk it out.” She stood up from the couch, leaving Eddie in search of Molly.
Lex looked around Rusty’s for the next 5 minutes, exhausting all the places that she could be in a matter of minutes given the small size of the bar. “Fuck.” She muttered to herself, drawing to the conclusion that she must’ve left. She returned to Eddie, who was still sitting on the couch.
“No luck?” He asked.
“Nope.” Lex shrugged. “She must’ve left.”
Eddie gave her a little chuckle. “Very dramatic, I wonder where she gets that from.”
***
It wasn’t long after that conversation Eddie and Lex decided to leave as well, going back to Eddie’s. Lex found herself spending most of her time there, at least she knew it was vampire safe. Feeling quite at home, Lex rummaged through Eddie’s closet to find a nice comfy oversized tee to wear.
As she flicked through a wave of band tee’s, she found something that caught her eye tucked away at the very bottom of the wardrobe. It was a pink bunny plush, with a white bow around it’s neck. Curiosity getting the better of her, wondering under what circumstances a vampire would keep a soft cuddly toy in their wardrobe Lex picked up the toy to examine it.
“Maybe we could watch-” Eddie entered his own bedroom and froze, seeing what lex had in her hands.
“Is this your little cuddle toy?” Lex teased, waving it about. Eddie remained silent, not having moved since he saw her. “C’mon I’m just teasing, I think it’s cute that you have this.”
“It was Kayla’s.” Eddie spoke softly, eyes looking at the ground. “I got it for her on our first valentines day, she loved it and took really good care of it, so I kept it when…”
“Eddie I am so sorry.” Lex’s stomach dropped, she really had a knack for putting her foot in her mouth. She held onto the bunny, not knowing what to do with it.
Eddie approached her solemnly, taking the bunny from her gently. “It’s alright.” He assured her, placing the bunny back in his wardrobe. The emotion displayed on his face made Lex think it was anything but alright.
Lex felt like a real asshole, pulling Eddie in for a hug as he just stood there. He leaned into Lex, wrapping his arms around her and burying his head in the crook of her neck. “Do you want to talk about it?” Lex asked, rubbing circles on his back.
Eddie pulled away from the embrace and brought lex over to sit on his bed. “Not really, but I guess you’ll hear about it one day, so it may as well be today.” Eddie began, Lex watching him intently. “When I was telling you about everything the other week, she was the girlfriend that I lost that made me swear I would never get close to anyone else ever again. We had been together for a couple of years, everything was perfect. She knew… She knew about everything, she didn’t care. I was still fairly new to this whole vampire business and thought fuck it, I can deal with the consequences of being immortal down the track. I just never thought I’d be dealing with them so…soon.”
Lex supportively reached out to grab Eddie’s arm, knowing how difficult it must be to recount everything. “I’m sorry Eddie, that’s so awful.”
“I still remember that day so clearly.” He explained, staring out into nothing, unable to make eye contact with Lex in fear of falling apart. “She was going away for the weekend with her best friend, and they crashed. I knew something was up when she didn’t call me to let me know she got there, the following day her sister called me telling me what had happened.”
“Shit. I can’t imagine what that would have been like.”
“I was… I would’ve married her, She was perfect.” Eddie explained, a slight smile drawing across his face in her memory. Lex couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy, like no matter what she would be the second choice, the consolation prize. She knew it was unfair to feel that way, he was in pain and he had lost someone he loved, but it just hurt to know how much he loved her.
“Sorry. I know you probably don’t want to hear that.” Eddie added, looking across to Lex who had zoned out on her own little tangent.
“It’s fine.” Lex lied, it certainly wasn’t fine.
“I promise you, it’s been a very long time since I’ve let anyone in, and I let you in in a heartbeat.” Eddie looked across to Lex, feeling slightly guilty about what he had just shared. He knew he would be feeling very jealous had she said the same thing to him. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and brought her in for a hug. “What about you, you mentioned you had a boyfriend before?”
