Occupation: Kabuki Performer
Quiet, soft spoken, and mysterious Shirahane is a gentle, kind and sweet natured. He loves performing, and his only true passion is his art and love for theater. Despite how nervous humans get around him he never judges them for it and is always deeply understanding. He loves to dress up in feminine clothing, adorn himself in fine kimonos, and make up and make himself as pretty as he can in hopes others will find his scales less unsettling. Deep down he just wants acceptance, and understanding--- But don't mistake his kindness for weakness. Shirahane is a vicious fighter, when pressed and will fight to protect those he considers precious.
Serpent Sense: Like all Nagaji, Shirahane can use his tongue to taste the air and sense those around him. However this unique skill goes a step further allowing him to sense magic as easily as he can sense person or object. So while his eyes aren't keenest in the dark he has little need for them.
Contortionist: As a Nagaji, with constrictor heritage Shirahane is quite flexible, limber, and can contort himself into what most would consider uncomfortable or even painful positions. But for him it hardly bothers him.
Scaled Hide: Like all Nagaji his scales are quite tough, giving his soft body a surprising durability.
Tachimawari: A style of martial arts developed within the Kabuki theater, mixes a variety of martial arts together (such as Jujitsu and Kenjutsu) into a stylish martial arts. Using grabs, and holds to easily defend against attackers, Shirahane is surprisingly skilled fighter should he ever choose to use it--- thankfully he doesn't like to fight.
Mystic Dance: Using his dances, Shirahane can mix in his spiritual energy into his dances allowing him to afflict his enemies with offensive magic, and his allies with defensive magic.
Shirahane doesn't remember much from before he joined the Troupe that would become like his family. Before the days performing, and before he found the joy of the theater. When the Lung Wa empire fell, he was left alone and to young to remember his family. He doesn't remember if they abandoned him, or if they perished during the empires fall. He likes to believe that it wasn't malice or hatred that left him alone and hungry in the streets. He's merely glad he found a home when he knows many others were not as lucky as he was.
His youth was hardly easy though, traveling from city to city, admiring the kabuki performers and tending to the horses, and needs of the performers. Being a child in the theater taught him discipline, and a sort of bravery he wouldn't have found anywhere else. He was lucky to have been adopted by such a reknown performer as Jiro Shirahane, and even allowed to take there surname. Though Jiro has long since retired--- It was now his turn to take up that name and show the theater he was worthy of the title!
But fate often has other plans... When the attack came no one in the troupe was prepared. Who could have predicted that Oni would rip through the camp, killing half the performers, and many others being taken. He took a vicious blow to the head while trying to escape--- when he woke his family lie in ruin.
Alone, once more He found himself wandering aimlessly trying to find joy in what he does. Making people smile, and remembering his lost family by continuing to perform--- Yet wondering if he'll ever find happiness again.
