I've been wanting to draw some tarot cards ever since I found out crests in 3H are based on the Major Arcana. Finally got around to it ! :D

Starting with the crest of Gautier / Death because I didn't draw my boy Sylvain enough and in tarot, death represents change and transformation, which I find fitting as we're approaching the new year :)

Okay I know the writers probably intended this scene to be haha funny don't think about it too hard, but I'm thinking about it.

How fucking WILD it is that Sylvain at the ripe age of 8 years old thought it was normal and fine behavior to flirt with full grown women. Even if we're accepting the theory/headcanon with the Ingrid's grandmother incident that "oh haha Sylvain just has bad eye sight that's why he flirted with an old lady and a scarecrow, how silly," he was still EIGHT YEARS OLD. He at the very least knew he was talking to an adult.

His whole character being "women only show interest in me because they want to have a kid with me, so if I flirt endlessly with every woman I see, I can pretend to have some semblance of control" is already tragic. But to have a direct line in game proving that mindset went all the way back to him being EIGHT is devastating. Think about the implications of that for 5 seconds and goddamnit, Edelgard was right for wanting to burn that whole continent to the ground.

Sylvain Jose Gautier you deserve the world.

YES i think about this always. there’s so many lines about him that you can only find funny once. once you get to his A, or even just to his paralogue, the context completely changes

between being groomed to flirt with women, watching his parents fight, and the possibility of CSA at miklan’s hand, this boy’s perception of romantic love was screwed from the beginning.

for him to still be a genuine romantic under that heartbreaker act, it hurts :( this has always just been a sweet boy that has so much love to give.