Lex winced. Was she really about to have this chat with him? She supposed it was only fair after everything that had just taken place. “I uh, yeah I did.” She started, trying to gather her words, thinking of the best way to describe her shitty relationship with her toxic ex boyfriend. “We were together like, maybe 3 years. We got together in our senior year and only made it a couple years out.”
“What happened, why did you break up?” Eddie’s curiosity was completely fair.
“He wasn’t… He wasn’t the best boyfriend to me.” Lex started out soft. “He would make me feel really worthless, stupid. He knew that if he knocked me down I wouldn’t have the courage to leave him.” Eddie frowned, feeling concerned with where this was going. “Of course those feelings were already kind of there, but he knew how to amplify them.”
“Lex, that’s horrible.” Eddie offered, wanting her to continue.
“I lost all of my friends, I mean all of them. If he didn’t like someone I had to cut them off, and he would say things like my friends were sluts, and they would lead me astray. I couldn’t leave the house without him texting me constantly and if I took too long to reply he would get really mad.” Eddie studied Lex’s face, a look of disbelief on his. “Anyway, I became really depressed and spent most of my time sitting in his room watching him play video games. One day when he got up from the computer to make some food I saw a message from another girl pop up on his facebook, he was cheating on me.”
Eddie was in total disbelief now. “Wow.”
“When I confronted him about it, he started yelling and screaming and saying it was my fault, that I didn’t give him enough attention and that I made him feel like he wasn’t good enough for me and he… He was physical with me that night and I decided that everything had gone too far and I snuck out in the night. I moved here and have never looked back.”
“Lex…” Eddie tried to speak but words weren’t coming out of his mouth. “You did not deserve that, you know nothing was your fault, right?”
Lex shrugged. “At the start I didn’t, I thought it was because I was such a shitty girlfriend that’s why he treated me that way… But I’ve sort of come to the conclusion he is an asshole.”
“Such an asshole. I’m glad you’re out of that situation, Lex.” Eddie soothed her, leaning in to kiss her on the forehead. “I promise you I would never treat you that way. I’ll always protect you.”
Lex smiled and leaned into Eddie’s chest. “Yeah I know, you’ve done a pretty good job of protecting me so far.”

Eddie and Chrissy leave prom early because Eddie kept teasing her??? Either with dirty talk during a slow dance or Eddie touching her thighs (and keepsgoing higher) while they sit at a table together?? I just know he won't be able to keep his horniness to the side when she looks like a princess.
The energy inside the gymnasium at Hawkins high was unmatched; It was prom night for Hawkins students, the best night of their lives. So why was Chrissy leaving so early?
~
Chrissy was the queen of Hawkins high, and she made sure to dress accordingly. She had opted for a simplicity, a white off the shoulder dress. Of course it was expected for Chrissy to be looking absolutely stunning, but everyone’s jaw dropping when she arrived wasn’t for how she looked, but who she was with.
Eddie proudly had Chrissy’s arm tucked around his, walking her inside. While he was so against shit like this, he knew how much it meant to Chrissy and he absolutely couldn’t say no to her. He knew he was in for a long night, but what was positively killing him was how much he wanted to rip Chrissy’s dress of her perfect body and fuck her silly.
He tried, he really tried to behave, but he was under her spell. It began simply sitting around their table, Eddie’s hand finding her thigh. Chrissy continued her conversation with her friends, desperately trying to ignore his wandering hand getting dangerously close to where she so desperately needed him.
Inches away from discovering just how wet she was, she interrupted her friend. “Let’s dance.” Chrissy blurted out, her hand snapping to his to stop him reaching any further up.
Eddie smirked, more than happy to take up her offer to dance with each other and flaunt the fact that he had the hottest girl at school wrapped around his finger. His hands found her hips, drawing her in closely as they slow danced. He toyed with how low he could slowly inch his hands before he was met with another warning.
“Eddie.” Chrissy looked up to see his cheeky grin.
