Can I just say something?
A person’s same sex attraction, whether accepted or not, does not negate any good they do in their life. That one sin does not render their entire life evil. Just as a person’s sexuality is not their identity, their sin isn’t either. It just seems like some Christians, when they hear someone is gay, suddenly become disinterested in whatever that person is involved in. Because they are gay. It shouldn’t be like that. They are so much more than their sexuality, and they deserve to be known beyond that. The first step to helping someone in the clutches of the world’s view of SSA is to show them that sexuality and identity are not synonymous. We can’t do that if we only focus on the fact that they are gay.
You are not your sin!!
Don’t fix my pain. Don’t solve my shame. Don’t tell me it’s okay. You don’t have to know what to say. Nothing will do, so— Stay in the unresolved. Stay a while. Stay a while more. You don’t need all the right advice. You only need to be right here. Your advice is probably sound, but not as good as being around. To be, to sit, is what you’re here for. Here is enough. — J.S.

never trade God for this world, you’ll regret it.

How can we not make time for the Maker of time Himself?
Choosing to stand on God’s truth, when it’s so much easier to believe lies. Fearfully and wonderfully. Fearfully and wonderfully. Fearfully and wonderfully.
Tucking this into my heart.
The Bible is: A Story
The complete collection of God’s revelation to humanity is in the form of story–the story of what God is accomplishing in this world. There is a unified theme that runs through the entire work and across all the different genres. The beginning and the end are related to one another by what happens in between. Each part of the Bible needs to be read in relation to the other parts. Gavin Ortlund says it well: “It should be read more like a novel than like the newspaper or a fortune cookie or a collection of Aesop’s fables. The whole thing hangs together, and the concrete parts are most meaningful when viewed in relation to the whole.” The Bible is a narrative that describes what God has done and is doing in this world.
