Huh, she always seemed to find herself out there, even after all the commotion, on the small cliff that jutted out just above the Waterfall Cave. Perhaps it was because it brought back childhood memories; perhaps it was something else, something that drew her there again and again. She recalled the comment she had made while there such a long time ago… Now that she had gotten the chance to actually experience the Surface in all its beauty and vastness, it had become a time-old memory; just an echo.
She adored the company of her old friend, her Loftwing. It had seemed like decades had passed since the beginning of her journey, yet it had unbelievably been a much shorter period of time. And her Loftwing had been waiting faithfully for her return, and she was glad. The thought made her smile, as she leaned further into her bird’s downy feathers, resting her side against the creature.
Her legs hung precariously over the edge of the cliff, dangling and moving with the wind that blew. An azure gaze swept the expanse of the island, and further to the clouds above the Surface. She remembered why she was here in the first place: after spending a bit of time living on the Surface, she wished to visit her father back on Skyloft; and so Link had given her the luxury of flying back up to their old home, and she relished every moment. Every memory, every reminiscence.
As for Link, he too had been relishing the return to Skyloft. The familiar scents, sounds... well, he probably hadn't missed out on it as much as Zelda had. That entire time while she'd been missing, everyone in town was wondering why he was catching strange bugs and making weird potions and buying new shields when there was really no threat that they were aware of. No one really bothered him, but he could admit he got strange looks every so often, due to the fact he would disappear for great periods of time and come back a little banged up. Even so, rarely did anyone raise question.
So, suffice to say, he had some catching up to do with all the people he'd completed quests for, asking him about the Surface and the like. The shopkeepers that wanted him to continue buying their services, and of course Pipit's mother who wanted him to clean their house, for old time's sake...
This place was nothing less than his home.
But, home is where the heart is, he supposed. Of course, he'd been doing all this running around while Zelda was off speaking with her father, whom Link has briefly said hello to before leaving the father and daughter to catch up. He couldn't be more glad that he reunited them, honestly. Even if he didn't have parents to return to, he was glad that he had at least saved her father from a life time of grief--not to mention saved Zelda's life, and all!Â
After what he presumed was enough chit chatting, the lad would find himself in search for the Goddess, trotting about rather dumbly and waving hello to the many familiar faces that called out to him, apologizing yet again because he was in a hurry--
But just like always, he always knew where to find her.Â
"You're over here, after all."
And she'll find the hero right at her side (like always), plopping down next her.
