I plan to go way higher on the dumbbell squats, but this was about getting the form right. And I might up the weight on the dumbbell lunges once I get a better sense of balance. I'm slowly working my way back up to over 300lbs on the standing calf raises. My PR is 450, bit that exceeds this machine's limit. "A Tempest in Mauve" explores the existential relationship between cloud formation, global warming and micromanagement. Note the interlocking nature of the construction which suggests dense cloud formations and layers of Soviet bureaucracy. The prevailing grey suggests the existence of an underlying milieu of soul crushing drudgery and the Sisyphean nature of the struggle to care. While the mauve hints of playful abandon, it also bespeaks the dread of electrocution coupled with a slight hope that it's painless and quick. The composition is quite small, which only heightens the level of its morose nature. Wavering between terror and morbid resignation lies that halfway point if melancholy ennui which enhances the overall emotion of the piece. The artist remarked about the influence of Sartre's "No Exit," the final lines from " "L'etranger" by Camus, and the absurdity of Beckett's "Waiting for Godot."