“What?” He asked nonchalantly, his dark puppy dog eyes sparkling as he tried to maintain his innocence.
“I think we both know what you’re doing.”
Eddie faked confusion. “Dancing?”
Chrissy rolled her eyes. “Mmm I think you’re trying to turn me on.”
Eddie grinned. “Is it working?”
“Eddieee.” Chrissy rested her head on his chest, knowing she won’t be able to keep a straight face if she was looking into his eyes, unwilling to admit how close she was to giving in to him.
“Mmm?” He hummed, leaning his head close to hers to whisper in her ear. “Because I really hope it is, all I can think about is bending you over right here in the middle of the dance floor, showing everyone in this room just how good you are for me.” Eddie purred, hearing her swallow against his chest. Oh it was working alright.
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you? To have everyone know how bad you want me, how much you like being fucked by the freak.” Eddie lifted one hand off his hips to brush her hair behind her ear. “How hard you cum for me every time, crying out my name.”
Chrissy had her eyes tightly shut, head still pressed against his chest. He knew exactly how bad he was getting to her, that he had her right where he wanted her.
“I bet you’d like me to make you cum, hmm princess?” Eddie asked, his hand grabbing the hair at the nape of her neck and forcing her to look up at him. Her eyes met his and a soft gasp escaped her lips. His eyes were dark, wild looking, lustful. “Answer me.” He commanded.
And that was it; that was all it took. Chrissy could care less about the silly little prom, all her stupid classmates. All she cared about was Eddie, and right now all she wanted to be doing was riding his dick until they were both coming undone.
“Let’s go.” Chrissy broke her silence, tone dead serious, making Eddie double take. His eyes narrowed, watching her facial expression for more information.
“But you’ve been so excited for prom all-“
“Eddie, screw prom. Take me back to your trailer and fuck me.” Chrissy maintained her serious stare into his eyes, and he realised she actually was being serious.
The fact that Chrissy Cunningham, queen of Hawkins high, social butterfly and leading candidate for prom queen was willing to blow off this whole thing to go fuck him had him weak. Eddie fucking loved this girl.
They shared a final exchange of glances and a shrug before they hurried out of the school, giggling at how stupid the whole prom thing actually was.
And while Eddie had every intention of getting Chrissy back to his, a quick fuck in his van seemed like the perfect end to a perfect night.

You sat on the edge of Eddie’s bed, knees tucked up to your chest with your arms wrapped around them tightly. It had been at least two minutes since anyone had spoken after you rocked up at Eddie’s trailer unannounced.
Eddie watched you carefully, trying to figure you out in his head. The two of you had been spending more time together lately and he had begun to understand when you were anxious, when you needed space. He could clearly see all the signs written across your body language, but you insisted to come inside and speak with him.
Eddie so desperately wanted to break the silence, but remained quiet waiting for you to speak, in fear of scaring you off.
You looked across at Eddie, sitting patiently on the bed beside you, eyes soft and caring. As much as you wanted to speak, your words couldn’t escape your mouth, your heartbeat could be felt in your throat. “I…” You choked on your words, encouraging you to remain silent.
Eddie cocked his head and leaned in close, wrapping his arm around you. “Whatever you need to say, take your time. I’d sit here all day with you in silence if I needed to.”
Eddie’s unconditional support was so overwhelming, a luxury you weren’t used to receiving. You already loved this boy so much, which is why it was important to speak to him today before things became serious. “You know how I have some… quirks?” You asked, a soft chuckle coming from Eddie’s mouth.
“Yeah?” He asked hesitantly, unsure where this was going.
