Why is it the people with the least amount of creativity when it comes to musical taste are always the ones who play their music the loudest ? It's bad enough it sucks but they want you to know it sucks beyond any doubt . Not only is the music not fit for a five year old but then they set it to repeat . People who play sucky music suck themselves . http://edrlopez.blogspot.com/ http://twitter.com/edrlopez My posts in Get Real Philippines.

Transcript Of My Video Blog
Hello this is your friendly neighborhood Gogs and this is the first ever gogs Get real midweek update for Oct 10 2012. I am here before you because it is God's will and what can I tell you? Since I have 119 days before the Cyberact really kicks in , let me share some more candid observations with you all. I was told Tuesday in my last contribution that I should not mix politics with TV shows. Huh ? Not mix them? Where do you think Senators come from? There is a saying that you can't pick your family but you can pick your cabinet members. You can certainly pick you covert errand boys as well. Since it was supposed to be a secret I will respect Noynoy's privacy even if he won't respect mine with his cyber act that he signed and just refer to the secret mystery errand boy as Waldo. I want to thank my fellow GRP writers for recognizng my mantra that KSP root of all evil. Its alleged that Senator Sotto .had something to do with slipping the libel portion in the last minute All this sleight of hand reminds me of a Scene from Game of Thrones. episode Win or Die. Lord Eddard Stark gets the dying King Robert to sign a document about succession only to have the evil yet foxy Queen Cersi to tear it up. Making it null and void. I have no idea who would drive to me the idea that De Lima was foxy . Is that libel? Sotto is funnier to me in his "serious" job than he ever was in slapstick job. Which brings to mind the famous Stonehenge scene from Spinal Tap where it was not pleasant to be part of the comedy on stage. Lets look at one of the honorable senators pitfalls that lead to his so called cyber bullying. Somebody convinced Sotto that if they translated a Robert Kennedy speech to Tagalog this strange do-hickey called Google won't pick it up. I think that aide forgot to make allowAnce that somebody reading or listening to that speech might actually have a brain. This week just when you thought Senator Sotto would run out of quotable quites he adds another . He basically said in the vernacular I will do it because Noynoy says so referring once again to the support of the cyberact. Nice to see Noynoy giving videogames a rest and resorted to more traditional games like Simon Sez . We know at least Senator Sotto is playing. A few weeks back Trillanes , Noynoy and Enrile in the Senate all pointing fingers over the Chinese territorial dispute negotiation. I am glad that there is one institution in this country that points more than fingers President Benigno Aquino was quoted that he will follow through with enforcing the cyberact lest he risk impeachment for derelict of duty . So I guess putting undue personal influence on the legal system, coercing 188 Congressmen to sign an article of impeachment , not reading/ comprehending laws that have your signature that end up being controversial etc. Oct 9 2012 the Supreme Court voted unanimously to issue a temp rest order on the Philippine Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. Which makes one wonder why it was so hastily put together and should it have been past in the first place. One way this law would have never been signed by Noynoy if someone inserted a provision in the bill banning all Filipnos from playing Call of Duty online on PS3 and Xbox 360 , Noynoy never would have signed it, case closed go back to blogging nothing to see here. If you recall last month in the Second Integrity Summit held in Makati , the President told the audience he prefers to pick up the can rather than kick it down the road. So he wont kick a can. But former president Gloria Arroyo though it's ok to kick again and again and again. Face it Philippines, garbage in garbage out. Politicians joke qualifications= joke results not sure how you expected any differently. I had no idea the daang matuwid was supposed to be filled with Jokes. ONCE again this is Gogs , don't forget the libel portion of the cyber law was made by morons who did moronic things and did not appreciate being called morons as a result . ******************************************************* Not really a transcript but notes I worked from. Visit to Home Of The Angels
I was invited to this place and so glad I was able to go. Home for the Angel's is a special place. It's basically a holding home for babies as they await getting legally adopted. I am an outspoken abortion critic and you can read about my views on that http://cornholiogogs.multiply.com/tag/abortion . Once in a while a person on the other side of the spectrum will argue that that some people don't want the abortion then don't take any action with the baby whose life is not terminated by abortion. Well this place answers that question. I love writing but why not let the pictures speak for themselves. Each baby here is already a miracle and given a shot at redemption. A chance to light up the lives of a couple who for whatever reason want a baby that somebody else has given up. Just in our short visit I saw the kids with their different personalities. Each child here is already a story and will continue to be a story. I don't mean this to implore you for donations but in case it occurs to you let me know. Before You Figure Out RH Bill Figure Out This
Literally Taken From Today's Headlines . To be fair this is a tabloid but just shows you the depth our literacy goes here. There is no use doing whatever is proposed in the RH bill if things like this are not addressed first. I am sure this contributes to our population growth. Congratulations again to People's Journal Tonight for crack journalism on this fine day Sept 21 2012. Glad they were able to scoop the other news sources as the underdog. I hope the upcoming Cyberact of 2012 does not hamper their news gathering prowess. One last thing. Why was I not invited?

