Happy Sims 4 Patch Day!!

Are you ready for this? The For Rent patch drops today, and as usual, we will be closing Deaderpool's Discord support channels once it happens, to give creators time to update their mods and custom content... and to give you players time to make sure your own game, and Mods folder, are both updated before you start bringing error files to us.

We are likely to leave our #patreon-exception-support channel open, and possibly our regular chat channels... but this is entirely dependent on people's behavior, and may change at any time.

PLEASE READ OUR #server-info CHANNEL!!! It is there to streamline the process for you and us both, and it just might keep you from getting banned off our server. There are some files we are NOT going to allow you to bring into our support channels, and it's your responsibility to make sure you don't have them showing up in your error files.

If you want to appeal a ban, read this post. Note that we only accept appeals on Discord, not through Tumblr, or Twitter, or any other platform.

Happy Anniversary to Deaderpool's Discord!

Seven years ago today, Deaderpool's Discord server was born. It's been a wild ride, plenty of ups and downs, comings and goings. 

We've grown a lot, from a handful of Team and Members, to a pretty good-sized Team, serving over 100,000 members. We've changed a lot, between day one and now. Still going strong, providing volunteer help for most things Sims 4 related, especially MC Command Center. 

If you haven't seen us lately, drop by sometime soon! Always happy to see new friendly faces join our happy little group.

MCCC and Today's EA Update

As expected, today's update from EA has broken a lot of mods, including MCCC.  Often with these updates, I can fix a few libraries and functions that they've changed and MCCC is ready-to-roll with a hotfix in just an hour or two.

This update looks like it has broken much more.  Mods that have custom menus are broken.  Notifications from mods seem to be broken (like the "Welcome to MCCC" notification that shows when you first start your game).  They've changed billing so even if I make a few small changes so no errors are generated, I don't know that things like Child Support and bill adjustment percents will work right...

For now, I'm doing what I can to figure out the basics but no ETA at this point.  If you don't want to go through the head-aches of many broken mods right now, I recommend not downloading the update yet!!

Patch News from Deaderpool's Discord

Patch v1.101.290 | 26th September 2023

Happy Patch Day! EA has officially released a new patch in preparation for the Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack. Since this patch is not thought to be bringing any major gameplay updates we do not expect it to be damaging to most mods. For the sake of caution, however, it's good to remember to always back up your saves and other important files! If you would like to delay patching we of course recommend turning off automatic updates in the EA App, as well as playing in Offline mode.

Keep an eye on our Discord's ⁠mods-news and ⁠nsfw-mods-news channels, where we will post information pertaining to any mods that are broken or that have received updates. We ask that you refrain from inquiring in chat channels if a mod is broken/updated - anything we know will be posted in the mods news channels or on Scarlet's mod list, and you can check the lists just as easily as we can.

If you are new to the server (or a returning long time member), please review our ⁠server-info channel, so that you have the best information about the way that this server operates. Help us help you! We have seen an increase in recent months of users who are ignoring our server rules and bringing banned mod files, channel/server jumping, or being rude and impatient in support channels. Make sure you aware of our server policies and practices before approaching our support channels or participating in our community channels. 

Want to take a more active role here? We always are looking for more Interpreters who are able to translate for non-English speaking players. If you're tech savvy with either PC or Mac, sign up to be Geek Squad or a Mac Helper. If interested in any of these roles, let a member of staff know.

Some People's Children...

In the last month alone, our server has been subjected to so much nasty behavior from so many different people, it isn't even remotely amusing. 

We are volunteers. We try to help users with many kinds of Sims 4 related issues, but we are primarily the MCCC (MC Command Center) support Discord server. We don't HAVE to help with anything else, but we do, as we are available. 

But guess what? We have lives outside of Sims, and Discord, and sometimes, people have to wait for assistance. And sometimes, they REEK of entitlement, and impatience, and can be downright disgusting when they don't get their FREE HELP, Right NOW!! 

Case in point:

Tell me why we should put up with this. Good luck coming up with a reason. I can't find any, and we are NOT going to allow anyone acting like this to stay on the server. If you can't be nice and play well with others, you're not going to remain part of our community. 

