s.4 nygmob meta
Okay so I need to organize what we know thus far. For myself and for you guys if you want to read on what we know nygmob-wise.
Cory says the revenge plot is over and tired and says he believes Oswald misses Ed.
It is stayed they don’t interact much during the first half of the season.
Oswald is supposed to rekindle his connection to ‘love’ and his emotions. Towards the mid-season, when it is stated they probably reunite again. It is said they are still intertwined in each other’s lives.
Killing someone in Gotham means you “Care” and hate and love are of the same coin according to Cory and Robin.
We also got this wonderful tweet that had me lit today.
I’m not even going to entertain the Sofia/Oswald theory since it is only derived from paranoia (rightfully so considering how robin lie taylor talks). I think we have a very good possibility of Oswald admitting out loud and to move the plot forward, that he is still in love with Edward Nygma. I’m going to be mostly not using anything Robin has said for a basis for my theory. I don’t trust his word at face value.
If the revenge plot is truly over, and Ed and Oswald are still intertwined in each other’s lives, there is going to be some emotions rekindling and being rebooted. Robin did say and I believe this to be true (in relation to oswald’s feelings for ed) that it is “never over in Gotham.” If two characters have had a romantic connection, it doesn’t disappear, even if the other characters find other partners along the way. So we already know that.
And from the way the cast has been talking i’m guessing Ed and Oswald have interactions later in the first half of the season, but we’re really going to get more the second half. It’s also all adding up with how Oswald is going to be emotionally the mid-season; he’s going to be back in touch with love and his emotions, which could mean so many things especially if Ed is back in the picture. Cory and the rest of the Cast have been talking so positively about nygmobblepot as well. We’re definitely in for some reconciliation I believe, and I really think Oswald might accept that he is still in love with Ed by the mid season. Where we go from there? I don’t know.
I will say for some positivity towards Ed though, Cory has seemed giddy that their lives are still intertwined and says “we’ll see” in regards to nygmob. We also have the fact that “killing someone in gotham means you care” and “hate is the equivalent to love in gotham” which sorta leads me to believe they’re trying to hint that Ed cares more about Oswald than he’s letting on.
I know this is long and isn’t like some big meta that explains a lot of things, but I really have a good feeling about season 4 and where we are going with Ed and Oswald’s relationship. I think Sofia is going to play a major role in Oswald coming to terms with his own inner emotions/love for Ed again. And I think Ed being dumb for a while might make him have a different outlook on everything for a while. Their separation is good for them, and I really think when they come back together, we’re going to get a start of something fresh.
