the captain and alternate captain bond
Heated Rivalry is a closed door hockey romance in the sense that they fade to black on the hockey. The sex is explicit, but the hockey is implied.

He was right to say this thank you mr williams I owe you my life
I keep thinking lately of an AU where Luke isn't the traitor. Like. He really could've gone to college and return some days to teach sworfighting. He could've watched Annabeth and his other siblings grow up. He would've laughed so hard everytime Percy made a fool of himself in front of Annabeth - and that would be the extent of their beef (he's lowkey team Percabeth - but no one tell Percy that - because he knows that kid will die before hurting her. Andddd its also the first time Annabeth showed interest in anyone. His baby sister all grown up :)) He would've shared exasperated looks with Grover when Percabeth was being oblivious. He could have helped Thalia recover. Maybe pick up where they left off or at least get some closure before she joins the hunters. Then Annabeth will give him the biggest hugs ever when he misses her. When people start looking at Percy for guidance instead of him, he's proud. When Percy looks at him after his speech before the battle of Manhattan, he just smiles at him, claps his shoulder and says he's the leader now. He's ready. Camp is in good hands with Percy and Annabeth. Olympus can rot, but camp will be fine. He helped raise some damn good kids.
Y’all I’m screaming
I see your “Will hates Percy for what happened on the bridge” and raise you: “Will hates Silena for what happened on the bridge.”
Because Percy may have been the one to break the bridge, but why was the bridge so overwhelmed that it was deemed necessary? Silena.
The Last Olympian, pages 204-205:
Jake Mason cleared his throat. He'd been standing there so silently I'd almost forgotten he was in the room.
"Percy, something else," he said. "The way Kronos showed up at the Williamsburg Bridge, like he knew you were going there. And he shifted his forces to our weakest points. As soon as we deployed, he changed tactics. He barely touched the Lincoln Tunnel, where the Hunters were strong. He went for our weakest spots, like he knew."
"Like he had inside information," I said. "The spy."
Silena is canonically the actual reason why the Apollo Cabin got slaughtered on the Williamsburg Bridge, and I almost never see this even acknowledged, let alone explored.
Like, imagine being Will here. Your cabin, your family, has just been absolutely decimated by the battle. Your older brother, your mentor as far as TSATS tells us, is MIA, with certainty growing that he’s dead, and you couldn’t even help with the search because Annabeth was in desperate need of healing, and as the best healer left (as far as we know), you were her best shot at survival. Suddenly, you are now head counselor, and it’s now your job to ensure the survival of your remaining siblings. You are also 13.
And then, you hear that the reason why you were so overrun is because of the camp spy. That someone in your midst told the enemy that you were the weakest point of camp’s forces. That someone in your midst told the enemy that your leader, the one person they’re desperately trying to get rid of, was headed for your location. That someone in your midst is (in part) directly responsible for the deaths of your siblings. That’s already reason enough to hate the guts of whoever did it.
But then… the drakon. The Ares Cabin finally decide to show up, and you hear that Silena was the one who got them here, losing her life in the process. You now have to mourn yet another friend and ally. Then it comes out that she was the spy. That she was the reason most of your siblings are dead. That she was the reason for your other siblings’ lives now being on your 13-year-old shoulders.
And then… when the dust settles and everything’s over, she’s lauded as a hero. She gets the same honored sendoff as all the campers she helped endanger. Her shroud is burned right next to the empty shroud of your still-missing brother, right beside the other kids who she effectively killed. And based on what we see in HoO, “Silena was a hero” seems to be the prevailing opinion among the camp. Everyone just seems to have forgotten, or worse, are straight-up brushing aside, the massacre she caused.
Wouldn’t you be PISSED?

okay - just a personal preference - Im gonna need to see Annabeth go batshit insane when Percy goes MIA for two weeks in the BOTL adaptation. Like, Im gonna need layers upon this. Im gonna need drama like we’ve never seen from her before. Im gonna need to see her fight Chiron as she insist he’s not dead. Im gonna need her grappling with her choice to leave him there. Im gonna need her - for once- to ignore the carnage his powers brought and instead zero in on him and the possibility that he’s alive. Im gonna need her trying to sneak out to find him, get an existential crisis, then ultimately decide against it because of logical reasons or she just deadass gets caught mid-escape. Im gonna need her to spend nights re-examining her prophesy, trying to figure out if her love for Percy condemned him to this fate. Bonus points if she volunteers to weave the shroud then unthreads them when no one’s looking (gotta insert OdyPen ref somewhere). I know she was grieving BAD from the books alone so Im so excited how theyre gonna portray this in the show cause we get to see that part from HER perspective, not Percy’s very confused, very lost, freshly-blown-out-a-volcano perspective. Ive seen crash-out Percy and he’s marvellous (and he’s not even in his final form). I’d like to see crash-out Annabeth too.
I always talk about Percy had nothing going on behind his eyes whenever he accidentally ragebaited Annabeth with Rachel but tbh sometimes there was nothing behind Annabeth's eyes either, because in TTC, when they reunite, she asks Percy "You never believed I was dead?" and he's like "Never". And then Annabeth says someothing "Luke is not dead, either, you know? I know it, just like you knew I wasn't".
It's like. Yesss girl I'm sure that after this guy who escaped camp and crossed the country to help you will LOVE the comparison to the other guy that kidnapped you and has tried to hurt you both many times. If he'd crashed out he would've been as justified as she was in BOTL lmao
I do think that they dialed up Percy’s devotion to his friends (plural, not just Annabeth), so it’s baffling to me that people think Percy is having these feelings about Annabeth too early. That’s his very good close personal friend Annabeth who he can be vulnerable with and tell his deepest fears too and of course he would burn Olympus down for her THAT’S HIS GOOD CLOSE PERSONAL FRIEND!