One sad thing is, the above user could easily have answered their own initial question by doing a little searching, and reading, on Deaderpool's MCCC website. Instead, they chose to make their laziness and horrid attitude our problem, and they earned themselves a ban for it. 

Other examples: 

This one guy who has a hate on for one of our team members, who has carried their deluded gripe from a different server onto ours. Newsflash, cross-server drama is something else we want no part of. You can thank this dude for the extra level of security measures we've put in place between getting onto the server, and finding your way into useful channels. We will protect our own, whatever it takes.

LGBT+ hatred is another thing that will get someone bounced out of our server pretty quickly. 

Pirates whining about not being able to get support, also not welcome. Stealing is wrong. We're not wasting our time on working with your cracked code. 

Ban evaders who try to come back on alt accounts. 

Random people who think they have the right to tell team members what to do... you don't. Our server, our rules. 

People with unsupported NSFW mods.

ALL of this (and more) is covered, in detail, in the server-info channel. We're not joking when we tell you to read it at several points, and we know who doesn't bother. It shows, blatantly, as soon as some of you post.

We didn't spend the time crafting what's in the server-info channel, OR building the server at large, to have you come asking us in support or chat what file we want, or where it is, or where you should be posting, or any of a hundred other things you'd already know, if you'd slow down and just take five minutes to actually READ that one channel, before you do Anything Else, on the server. 

But no, some of you expect us to retype all sorts of things live, just for you, because you can't be bothered to help yourselves by doing a little reading... and we're just not interested in doing that for each of our 80,000+ members. 

Being on Deaderpool's server is not a right, it's a privilege. Entitlement coupled with nastiness is a HUGE trigger of mine, and I will ban you without remorse, in a heartbeat, for any kind of abusive behavior. And I am not alone.

If you're willing to abide by our rules, and help us keep the server a nice place, you're welcome to be part of our community. If you're just there to start trouble, you won't be there for long.

Deaderpool’s Discord Ban Appeals (updated)

Banned from Deaderpool’s Discord? Here's what you need to know! Deaderpool is the Creator of MCCC, and I believe that is a large enough project for him to maintain. I’ve administered his Discord server since its beginning, almost seven years ago.

Deaderpool is not a server Admin, and he has NOTHING to do with bans, or appeals. The Support Team handles all of that, ON DISCORD. You’re wasting your time, and his, and ours, if you’re trying to get around me and the team by contacting him (or us) on other platforms such as Patreon, Tumblr, Twitter, etc.

The only place to find support for MC Command Center is on Discord.

When you join Deaderpool’s Discord, we advise, and expect, you to read our #server-info channel as part of your “Verify for Support” process, which is outlined in the server’s START HERE! section. We have this membership requirement included in SEVERAL of the first pages/areas you see, even before you join the server properly.

We even ask you in most of our announcement posts to please review #server-info, BEFORE you approach us in support. We can easily tell who has not done so, by the nature of the questions you ask, and the files you drop, among other things.

That we will ban players for either leaving the server to remove certain roles or for having certain types of NSFW mods is CLEARLY documented, in #server-info. It is YOUR responsibility to know what mods and custom content you have in your game, and it is up to you to not show us anything that we tell you we can ban you for having… because I assure you, we will do it, to ensure our team's safety and well-being.

Other ban reasons include: Being rude or impatient with our volunteer support staff Not listening to or following our directions Trolling …and so on.

Ban appeals are handled ON DISCORD ONLY, so we can gather the proper information from you, related to the account(s) you are asking us to unban.

We’re doing you a favor by spending the time it takes to interpret your errors for you. Treating us badly is not a good idea. We’re not going to allow you to remain on the server if you can’t be reasonable and treat us with respect… and this includes being willing to read and follow our rules.

If you are not banned, expecting individual support via DM is unreasonable, on a server hosting over 85,000+ people. Server Info is the equivalent of a website’s FAQ section, it is there to bring you up to speed quickly on several major points of interest and information you will need, to ensure everyone has the best possible experience when you visit us for support, or for any other objective.

For appealing a Ban from Deaderpool’s Discord, please contact ONE of the following people via Discord direct message (DM):

Trolls are out, beware!

Not long ago, I posted about a guy (initials R S, I refuse to give him any more bandwidth than that for his crap) who is pushing a knock-off site for downloading MCCC. He made it onto the official forums this week with the bogus site address, so I'm warning you again to only download MC Command Center from officially supported sites, for your own computer's safety. 

