I've just started using HitLeap recently, and have it running (for free!!) on two devices. It's generated thousands of hits in a couple of days. The best thing about it, apart from being a free way of generating additional referrals to other sites and traffic, is that it is essentially set and forget.

Perk is a party of services that pay you to watch videos, take quizzes and surveys, download apps, go shopping, search the web and more.

The mobile apps include PerkTV, Perk PopQuiz, Perk Search, Perk Wallet, PerkScreen and Perk Browser. PerkTV, PopQuiz, PerkScreen and Wallet are the only ones currently available for Australians, but if you use perk.com you effectively get a combination of Search/Browser/Screen apps all in one page.

I found PerkTV through the Reddit /r/beermoney thread, which I thoroughly recommend reading. They also have a dedicated /r/PerkTV thread, which is an interesting read. Scrolling through beermoney was the inspiration behind starting this blog, as there seems to be a dearth of information devoted to helping Australians finding extra income, especially of the passive kind.

Is it really passive?

That's the great thing about PerkTV - the fact that you can leave it running on your iOS or Android phone 24/7 with very little monitoring. It uses very little power at the wall, and if you dim the screen on your device, is apparently fine for your battery. You can have 5 phones per account (and it's recommended not more than 5 phones per household, as Perk may arbitrarily ban multiple users who have been using the same IP address.) Australian users receive 2 points per 2 videos watched, which is sadly half of our US counterparts.

Tips

The trick to earning thousands of points per day is downloading apps to your Android phone/tablet, and/or answering surveys. All you have to do is download the apps and run, and they're typically free and can be deleted as soon as you've received your points.

An alternative is Perk PopQuiz. Pick a subject you know well, and set it to Lightning Round Mode (bar on the left). It gives you half the time to answer the questions, but you receive bonus points - 5 points instead of 4 if you get them correct. This means instead of waiting 2+ minutes for your 2 points for watching trailers, you can get 5 points in 2 minutes (or less, factoring in loading time and the 20-30 seconds of advertisements).

Payouts

I haven't calculated the amount of points my perk farm is currently earning (5 phones), but it's roughly 1400 per day mainly just running the perktv app. So, roughly 9800 points per week, which equates to a $5 paypal gift card or if you can squeeze in 200 more points (definitely achievable) you could get a $10 Amazon giftcard.

Rewards

The problem Australians run into is that most of the giftcards available on rewards are specific to America. You can opt for paypal payouts in USD (ie $5.80= 9000 points), or go to a giftcard exchange such as this one to swap your other gift card voucher numbers for Paypal payouts.

Field Agent

Field Agent is the best passive income earner I've found so far. Well, not so much passive as really decent pay for not a huge amount of (easy) work. Field Agent is a (free) iOS mystery shopping app. You are given a number of tasks dependent on your location (although they do occasionally offer tasks available from anywhere) which involve answering questions and taking one or two photos to verify. They payout anywhere between $6 and $12 AUD per job. You can do as many or as few as you like.

I started this week, and have so far earned $84 for about 2 hours of work (not factoring in driving time of about 2 hours total over several days). Most of the work involves larger shopping centers and department stores, although there are frequently take-out based surveys as well.

You can use any iPhone from 4S and up, or any iPod Touch from 4thGen and up (assuming you have wifi for the latter).

Payout is any amount to Paypal, meaning you have to be 18 years old and have a verified Paypal account. Payouts are approved between about 3 hours and a day.

They do verify your survey answers, and may ask you to clarify or resend if you missed one before they release the funds for a particular job.

So far, there's been a fairly steady stream of jobs available. Even in my city, which is not one of the larger capitals, I estimate you could earn anywhere between $24 - $130+ per week.

Get money for your mining rig - sha256, scrypt, x11 and more. 

If you have a computer sitting around doing nothing, or an old asic mining rig or three, WestHash is probably the best pool for Australians (Nicehash for other countries) for getting the best value for your hashpower. 

Payments (payouts) are issued four times a day if your unpaid balance is greater than 0.04 BTC. Every fourth payment (once per day) is issued if balance is greater than 0.004 BTC. They will do payments for balances greater than 0.0001 BTC once every week. All balances from all algorithms are aggregated into a single payment.

They do rent out mining power, but unless you have significant capital to invest, it becomes quite a costly option. Better to devote your mining power to the pool and reap the income. The setup is easy - you just use your BTC address as your username.

Cointellect has been doing the rounds of the cryptocurrency interwebs as of late, and for good reason. The payouts are ridiculous. Admittedly there is a slight disadvantage in that they only (currently) offer dogecoin and paypal withdrawals, but value in comparison with many other cloud mining services, Cointellect comes out up top. Payouts are calculated in Euros.

I started off by downloading their free software. On 3 computers, all semi-old, I was earning roughly 1.20 Euro per day. I then went ahead and purchased their Demo contract, which only returned an approximate 2 Euro profit, but was worth it to verify that they actually did pay out. There were a few bugs in the system in the first month or so of use, but they seem to have ironed them out with the influx of new users.

I'm currently sitting on a 10mhs contract, which cost approx $145 AUD. It returns, without fail, above 2.22 Euro per day - I don't have any of the software running because it was consistently irritating my antivirus and slowing my computers down. If you don't use the computer much, I'd recommend just running the free software, although the contracts do return you a profit. You can work out the maths, but from about 10mhs upwards you more or less double your investment.

Once this contract runs out, I will likely purchase another. If you don't withdraw your earnings daily, you can use them to reinvest in contracts. They take credit card and bitcoin. 

I like Cointellect because it's very easy to make withdrawals daily, and there's no major fluctuations in payouts or fees (cough GAWminers cough, more on that later). The customer service has been excellent thus far, very quick and helpful. It's also nice to know you have a guaranteed weekly income for the length of time of the contract.

If you work out the value, the Cointellect contracts can be quite pricey given the fact they only last 3-12 months. But, you pay for the reliability, which I have found is worth it.

So far, it seems promising. As with all cloud mining services, be careful not to invest more than you can afford to lose, as you never know what will happen. I've had several services vanish with my money - hashcloudy, markets.cx, coinex.pw for example - which can be incredibly frustrating.

Unquestionably the highest paying, most reliable cloud coin mining site I have found in my travels so far. It takes a little getting used to, and is perhaps therefore not so newbie friendly, but more than worth it if you are at all familiar with cryptocurrency, bitcoin, litecoin et al. 

The main package currently being sold on ltcgear.com is the 1600, which with the discount code anniversary1yr plus purchase in bitcoin (total discount 57%) comes to about $846 USD (which at early Nov rates is $948 AUD).

At current rates, 1600 shares gets you $105USD /$122 AUD (measured against the current value of bitcoin - but, if you sell the litecoins you receive at somewhere like locallitecoins you may end up with more. I use shapeshift.io to transfer funds).

The great thing about this site, all managed seemingly by a single guy named Chris, is not only that if you purchase midweek you'll get a whole week payout, but that Chris provides share multiplications roughly every six weeks, meaning even with litecoin's rising difficulty you're guaranteed a profit. Typically that's x1.35.

Payouts are weekly, currently on Friday (Saturday for Australians).
