“No. I’m just—not making as much money as you.”
“What can I say, nepotism worked in my favor for that one.”
effiemclaggen:
“Why?”
“Because when I feel like it I can actually be a nice person. Also a fresh pair of eyes never hurts, and neither does having someone designing who can help with a younger demographic.”
“I’m trying to benefit us both here.”
“Proud. Jealous. Tell me, have you got an opening for a dear old friend?”
“Ministry life already that awful?”
Owl Post || Heath & Lavinia
You don’t need to tell me it’s ridiculous. It hasn’t stopped me from doling out punishments, of course, but it’s obnoxious. And some of them seem to think that, because they haven’t had detentions before, that lets them off the hook?
I just sighed very loudly in bitter admiration of your success. Your parents must be very proud.
– Lavinia Aubrey
There’s a first time for everything. I think letting them into the school made them feel entitled.
Oh they are. I feel like Dahlia may be planning my death over the holidays though.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you just wanted to spend more time with me.”
“Please, this is strictly professional. You just called this a creative hell, and I’m using my position to your advantage. Call it charity.”
“Better yet, imagine actually having an oppertunity to design something so impressive it ends up on a runway before a sales floor.”
“To at least try, hmm?”
“How’s that working in your—what business is it, again?”
“Please, I don’t have to bother in my business. Not only was making it a larger company my idea, I’m the boss’ kid. I’ve free reign to be a right dick, and I love it.”
“That said, you’d be proud. I’m the picture of professionalism. Most days anyway.”
Owl Post || Heath & Lavinia
If I started counting the days this early, I would be even more depressed. It’s nearly impossible to gain any sort of control around here, even when you are Head Girl, because the minute you put a squib in detention you have a riot.
To answer your question more directly: things are terrible, and there’s nothing I can do about it.
I hope things look better where you are.
– Lavinia Aubrey
If they break the bloody rules they deserve what they get. It’s not like you’re threatening their safety or something. You’d think it be worse if they were breaking curfew, never know what you’ll find in that castle at night. Merlin forbid without magic.
Things are more than better where I am, haven’t you heard. I’ve managed to combine both my parent’s companies, and I’m set to take over the entire thing. I couldn’t have come up with a better plan if I’d tried. Parkinson-Wilkes Designs was a stroke of genius.

“Welcome to Madam Malkin’s, my current hell on this planet and the soul sucker for all of my fashion creativity. How may I help you?”
“Also, please don’t tell her I said that to you. She’ll think I just do that to everyone.”
“You could always jump ship and try your hand with Gladrags.”
Owl Post || Heath & Lavinia
How are things in the land of the squib? Counting the days until graduation yet?
@eldestaubrey
“And since when has that ever been a bad thing?”
“Never, but I’ve been told it’s polite to at least try to be modest.”
With a smug cackle, Frances patted Heath on the shoulder. “There’s the worst, and then there’s you, love.”
“Oh stop, you’ll flatter me.”
“So not necessarily good, but necessarily honest.”
“Yeah. Yeah, that sounds about right. I think.”
“Unbelievable.”
“Someone has to be honest about it.”
“Because good people don’t let other people live in a fantasy world. They shouldn’t, anyway.”
“Funny, I don’t remember saying I was a good person.”
“Public or not, it’s unseemly. Put it away.”
“Not everyone has taste, you know. I’m sure he thinks they look fantastic. Why shatter his illusion.”
“Oh, for the love of Merlin—”
“Oh don’t look so shocked, it’s a public space.”
Fine, she’s one of the two people I report to, but I’m still not certain what her actual, well, point, is.
“But if you report to her she’s still your boss, yeah? At very least your superior.”