It's hard telling what kind of malware or viruses or what-have-you this troll is attaching to the bogus files he's offering. Don't fall for it!

Official downloads can be obtained from the site linked above, which is Deaderpool's own website for downloads, documentation, FAQs, settings information, and more.  

You can also find files uploaded by him on his Patreon page, his Tumblr page, and Curseforge. Additionally, once a MCCC version goes public and the woohoo zip is not available on Patreon (as it is for subscribers during pre-release stages), the zip is made available on our Discord, in the #mccc-help-links channel. Let's Help Some Huskies!

Hello!

This post is about something near and dear to my heart, saving dogs. Most of us like or have pets, right?

I decided I wanted to give you the opportunity to help a woman in Oklahoma who is making a huge difference to the Husky population.

Husky Halfway House is a 5-star rated 501c3 charitable organization. They have over 120 Huskies they've saved from kill shelters and other bad situations. They're currently recovering from a nasty round of K9 flu/strep zoo that quickly ended the lives of 4 of their dogs, including the family's pet Husky. Two of the dogs died on the way to their vet, 2 hours away.

To keep this sort of tragedy from happening again, they have closed their doors to intakes for the time being, and are shifting their focus toward adding an on-site vet clinic to their property. They need both supplies and money, to make things happen. Supplies for the dogs they currently have, and money for both their current vet bills reaching upwards of $10,000, and an estimated $200,000 to install the clinic. They need to get this done, so they can get back to pulling at-risk dogs out of shelters, puppy mills, and so on.

In their first day of asking for help, donations reached over $5000 on Facebook, and more through their Paypal and Venmo links. The only number I can see is the FB amount. I don't work for H3, but it's broken my heart, seeing how hard this week has been on the people giving their all for these dogs.

Deaderpool's Discord is On a Break

The depth of bad behavior from Simmers we've witnessed on this patch has made me ashamed of a LARGE portion of our community. 

Harrassing Lumpinou was just the beginning. 

Refusing to lift a finger to help yourselves, refusing to read ANYTHING we gave you to prepare for the patch either ahead of time, or after it landed, just made things worse. 

Burying our support channels in repeat demands for help from our volunteer staff without testing your patched game with no mods or custom content in was just one more nail in the coffin. 

But the thing that takes the cake, by far, was the abuse some of you heaped on people in the Sims After Dark discord, especially Meg. NO ONE deserves to be talked to the way she was, and especially not by entitled brats who don't want to read, who expect us to magically force their games into working, with no effort from them.

I was already upset about what happened to Lumpinou, so when SAD decided to take a well deserved break to decompress, Deaderpool's discord also closed. The epidemic of people STILL not reading continues, too. Several of us have received DMs since yesterday asking about what's going on, when it was CLEARLY laid out in the above announcement post, in which everyone was pinged. Please don't be that person, not now, and especially not after we re-open our servers, probably sometime Tuesday... depending on how SAD's relaunch goes.

People's behavior will determine how long we STAY open. If we immediately start seeing more of the same crap that led us to close for this break, we will take another one. Don't be the reason people can't have nice things. Behave like you have some common sense, and we will do our best to help you with your issues. 

Be aware we are not going to let ourselves be run over. Our tolerance for bad behavior as a whole has run out. We're much more likely to just ban troublemakers on the spot, and move on to the more cooperative people who genuinely appreciate our support.

MC Command Center 2023.1.2 is out!

MCCC 2023.1.2 is out!  This is a hotfix version fixing all the known issues we’ve found so far with 2023.1.0 with EA’s Growing Together update released March 14th.  There may be some other hotfixes coming in the next several days if any other critical issues are discovered.

Specifically fixed now:

Infants were using adult custom age spans.  Now they use EA defaults instead. (Note that if a player has a custom adult age span that is greater than an infant’s current age, when they deploy this hotfix, the infant will immediately age-up).

Setting a pet age or aging a Sim down from MCCC would cause an LE and not work. 

Teleporting to a Gnome would cause an LE and not work. 

If MC Woohoo was deployed, “Have a Science Baby” would not generate a baby even though the cost would be paid.
