according to all known laws of batman, a robin should not fight crime. batman hates child endangerment. the robin, of course, fights crime anyways, because robin doesn't care what batman thinks.

Rye, lying on the floor: clean up on aisle niiiinnee.... aisle nine.... somebody spilled some TRASSSHHHH.... *giggles, takes another sip from a mysterious water bottle*.... it’s me....
Stephanie nudges Rye gently with her foot, one eyebrow lifted and concern on her face “You good, boo?”
Rye grabs the offending ankle with a stubborn twist to her lips, then rolls over onto her stomach. “Neeeed.... a mooopppp.... and more tequila....”
“Yeeaaaahhh...I don’t think so” Stephanie crouches, and carefully caresses Rye’s cheek to turn her face to see Stephanie’s, speaking softly “What you need is to drink some water, probably some food too, and then we can chill on your couch and watch some movies until you pass out
“I do think so, though!” Rye giggles, then offers her water bottle up to Steph. “Want some? It’s magic! But not like... klarion magic. Bitch boy turned me into a cat. Good magic!” She hugs Steph’s leg, making kissy face at her.
Stephanie sighs, shaking her head ever so slightly, before smirking “If i take a sip, will you drink half a glass of water?” she asks, one set of fingers carding through the redheads hair while the other curls around the bottle.
Rye narrows her eyes. “Chug it and I’ll... I’ll drink a whole glass. Two!” She sticks her tongue out, but at the same time nods into the hand in her hair.
She sighed heavily, but gently tugged it out of Rye’s hand “Two whole glasses, and you eat something, at the very least a sandwich” Stephanie lifted her eyebrow and tilted her eye, even as she continued to rake her fingers through Rye’s hair “Deal?”

Steph is laughing as she runs, her hair flying wildly behind her as fled from the tavern, a few of the more aggressive patrons right on her tail. Hey, it wasn't her fault they were no good at Pinochle compared to her. She leaped over a couple of crates, her boots hitting the decking of the port with a solid *Thunk*, and was just about to finish the last bit of her sprint to her ship when she ran straight into someone, falling to the ground with a gasp as swords pressed against her body.
Jason raises his eyebrow at the blonde, now laying splayed on the port, her curled blonde hair frizzy with salt water and windswept, and her cheeks tinged pink both from her run, and, given her direction, he assumed alcohol.
Her eyes were steely and hard as she glared up at the guards keeping her in place with their swords, and he smirked, holding his hand aloft “Release her” he said, watching with satisfaction as her eyes flickered to his, with only a seconds surprise before they narrowed in suspicion.
“But Your Royal Highness, she-”
“Accidentally ran into me, I’m not of the habit of punishing accidents, especially when they are not one of my people, which she’s clearly not, she’s of the seas, now release her”
The guards withdrew their swords, and he took a step forward and leaned down, holding out his hand.
“I am Prince Jason Todd-Wayne, I apologize for the rash reactions of my guards, they’re rather protective”
Stephanie clicked her tongue and pushed herself up from the ground, wiping the dust from herself before she rose her chin in defiance.
She wasn’t exactly a fan of royalty, having grown up where the cruel king Joker reigned, after her father forced them to move to Arkham Island.
She preferred her first home, the lowest ring of central Gotham, to that place, and even that she didn’t consider it home, not for a long time.
“Stephanie, of the High Seas” she proudly stated, before gritting out a “And apology accepted, I suppose”
Jason’s lips twitched towards a smile, the set of her shoulders, the scrunch of her nose, the accent buried deep. It was well recognized to him, he had it too, deep down.
The lowest ring of Gotham Central never really left you, no matter where you went or how high you climbed, or got carried as was his case back when he was a child and had tried to pick pocket Heir Apparent His Royal Highness Richard Grayson-Wayne.
It could have turned out so much worse than it did, but the King and Prince had had senses of humor, and had instead brought him back to their carriage, and a shared meal had turned into a family within a few short hours.
He let a bit of his accent back into his voice as he spoke, twisting his hand from an offering to help her up, to an offering to shake her hand “It’s a pleasure, Miss Stephanie”
Stephanie’s eyebrows flew upwards at the accent his words carried, because even after all these years it was easily recognized.
She was aware that all but the two youngest of King Bruce Wayne’s children were adopted, but for one to have been from the same area as her…Well, that changed things.
She twisted her lips into a smirk and took his hand, giving it one good, hard shake “Sure is, Princey”
Her eyes flickered to her ship, her crew bustling around with crates of food and supplies, and dropped the strangely yet familiarly rough hand, the marks of a scavenger littering a princes hand, and stepped around him.
“This was fun, but I gotta get going, wind won’t be this nice forever, and if my ship misses it we’ll be stuck in port for a week”
“Don’t see how that’d be so bad” he quipped, twisting on his heel as he gave her a sharks grin, more of his accent dripping into his words.
His siblings were fine, so were the other royals and nobles that made up the Justice Peace Treaty and their families.
but this girl was interesting, and from the same place as him, and didn’t seem to give a single shit that he was royalty.
“Places to be, Princey, things to see, but this port isn’t such a bad one, might swing back here in a year or three”
“Captain!” one of her crew yelled from the ship, waving his hand “Winds’a pickin’ up, and sails are ready to release on your word!”
she lifted her hand “Be right there, ready my quarters and prepare the maps!”
Stephanie looked back at Jason “Well, see ya around”
