Azriel reached out and placed his hand beneath Eris’s chin. A constellation adorned his cheeks, and he had memorized every freckle. Like a seasoned sailor, he knew they would always lead him home.

When Eris tilted his head slightly to press a kiss to his fingers, Azriel’s heart skipped a beat. Years ago, he would have flinched at the gesture—at the idea that someone, that he, might think his scarred hands worthy of such a gentle touch. But now he had grown addicted to that quiet tenderness. Eris was not a male prone to speaking his affection aloud, but his touch? Oh, with that he was generous, and Azriel had come to realize he would never have his fill.

“Stop looking at me like that,” Eris murmured against his wrist, over the steady thrum of his pulse.

Azriel shifted his fingers, brushing a strand of hair aside. “Like what?”

Amber eyes narrowed slightly, something warm flickering in Eris’s gaze. “Like you can’t look away.”

It took considerable effort for Azriel to keep the smile from spreading across his face—though Eris could likely read his delight all the same.

“I can, fireheart,” he said softly. “I just don’t want to.”

Eris watched as Azriel stretched, wings unfurling, his silhouette cut against the pale dawn light filtering through the window. He was trying—truly, with every ounce of will he had—to pull his gaze away, but it was nearly impossible.

He couldn’t help but admire the way Azriel’s muscles flexed, the way his back tightened and then eased, how the tattoos along his shoulders shifted with each movement.

Azriel’s hair was slightly tousled, loose strands curling at the nape of his neck, brushing the marks Eris himself had left there with his lips.

Not for the first time since they had begun this dance between them, he realized that no matter how much he wanted to deny it—no matter how many lies he told himself—he was utterly captivated.

The sun was only just rising on the horizon, but even in all its early glory it could not compare to the quiet, breathtaking beauty of the figure before him.

And then the realization struck—a truth that lodged itself in his throat, aching to be spoken: he had always believed Azriel was the moth, drawn helplessly to the flame… but perhaps it was Eris who was willing to burn, if only to brush that light with the tips of his fingers.

OK so. My favorite version of Azris (and godDAMN was it hard to chose) I think is dom!Eris and sub!Az, with Eris being the top. Wait- I'm sorry, but have I mentioned wing play yet??? If I haven't actually I want to change my answer with the vanilla/kinky question- WING PLAYYYYY MY LOVEEEEEEEE. God I just love when Eris gets fucking FASCINATED with Az's wings and just dedicates an entire day to learning about them and completely ruins Azriel (intended) in the process... It's my movie. My one and only. My dad showed it to me so, so long ago, and we used to watch it every year. It's so witty, so funny, with perfectly timed comedy. I still get pulled back to it when something reminds me of it. I love that movie so much...

Also. If it's an AU or something or the sort. Lord do I love me a subtle reference to canon AUGHHH those always make me so HAPPYYY when I catch them and I say I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE

In modern times, Eris would've learned ballet dancing. From watching videos on YouTube to learn what "pilé" and "rond de jambe" meant, to sneaking into ballet lessons that most definitely had not been paid for, he taught himself the art little by little, in scrimmaged bits and pieces. By the time he turned thirteen, he was regularly locking himself into his room at night to practice splits, pirouettes, and chassés. In a life where he takes few joys for himself, this seemingly simple exercise makes him feel alive. Sometimes, he even snuck away to be free with his passion for some stolen amount of time.
