Of all the professional gay oriented photographers of the late 1960s and early 1970s, “Richard” of “Richard Model Exclusives” (RMX) is the most mysterious. No one is even sure of his last name. He provided material to J. Brian in San Francisco for some of his early publications and well as Milton Luros’ gay magazines. Later he worked exclusively for a mafia owned company known as Timely Publications/Overstock Book Company.

It was Richard Morgan’s group, usually identified as Richards Model Exclusives, or RMX. I rarely met him –in California and Florida– photographers handled us. I’m I sure met J. Brian (whom we called just “Jay”) –though I definitely was not one of his boys. It was a different time, and the age line at 18 was not, shall we say, invariably observed.