Chihuahua in Greenbelt 2
For those of you sick of my political rants. Little changeup for you. Tonight was one of those nights where I saw the traffic and decided to roam Greenbelt instead of get in the driver's seat. I was able to do a few things then came the time to decide where to eat. I saw a niece tonight and I told her the beauty of being single is you get to pick where to eat. The bad part is I argue with myself. Chihuahua just got hold of me with it's tractor beam. I always loved Mexican but dang it, I love hot sauce, hot peppers etc. My stomach may curse me 2-8 hours later but in the words of Styx "whatever the price I'll pay". Chihuahua is a place for me where the food is something you put on the hot sauce. I did not take any pictures because never thought I would blog about it. Anyway order a burrito, taco, nacho bowl and pick your content. Then experiment which sauce will enhance your food. Another plus though I did not avail tonight is they have draft beer. Tonight was at least my third time there if not my fifth. They also have wifi.

I told myself I was going to spend all day reading, but I got hooked on these BBC documentaries, which I recommend. The first is on Roxy Music. Unfortunately, the second half, after the band reforms, is paint by numbers. But the first half, about the formation of the band, the motivation, is educational and inspirational. It was the opposite of today. There was a lot of thinking involved. Bryan Ferry had definite concepts he wanted to get across. And who else could write "In Every Dream Home A Heartache," about a lonely man in a beautiful house who has a relationship with a blowup doll... "I blew up your body But you blew my mind" The tidbits are fascinating. From Eno joining and leaving to the piece de resistance, wherein Bob Clearmountain claims he gets more feedback about mixing "Avalon" than any other project he's been involved in: "It's amazing how many people love that record. I've gotten more comments on that record than anything I've done in my career, by far, you know more than Springsteen, or anything... you mention 'Avalon' and people...'oh, I love that record...my children were conceived to that record.'" I discovered Roxy Music almost by accident. I was in London that summer of '72 and all the newspapers were buzzing about it (multiple weekly music newspapers...I was in heaven!) I purchased the debut, which of course came without shrinkwrap and was sans "Virginia Plain," which was stripped into the American version. My favorite song is "If There Is Something." And I purchased the follow-ups religiously, but it wasn't until "Love Is The Drug" that they had any impact upon America. As for "Avalon"...it was so different from what came before that at first I didn't get it, then it became the make love classic. Yup, that's what you did in the 80's, put "Avalon" on the turntable and had a go at it. And you had to be fast, this was before CDs and the endless loop...although my Technics turntable would repeat a side. And if we're going to the later era, I've got to mention "Oh Yeah" from "Flesh+Blood." Almost completely forgotten, "Oh Yeah" is the quintessence of our musical fandom. We didn't care if it wasn't on the radio, we didn't care if nobody else knew it, we just wanted to escape into our favorite tracks, they made our lives complete. ____________________ The second BBC documentary I watched is entitled: "Sweet Home Alabama - The Southern Rock Saga." I'd like to tell you I learned a lot, but I didn't. But if you're too young to know or remember, it's a good primer. But the reason everybody should watch it is the visuals. Beginning with the footage of Martin Luther King's assassination. Especially listen to Gregg Allman's song about it, "God Rest His Soul." Not only is it great, and fitting, Gregg delineates perfectly how songs write themselves. It doesn't happen all the time, but when you're inspired, the song channels itself through you. And then there's Duane... Who's utterly arrogant! He thinks he's the best and he wants no one to tell him what to do! What a difference from today, where everybody wants to cave to the whim of labels and producers and if they're arrogant about their talent, they've got nothing to back it up. But Duane could just plug in his Les Paul and prove it instantly. His solo on Wilson Pickett's "Hey Jude" was his first recording at FAME...and a breakthrough for a soul record. And the Allmans played 306 gigs in a year. Before they made it, trying to make it. Can you imagine? Might sound glamorous, but this was before plush buses, and despite some drugs and dames, the best two hours of your day were on stage, the rest was utter drudgery. But that's what it took to make it. And there was no guarantee you would. But everybody tried. That's the difference from yesterday and today. The money. That's why everybody wanted to be a rock star, that and the girls. But now the money's been taken away, not by Napster but tech in general. There's much more money in tech and banking and therefore not everybody is playing music, mostly only the young and dumb, and what results is poor and most people don't care. Music used to rule the world! That's the way the message got out. And they're playing music today, but we lived through the Renaissance in the sixties and seventies, just watch these documentaries for edification. P.S. Unlike VH1's "Behind The Music," which became an instant cliche, the BBC is not interested in story arc and ratings so much as getting the facts right. We can't do this in America. Oh, that's right, they've got socialist TV in the U.K. P.P.S. It's great to hear Nile Rodgers tell how Chic was inspired by Roxy Music, right down to the album cover. And then how Roxy/Ferry was inspired by them! P.P.P.S. For eons, my favorite cuts on "Avalon" were the opener, "More Than This," and the second side slow burner, "To Turn You On." Then, suddenly, I flipped for the second side opener, "The Main Thing." It's rock, it's dance, it's industrial, it's otherworldly! Whatever the essence of the track is, it's not contained in movies, televisions or books, it's something you feel, as if you've being injected with a serum that inspires you and alters your perception of the world. And no drugs are required! Be sure to listen to not only the original, but the now readily available seven and a half minute remix: http://spoti.fi/QcdpP7 P.P.P.P.S. "Now the party's over..." I've heard these introductory lyrics to "Avalon" to the point they're in my DNA, but they rang true in another way watching this video... The party is truly over, rock is dead. I know the Who sang "Long Live Rock," but watching these documentaries you can see how we were all caught up in music, making our statement, trends coming and going quickly...those days are through.