“Well, it’s just that… I really like you and I know sometimes I get caught up with these ideas and sometimes get a bit mad or accuse you of…” You began to ramble, Eddie rubbed his hands supportively along your arms making you lose place in your whole speech you had planned out. “Or like when I completely withdraw and ignore you for days even though it’s really not your fault and I feel so guilty afterwards and-“
“Hey hey hey.” Eddie interrupted you as you began to tear up, the conversation was so much harder than you had anticipated. “You know that doesn’t bother me, we’ve spoken about this.” You looked across to meet Eddie’s eyes with yours, a single tear rolling down your cheek. He reached up and wiped the tear away, rubbing your cheek a few more times to comfort you. “You can always talk to me though, I’m here for you.”
You appreciated how sweet he was being, but he was missing the point. Well, in his defence you hadn’t gotten to the point yet. “Eddie, you know how I speak to someone about this stuff, every month?”
“Yeah.” He nodded, trying to follow along.
“Well, I had that appointment again a few days ago, and I found out that I have… I was diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder.” You choked out the words, somehow feeling way more anxious yet also relieved all at the same time.
Eddie looked at you blankly, trying to process what you had just said. You were really panicking now, was he rethinking everything with you? Was this too much for him to deal with? “I don’t know what that means, but I know that whatever it is we can handle it together.”
You were stunned. “Really? What if it gets worse? What if it develops in to full-blown schizophrenia… What if-“
Eddie cut you off. “Hey! I mean it, there’s absolutely nothing that could stop me from being with you.”
You look up into his eyes and tears began to well again, happy tears. “Eddie, you have no idea how much you mean to me. How much that means to me.”
Eddie shrugged. “Mmm I do recall you starting this off by saying you really like me.” He grinned, making you playfully hit him.
“After everything I just said to you, that’s what you focus on.” You laughed, in utter disbelief how this whole thing had gone so damn well. You expected tears, screaming, running away and the possibility of losing Eddie forever.
“Oh of course.” Eddie stated proudly. “It’s not every day such someone so gorgeous admits they like you.”

Chapter Five
Eddie woke before Lex had begun to stir, just able to make out her sleeping figure with the tiniest bit of light coming from behind the curtains. He felt comfort in sharing a bed with her, but he was afraid of the hurt to come, because it never ends well. Eddie couldn’t help but to be plagued by his own anxieties, scenarios playing out in his head.
He rolled over to get comfortable again which woke Lex, “Eddie.” She spoke softly, still half asleep. She instinctively reached out for him, her hand grazing the cold skin of his arm. Pulling him away from his spiralling thoughts, he turned into her touch and grabbed her hand in his. He knew he was already in too deep to turn back now, so what was the harm in giving in?
Eddie moved in closer and wrapped his arm around Lex, pulling her against his body. He let himself enjoy the moment, breathing in the smell of her hair and feeling the warmth from her body. It had been such a long time since he allowed himself to feel this, and he wasn’t going to waste a moment not enjoying it. Lex felt his breath against her neck, his arm tenderly wrapped around her wait. She welcomed this warm change from his previous stand-offish nature.
“Good morning.” Eddie hummed, still taking pleasure in this simple moment.
“Morning.” She purred back, a smile drawing across her face as she was certainly awake now. To her surprise, Eddie tenderly kissed her neck. In response Lex pushed her hips back to meet his body. I wonder if vampires… Lex’s thought was broken by Eddie pressing back into her, his erection becoming painfully clear.
Lex turned around to face Eddie, finding his face and pressing her lips to his. He reciprocated the kiss, going from soft pecks to a passionate exchange. Eddie ran his hands down her body, finding the edge of top before dipping his hands underneath. She jumped at the touch of his cool hands against his skin, making him chuckle into the kiss. “Sorry.” he mumbled, pulling away.
“It’s okay.” Lex reassured him, reaching down to grab his hand and run it up her body, encouraging him to continue. “It’s just different.”
Eddie grinned, exploring her supple body under her clothes, continuing to kiss her deeply. His hands grazed against her boobs, pleased that there wasn’t a bra in the way. Running his thumb over her nipple before giving it a gentle pinch caused a moan to escape from Lex’s mouth. Soon enough their clothes were flung onto the floor, breaking apart from their kissing as each piece was removed.
