Maximilian actually finds that kind of funny, hence the appearance of the smirk âFiffy, you scared?â he asks, taunting but entirely in a playful manner. Thereâs no venom in his tone, he just figured easing their nerves could help them more now that they were really getting into the tricky part.
No guards, that was never a good sign. They knew PRIME was coming orâŚor this was all just one big set-up. He clenched his teeth, trying to keep himself from talking out loud. He couldnât possibly direct his own paranoia at them, the agents currently in the field seeing the situation first hand.
But then as if on cue a flicker of orange had him whipping to peer through the scope at the other end of the building. What he sees has him hissing a âGet out. Get out now, abort mission.â Having seen some familiar faces who generally hated on PRIME agents barrelling towards the same floor Eiffel and Jack were going to jump in was absolutely a viable reason for him to make that call and then he went ahead and made another call of his own.
He needed to warn the in-coming Forced conduits of the PRIME presence while not reading suspicion. So with a flourish he threw his sniper back and fired up the lightening. Sizzling veins of silver and blue lightning lit his form up like a beacon and then he flung his arms forth, sending the lightning for the mid point so that both the parties understood they would be better off leaving the vicinity immediately. He made sure none of it hit either his team or his all too familiar on-the-run- forced conduits. The lightning crackled and seemed to form claws hungrily reaching for anything with a beating heart. It shattered the windows, causing enough noise to have the incoming forced conduits whip around and retreat. He withdrew, quitting his attack, and scanned the area for Jack and Eiffel.
After succeeding in following the intel that had been given to him by one of the moles in Prime, Donnie had made his way or rather infiltrated through a bit of smooth-talking. Now he was stuck in the midst of it all watching as everything around him seemed to spell out dangers but nobody else noticed. This was a setup it just had to be, every hair on his body was standing on end and he didnât know if heâd be able to handle what would be in store.
It had to be an ambush it just had to be! Nothing else would make sense, nothing would be this easy, and as he kept up with the others he saw it, flashes of lightning. âAll of you out now!â He yelled at the ones in front of him, but he couldnât back out now not when he could recognize those bolts of lightning, and whatever would happen to him would be nothing compared to what would happen to Max if it was revealed that he gave away their position. So he had to take one for the team. âBetter thank me for this one later, jackass.â he muttered under his breath as he kept barreling forward, using his powers to create objects as stepping stones to give himself a boost, jumping into the fray and looking all around him.
Donnie had to look like a chicken with its head cut off, unaware of anything that was happening and too frantic to realize. âAlright, Iâm here bitches, come at me,â he goaded, knowing the fight wouldnât last long and heâd most likely get captured but this would be an opportunity to know just who and what they were facing. @jacktcrrenceâ
get out now, abort mission! jack hears the crackle of maxâs voice through the comm channel, but from their position, the demand surprises him. theyâve just barely come up on their destination, and while the lack of⌠well, anything has everyone on guard, he doesnât see or hear anything that would make the mission impossible. wait, scratch that. he hears the unmistakable crackle of lightning. âmax, what are you doing?â he hisses into his mic, motioning eiffel forward so that the both of them can drop out of the vents. whether or not they back out now, he isnât going to crawl his way back where they came. âwhatâs going on up there?â he tries again, keeping his voice low but no longer at a whisper.
âcome on, letâs go,â he says, nodding at his partner. âwe need to get out of the building before someone up there ends up shockingâbut jack doesnât even have time to finish his sentence. no sooner had he begun to speak when tendrils of lightning crash through the building, avoiding them but causing enough damage ( and noise, god the noise! ) to leave him a bit⌠speechless. âwhat the hell was that?â but he doesnât expect an immediate answerâbesides, the both of them still need to find their exit point. at least the windows wonât be a problem, anymore.
motioning for eiffel to follow again, he leads them out through one of the shattered windows. doesnât really feel good about it, but at least theyâre out of the building and back on the ground. but that doesnât mean the action is over. his feet have barely hit the pavement when the conduit is upon them, goading them stupidly into a fight. alone? against the both of them? he really was expecting more out of this. âeiffel, back me up,â he shoots back toward her, already readying himself for a fight. âif you know whatâs good for you,â he starts, focused on the man before them; âyouâll put your hands up and stay real still.â
she hates to admit how maxâs words , send a few spikes of panic through her. it was supposed to be an easy in and out , mission. shit had hit the fan , and things were headed downhill. once they're finally back on solid ground , eiffel is listening intently , as jack attempts reaching max. â of fucking course , things arenât working in our favor. ridiculous. is it too much to ask , for a smooth mission? â she huffs more to herself , than anything. following after her partner , she tenses at the release of lightning into the air. sharing a quick glance , towards her partner. â show-out. letâs go , he must be trying to warn us. this could be some sort of set up , or ambush. we need , to get out of here. â by now she doesnât bother , with keeping her voice low. theyâve already been compromised , no need to try and conceal themselves.Â
just as theyâre climbing out of the shattered window , another conduit , is skidding to a halt in front of them. another show off , just great. eiffel readies herself , for the obvious altercation. taking a position at one side of the man , while her partner takes the other. her eyes narrow , at the feeble little warning. and sooner than jack can finish , sheâs throwing herself at the man. a barrage of punches and kicks are thrown , each charged with a powerful boost of electricity.Â
while her hits arenât the cleanest , sheâs consistent. all in an effort , to cage the man in. âdonât worry , i hear PRIME takes swimmingly , to rouge conduits. a few test experiments and mind brainwashing , iâm sure , youâll become their newest puppet.â she boasts with a smug smirk , moving to create some distance between them. motioning for jack , to take the lead back.Â
