“Sure, that sounds fine. Take your time.”
“Wonderful. So, what’ve you been doing since school?”
nadineshafiq:
“I’ll take the lot.”
“Wonderful. I’ll bag it all up for you.”
“Really though, Nad, I’m dying. Did I tell you Heath came in the other day and offered me a job too?”
heythereheath:
“Because when I feel like it I can actually be a nice person. Also a fresh pair of eyes never hurts, and neither does having someone designing who can help with a younger demographic.”
“I’m trying to benefit us both here.”
“Okay, but that doesn’t get away from the fact that you just all of a sudden offered me a job without having seen each other in at least a few weeks.”
“Well – go on then, sell me something.”
“We just got in a lovely purple fabric that’s entirely too difficult to work with unless it’s for accents, if you’d like to buy some?” she teased.
“Uh, sure, secrets safe with me. Anyway, is there a chance you can repair this? It ripped last week and I tried to fix it myself with magic, but well, as you can see it didn’t go that well.”
“Of course I can. I can have it done in about twenty minutes if you want to wait around while I fix it up for you?”
“Please, this is strictly professional. You just called this a creative hell, and I’m using my position to your advantage. Call it charity.”
“Better yet, imagine actually having an oppertunity to design something so impressive it ends up on a runway before a sales floor.”
“Why?”
“So it’s just me getting this stellar service?”
“You get my stellar service at home. This is pure honesty, love.”
“You could always jump ship and try your hand with Gladrags.”
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you just wanted to spend more time with me.”
“Welcome to Madam Malkin’s, my current hell on this planet and the soul sucker for all of my fashion creativity. How may I help you?”
“Also, please don’t tell her I said that to you. She’ll think I just do that to everyone.”
Give me ten minutes.
Great.
Hogsmeade Date || Langston and Effie
He felt like he’d been waiting forever when he finally, actually, saw his girlfriend. He smiled widely and wrapped his arms around her as she rushed toward him and threw her arms around him. “Hi!” he grinned and held her tight, not wanting to let go. Langston already knew it was going to be difficult to say goodbye to her when he had to make his way back up to the castle. But that was not the right thought to have right now. Effie was back in his arms for now, and that was all that mattered.
“I missed you so much,” he muttered and leaned down to give her a lingering kiss, not caring if anyone saw them. “Let’s go inside and find a table far enough away from crowds so we can catch up,” he grinned, taking her hand. Langston led them inside and spotted a table that wasn’t too far out of the way of the bar, but isolated enough that they could talk. “How are you? How’s work? How’s your place?”
Effie nodded, matching his grin and following him inside to the empty table, sitting next to him feeling better than she had in weeks. Who knew that she would end up being someone who looked forward to seeing a boy she had been dating for over a year? She had spent so much time not dating and flitting around that she doubted it was a very expected thing.
“I miss you too. Work is fine, not very wonderful, but that’s alright, it gets better as I go along, so I think it’s just a matter of staying around for longer. Our place is nice, it’s sort of weird living with the girls , because it’s almost like I haven’t left a dorm, but I like it. What about you, how is school so far? I know it hasn’t been that long, but I never know how things are going in the castle.”
Hogsmeade Date || Langston and Effie
Langston was so excited for the Hogsmeade weekend. It wasn’t that he had a lot of shopping to do, though he would absolutely stop into Honeydukes before heading back up to the castle. He was just looking forward to the chance to see Effie. He didn’t realise how much he would miss her once he started back at school. And though it helped to see her and spend a little time with her at the bonfire, it wasn’t the same as seeing her around the castle or seeing her almost every day of the summer. He had sent her a letter asking her to meet him outside of the Three Broomsticks once she got to the village. He didn’t want to take her to the horrid Madam Puddifoots, though he didn’t say that. They wouldn’t be able to catch up at all, knowing how loud it got in there. Plus, it was far too crowded… and pink. As he waited outside of the pub, he kept checking his watch and looking around for his girlfriend. Every time a thin blonde would walk in the general vicinity, he would get a wide smile on his face, but none of them was Effie. He wasn’t so impatient, but it made him wish he had a functioning cell phone to text her, asking where she was. Unfortunately, technology didn’t work anywhere near Hogwarts or Hogsmeade.
Effie, as much as she enjoyed living with her friends and going to work most days instead of school most days, did not enjoy being completely separated from her boyfriend for a full month. She had some idea of how much it would drain her the closer the beginning of school drew near, but she hadn’t been expecting the true frustration of it. And it was frustrating. Going from seeing him at least a few times a week in the summer and every day bring the school year to not at all was like not drinking on the weekends.
It was exactly why she told Madam Malkin she couldn’t work on Hogsmeade weekends. They were some of the only times she could actually see Langston and she didn’t do well with the separation. It was a large part of the reason she never actually did the whole relationship thing before him.
Either way, she apparated down to the village, walking the rest of the way towards the Three Broomsticks, rushing to the crowd towards him when she saw him standing there. “Hey!” she called as she made her way over to him before throwing her arms around him.
What about Italian?
Italian sounds absolutely wonderful.
You’re tolerable.
I’m perfect. You should be nicer to me, you know. This is one of the few times I’ll get to see you this year. Aside from this and Hogsmeade, you’ll be deprived of my pretty face.
Owl Post || Langston & Effie
I’m so sorry I haven’t written. I’ve been so busy. School is kicking my arse, and it’s not even a month in…
If I can get to Hogsmeade this weekend, will you be able to meet me somewhere? I really want to see you. No pressure if you can’t, but I miss you.
And don’t worry about Ace. I never see him around, thankfully.
Love you, Langston
Don’t worry about it, I remember how hard seventh year was. It’s a real shite time, but you’ll get used to it, I swear.
Of course I can get to Hogsmeade, I never miss a Hogsmeade weekend, not even now that I’m out of school.
Good. I don’t either. It’s really wonderful.
XOX Effie
You’re the best.
I finish up soon. Wait for me and we can get some dinner on the way home?
Of course I am. What do you want to do for dinner?
Underground bookstores? Haunted theaters?
Don’t know about anything like that. There is an old abandoned church though.
