🎃Celebrating Samhain 101🎃
🍁So what’s Samhain?
Often known as the witches new year, Samhain (sow-in) is the pagan festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter. It is said that that the veil between our world and the spirit world is the thinnest.
🥧When is it?
It begins the evening of Oct. 31 and ends the evening of Nov. 1
🍺Food & drinks: apples, pumpkin, squash, grains, corn, beer, wine, root veggies, pomegranates, potatoes, hazelnut
🍯Crystals: pretty much any black crystal, smokey quartz, fluorite, bloodstone, carnelian
🦊Herbs & spices: Patchouli, rosemary, cloves, sandalwood, sweetgrass, sage, cinnamon, nutmeg
🧀Activities:
Go for a cemetery or nature walk
Cook some old family recipes
Divination!! This is the best time of year for it (in my opinion)
Make a bonfire
Set up an altar to honor your ancestors
Collect fallen leaves/acorns
❗️Before anyone asks, no, you do not have to be pagan to celebrate (:❗️

“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.”
— Buddha (via naturaekos)
I Earned You
Yes
I am Still
Waiting on
Words that
Won’t
Ever
Come.
Yes-
I have earned this silence
So you can be who
You Want.
It doesn’t matter what it costs me.
Because
We became separate
Before you were desperate.
“People pontificate, “Suicide is selfishness.” Career churchmen like Pater go a step further and call in a cowardly assault on the living. Oafs argue this specious line for varying reason: to evade fingers of blame, to impress one’s audience with one’s mental fiber, to vent anger, or just because one lacks the necessary suffering to sympathize. Cowardice is nothing to do with it - suicide takes considerable courage. Japanese have the right idea. No, what’s selfish is to demand another to endure an intolerable existence, just to spare families, friends, and enemies a bit of soul-searching.”

Altar Update: September 2018
After over 40 hours of work and at least twice as many imagining the idea, my new bedroom and altar have finally crossed over from dreams into reality! I just finished my Mabon altar cloths and my new drapes this weekend during the Equinox holiday, and I am so thrilled to share them with everyone.
Since I’m designing the rooms in my home after different seasons, my bedroom will keep these lovely Autumn trees year round. After the incredible amount of effort it took to build them, I intend on enjoying them for years to come.
Welcome to my Sanctuary!
Modern witchcraft is a fascinating phenomenon
It’s fascinating the way modern witchcraft is this giant amalgam of old and new traditions. Like, we have witches who are getting super into crystals and Buddhist meditation. Witches who keep their BOS online and do things like make sigils under their nail polish. Witches who embrace ancient shamanistic practices of earth worship and animism, and witches who use modern technology to work their magick. Witches who worship Frida Kahlo. Witches who worship the most primordial earth goddesses. Witches who worship no one.
We’re quickly approaching a new era (the Fourth Turning, as some describe it), and our renewed interest in magick, spiritual fulfillment, and the spirit world reflects that. The old ways of magick-working still run through our veins, calling us back to a time when we heeded our inner magick and the world of spirits all around us. And our unique expressions of witchcraft perfectly sum up how diverse and pervasive this desire to connect with our inner power is.
Witchcraft isn’t “fake” if it incorporates new elements from all across cultures. Witchcraft evolves and changes with the human race. As we grow, so does our craft. Keep on being yourself and shaping your craft based on what YOU feel is powerful and awe-inspiring.
Don’t ever feel stupid or “not good enough” if you don’t have a classically Wiccan or otherwise old-timey craft. We are all evolving together. Let your inner power shine!
“Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it.”

Non-hetero is not bad. Neither is being hetero. This month is about non-hetero identifying folx accepting who they are and who they love. If your family or friends dump on you for being you, give them time..but take no shit. Your chosen family is out there too ♡ I love you xo