“I’ll turn,” The kissing continued, “the light…on” Lex tried to break away but Eddie grabbed her arms before she could step off the bed. His mind flashed over the thought of Lex seeing all the scars on his body, tiny painful reminders of the life he is forced to live out. “Eddie?”
“We can leave them off.” Eddie spoke firm enough that Lex didn’t question him, if he wanted the lights off then that was fine. He pulled Lex back towards himself, laying her down on the bed beneath him. Her sweet scent was driving him wild, Eddie was unsure whether it was hunger or because he was so turned on, but he was fighting through the urge to reveal his vampiric face, which was another reason he was thankful to keep the lights off.
Trailing down her body he left tiny kisses and nibbles before briefly resting between her thighs. Lex could feel his breath on her bare pussy, the anticipation of him to touch her was overwhelming. She didn’t have to wait long until his mouth was on her, tongue exploring her folds almost teasingly, intentionally avoiding her clit. Lex ran her hands through his hair, wrapping her fingers around some of the soft curls trying to drag him to where she so desperately needed him.
Eddie gave in, knowing exactly what she needed he flicked his tongue over her clit sending a surge of pleasure through her body. He was relentless now, continuing his assault over the sensitive bud as she began to moan and cry out, arching her back against the bed. “Fuck Eddie.” She praised breathlessly, eyes rolling into the back of her head. She thought Eddie had definitely had time to perfect his technique, because this was the best she had ever felt.
“I know.” He purred smugly. Eddie added two fingers into the mix, pressing them inside and curling them upwards. He loved watching her come undone beneath him, his fingers rhythmically moving to complement his tongue as he could hear the heightening of her breath, her moans becoming more urgent. She was dangerously close to her orgasm as Eddie cruelly pulled away, eliciting a disappointed whine from Lex’s mouth.
He grabbed her hips firmly as he pulled her towards him, Lex enthralled by the strength that Eddie had, knowing he could throw her around the room with very little effort. Not afraid to show it either; Eddie wrapped his hand around Lex’s throat and turned her head so he could whisper in her ear, “Are you ready?”
Lex opened her mouth to respond but Eddie slammed inside of her, her words getting caught into a moan. The pleasure was so intense from having been right on the edge to him thrusting mercilessly into her, hitting that sweet spot every time. Lex wrapped her hands around Eddie’s triceps, digging her nails into his skin trying to hold on to something to ground herself. His hand wrapped firmly around her throat, expertly placed to restrict the blood flow to her brain making her feel fuzzy. Lex was in pure ecstasy; she had never been fucked like this before. It was equally terrifying and so hot, knowing how in control he was and that she was being completely dominated.
Eddie was losing control within himself, feeling the raw, animalistic side of sex coming out in him. Being turned changed him in many ways, and he hated to admit how primal he became when in the heat of the moment. Years worth of pent up sexual energy and need was flowing out of him, too horny to care how rough he was being, each thrust getting him that step closer to release. He couldn’t let himself get too carried away though, his true form threatening to show through.
Lex was in a state of complete bliss, moaning through being choked as she was approaching her orgasm once again. She too was getting carried away, embarrassed to admit how much it was turning her on to be completely used this way, to feel like a plaything for the strong vampire. She knew it was probably wrong to feel this way, immoral even, but in her current state Eddie could do literally anything to her and she would love it.
His thrusts never faltering, he leaned in to whisper in her ear again. “You fucking love it, don’t you?” He moaned before kissing her neck, feeling her pulse spring back as he let up slightly on his grip. Eddie could see how blissed out she was, and he was eating it up.
All Lex could do was nod, too far gone to form words. Eddie’s head stayed buried at her neck, his kissing turning to nibbles as he toyed with the idea of giving in to the dark thoughts his vampire brain threw at him. Drain her. Fuck her and drain her. Eddie shook his head, pulling away from her neck and taking his aggression out by thrusting even more violently.
