Day 5: RELATIONSHIPS At the moment, they are the closest beings to each other. Mraksa has fallen out with her family and only occasionally keeps in touch with her mother, while Plut’s father abandoned him in a village.

Both of them struggle with socialization, which makes it difficult for them to form friendships, and it’s only thanks to Vivienne that they don’t end up completely falling out with each other.

Mraksa is doing her best to stay in the Mystery and keep her job, but Plut often gets in the way, dragging her into various misadventures. Most of the time she tries to ignore him and pretend they don’t know each other, but sometimes playing dumb doesn’t work—and it irritates her. At the same time, she can’t bring herself to hate him: in his unpredictability, he can be both destructive and incredibly useful—he does know when he’s going too far.

Plut, on the other hand, is deeply attached to Mraksa, because she is the first being in his life who wasn’t human and offered him help. But he spent too much time alone, so the very concept of “personal boundaries” never really developed for him. Because of this, he often interferes with her work, invades personal space, and touches things. He’s also irritated by her attempts to force herself into local norms and what he sees as her excessive respect for hierarchy, and he doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind about it.

Despite all the flaws in their personalities, they gradually learn to coexist. Fun facts: 🔸Although Plut doesn’t need sleep as much as most living beings, he can still get tired. When he “dozes off,” his pupils disappear, yet he still sleeps with his eyes open. 🔸He prefers sleeping under Mraksa’s bed. Sometimes he grabs her by the legs from underneath (and usually gets smacked for trying to climb onto the bed). 🔸Mraksa may grumble and complain, but if Plut is cold, she almost always lends him her clothes. 🔸The people Mraksa feels closest to in her family are her mother and her uncle.
