“Have you been waiting to mock me this whole time?” she giggled. Celia really loved Alex’s accent, and she noticed how ridiculously formal her tone was when he echoed it. He was so laid back and he seemed so young in comparison to her. Saying that she wasn’t a bit envious would be a complete lie.
Serrano kid. He heard him use the term twice now, and still didn’t know what it meant. Whatever it was, it was used negatively both times. She wanted to ask about it, but felt like she would be intruding too quickly. Instead, she would just wait for another opportunity. She noticed she had made it a bit obvious that she was deep in thought by her grim facial expression and attempted to shake it off. “Well, it’s not good to be close friends with everyone. It’s good to only have a few”, she nodded. Something in her head clicked for a moment in the midst of his rambling. “Did you say… Amanda?” Amanda was a common name, and a very common one at that. But there could be the slight possibility that it was the one that she had in mind. At this point, she noticed he was getting seemingly uncomfortable, but she was so curious, so she carelessly (and knowingly) kept going. “What’s that album next to you?” she asked, with an innocent tone in her voice. “You… don’t have to show it to me if you don’t want to.” She laughed it off. Celia had a dark past that she wouldn’t want to reveal to anyone, and it was probably (and most likely) worse than anyone else’s. It wouldn’t be fair for her to pressure everyone, trying to collect as much dirt as she could, even if she wouldn’t do anything with it other than keep it safe.
“Thank you, that was a lot of help. I should be courteous enough to tip you”, she laughed, putting her hands behind her thighs as she sat down, then crossing her left leg over her right. Her hands clasped each other on top of her legs, and her posture was perfectly straight.
Celia nodded and waited in the chair where she sat, playfully swinging her leg on top back and forth patiently. When he returned, her jaw practically dropped. She didn’t even notice the painting that was surrounded by many, and she regretted not going through every single one of them. Indeed, it was like the brightest jewel on a necklace. “She’s beautiful. The lighting in this painting is also definitely something to be proud of,” she nodded as her eyes followed how the sparkles of light reflected off of the girl’s gleaming skin. “She has your gorgeous eyes, too. Quite the lucky girl.” Smiling, she looked up at Alex, their eyes locking, and laughed. She was obviously getting comfortable, and didn’t mind showing it.
"Why would I want to mock the princess's accent?" Alex asked, quirking an eyebrow. "I'm merely a peasant compared to you!" He laughed, looking at Celia, who truly did remind him of a princess. She had a very regal aura in the way she carried herself - nice posture, delicate gestures, and her accent, of course, completed it. Her complete persona was the exact opposite of his - mature, elegant, beautiful - which made him wonder if he, perhaps, had spent all his time trying to stay a kid and not enough time accepting the real world.
Alex gazed at Celia as she was thinking, noting the way that her features all showed how focused she was. However, he said nothing, knowing that he would make her uncomfortable by pointing this out, and instead waited for her to talk. "Ahh, yes, Amanda. The girl that used to be the secretary - we went to high school together, and were, uh," Alex blinked, frowning, because he was not the type that could lie easily, "-friends. N-Nikias, as well, though he was a couple years my senior so I never spent much time with him." After hearing Celia ask to see the album, his eyes widened and he shifted. It's not like he had anything to hide - and he knew that - but even he knew it was weird that he still had a photo album composed of pictures of him and his ex-girlfriends laying around. But it's art, right? So...what's wrong with the fact that he just so happened to condense all the photos that chronicled his past relationships into one album? Gulping, he knew that showing her the album would make him seem creepy, but he had kept it more for the artistic reasons - and perhaps some more nostalgic ones, as well - rather than any others, so he handed it to Celia anyway. "It's a photo album of some of my girlfriends from high school. I took a lot of pictures of them, so I compiled it into an album...for the memories, and so I could look back on my growth as an artist, you see." He frowned as she began to pass through the pages, but he shook it off after a couple of seconds. Truthfully, there wasn't anything to hide. And most importantly, he'd rather that Celia just see who he is as a whole rather than be disillusioned by any lies he told. Being honest was always his best trait, for better or for worse.
Alex blushed as Celia gazed at his painting. "Thank you. Mia was always the prettiest in the family. We all loved her, seeing as she was the only daughter against six sons...and she was so beautiful, truly. Even this painting can only do her so much justice." As Celia looked up at him, and their eyes locked, his blush only grew deeper as a gentle smile began to spread across his face. "Gorgeous eyes? Well, I know she has them, but me? Ahh, Celia...you're far too kind to me."