Lex knew where his mind was going, and for whatever reason her little fucked out mind was just as twsited as his. “Bite me.” Lex managed to get out between moans. She knew the danger behind those two little words but she was only turned on more by the thought of being at his complete mercy.
“What?” Eddie slowed his thrusts, doing a double take wondering if he had actually heard her correctly or his brain was playing naughty tricks on him.
“Bite me.” Lex repeated, confidently. “Do it, it’s okay.”
Eddie growled, pushing himself off her completely and retreated to the other side of the bed.
Lex froze, unsure how to approach what just happened. The sudden loss of pleasure causes her mind to scramble back to some common sense. “Eddie? I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to-”
“You can’t say that, Lex.” Eddie interrupted her, his tone serious, pained. “You don’t get it. You don’t get the weight behind what you’re asking. I’m a vampire Lex. A fucking monster.”
Lex jumped across the bed to comfort Eddie but he pulled away. “Eddie, I don’t think you’re a monster.”
“Yeah? That’s because you don’t know what’s going through my head.” Eddie choked on his words, emotion coming through. “You have no idea how bad I wanted to drain you completely.” He whispered the last part, just loud enough for Lex to understand.
“Eddie-” Lex began but she was interrupted once again.
“This isn’t a game, Lex.” Eddie took his anger out on her, but truthfully he was afraid of himself. There was a fine line between his human brain and his vampire brain. “It changes you. No matter how hard you try and squash that dark voice in the back of your head it’s always there.”
Lex felt awful. She was having the literal best sex of her life and managed to completely ruin it with a few careless words. In the moment she couldn’t hate herself any more if she tried. She approached Eddie again, this time he allowed her to wrap her arms around him. “I’m really sorry, Eddie. I didn’t mean to set you off like this.”
Eddie exhaled deeply, gathering himself before he spoke again. “I just need you to understand how serious this is. I bite you…Worst case you could die Lex. I..I don’t know that I’d have the strength to stop.”
Lex kept her arms around him tightly, trying to comprehend what he was saying. “You could… You could turn me?”
Eddie broke away from her arms and stood up to face her, thankful it was still dark so she couldn’t see the tears in his eyes. “You don’t want that. You know what you’re asking Lex.” Eddie tried to compose himself again, hating how emotional he was being. “I could never do that to you. Never. Why would you even want that? You have your whole life-”
“What life?” It was Lex’s turn to interrupt him, becoming upset with how out of control this was becoming, feeling like she was about to lose him all over again. “I am fucking miserabale.” Lex began to cry. “The best thing that’s happened to me in a while has been you.”
Eddie stood there dumbfounded, taking it all in before responding. “I know the feeling.” Eddie was terrified, he knew the repercussions to allowing this relationship to happen and it was already becoming clear his hesitation was warranted. “I don’t want you to feel the pain that I do, Lex. To have to suffer through multiple lifetimes of seclusion and hiding amongst the shadows.”
“You don’t have to be alone, not if I’m going through it with you.” Lex pleaded.
“You’re not listening.” Eddie snapped. “I don’t care how bad you think your life is, but it will never be worse than what I am going through. I can’t do that to you, you can’t ask me to.”
Lex remained silent, Eddie following suit. An awkward silence was shared before Eddie grabbed his scattered top and pants from the floor and retreated to the bathroom. Lex laid back on the bed, grabbing a pillow and began to sob into it. She was mad at herself, so fucking mad. Wondering why she was like this, why she had known him for a whole 5 minutes and just begged him to turn her into a vampire to live out some sick little romantic vampire fantasy? No wonder Eddie refused to turn her, then he would be stuck with her for the rest of eternity.
Eddie turned the shower on in the bathroom, unable to come to terms with what had just unfolded. His heart ached for Lex, her anguish was clear and he just wanted to make it all go away. But the solution wasn’t turning her, he could not go the rest of his days with that guilt, knowing he had robbed her from a normal life.
