Howdy Hey!

I'm Alex! I'm a queer and trans interdisciplinary artist and scientist from SoCal! I'm in my last year of undergrad for Biology and Studio Arts and right now I work in chemistry education research. :)

Another mini print!

Following the theme of trans fish, I present a mini print!!!

There are a rather large number of fish species that are capable of changing their sexes, or that exist somewhere in between or outside of male and female. It's something I find really interesting. In the print is the notorious clown fish, and the bluehead wrasse.

I made this to celebrate 10 years of being out last May!!!! This print is really special to me and we printed it with a steamroller. It's 24"x36"

Trans coyote!!!!

Coyotes are very special and spiritually significant for me. I love including them in my work in a more folk art style. Featuring my cat Shrimp :))

The head and hand were a nightmare to hold up, hence the boxes

Mobula munkiania! The pygmy devil ray!

I made this a couple years ago for an ichthyology course I took. I'm a huge fan of mobulids and their super interesting feeding patterns (definitely recommend finding youtube videos of it)

I made this in illustrator, and it's my first digital science illustration. I think I like doing traditional illustration more.

Coyote! -2022

Another one of my art books! I made it with cardstock, a paint pen, a sharpie, a box cutter, glue, and another cereal box. :)

I made this after seeing a coyote walk down the street. I love coyotes and theyre very significant in meaning to me. I hope you enjoy!

My Angry Trans Fish Book - 2022

This is one of the first art books i made! I made it because I don't really use many labels for myself, and I often feel like I need to dissect myself or cut away parts of my identity and experiences in order to fit into the labels for gender and sexuality that society's made for me. I was interacting with a lot of folks who acted like I only deserved their respect if they could understand the labels I use.

I made it with cardstock paper, some markers, glue, and a cereal box :)

Don't you love it?

I made this one about how much I love my transition! I've been on testosterone for 10 years this December, and I love everything it's done for me. Each new change (whether it be from T or from other aspects of my transition) has felt absolutely magical, and I feel so lucky to be able to partake in the creation of my self, as scary as it can be.
