EFAMILY COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF ORIGAMI LABS’ SOFTWARE PLATFORM
Popular online service to feature iOS and Android applications along with enhanced online capability

Fishers, Indiana – November 5, 2013 – eFamily (www.efamily.com), an online service that helps families connect, share and preserve memories via private family sites, announced today the acquisition of Origami Labs’ software platform. The web-based and mobile software applications will expand eFamily’s range of services, which have included photo, video and story sharing.
“We are excited about the acquisition of Origami’s software,” said eFamily CEO David Hosei. “It will accelerate our business and provide the best software for families to connect with each other to share life’s experiences, no matter the distance.”
eFamily currently has over 30,000 registered accounts, which allow families to share content online via private family sites. The service costs $5 per month (or $50 per year via a discounted annual plan) and allows unlimited users within a family’s private site.
“The feedback we have received from our users has been extremely positive, and we know extending the eFamily service via mobile applications is going to be a big success,” said Hosei.
eFamily’s technology upgrade features mobile applications for Android and iPhone as well as state-of-the-art infrastructure including RackSpace cloud-based hosting, Amazon S3 storage and content backups for consumers through Dropbox. The company is also partnering with Fox.io, a leading web application development firm based out of Launch Fishers in central Indiana.
