Hi, where can I read some of your writing?
As of now, this Tumblr is the only place you can view my poetry and creative prose. I have plenty of other pieces floating around the Internet (written under my legal name or another alias) but I'm not ready to disclose my identity just yet. Someday I hope to merge all of my work into one portfolio but my anxiety prevents that right now. Until that happens, you can private message here and I'd be happy to send you some of my work that doesn't appear on this blog.xo Elizabeth
I've seen your quote "Hearts are wild creatures, that's why our ribs are cages." changed to "Our hearts are monsters, that's why our ribs are cages" does this bother you, also would you mind if i were to use the quote as a tattoo and gave you credit
It doesn't bother me too much because that phrasing doesn't change the quote's meaning. However, I am a writer who selects her words deliberately and would therefore prefer they all remain intact. :)And I'm always open to people getting my words tattooed on them! It still amazes me and excites me that someone connects with my work enough to do that. And I LOVE seeing the final results so please send a photo when you have your tattoo! xo Elizabeth
Update
Hi all, I just logged into this account for the first time in ages and now I'm a mess. I don't write as freely (or as frequently) as I used to and reading all my old posts and messages is only a reminder of how much has changed. I miss my passion, I miss my drive, I miss this blog and most of all: I miss this supportive community. I hope you are all doing well and god-willing, I'll be writing alongside you again soon. Love, Elizabeth
hey you havent posted in a life time but i still think about your writing on the reg. hope all is well and that the reason you dont post anymore is because youre writing a real book or having your stuff published and getting paid, as you deserve
This moved me to tears. Thank you for your kindness. I hope to deliver something for you soon.
I just came across that quote on fb (do I really have to explain which one?). Reading those words was... Annihilating. Do you understand what you did? Such a simple wordplay, yet so true. This isn't just a new addition to the "Famous Quotes Book". This is right up there with "One small step for man..." I signed up on Tumblr just to read more and oh yes, you "got it". When you publish, and publish you must, please... Put that cobalt bomb of a quote on the cover. I can't think of a better title.
Wow! I am beyond honored and flattered. Thank you for your kindness. And yes, publishing a book has always been one of my goals. That is, if I can ever knock this god damn writer's block..
Your poetry is amazing, vivid and real, three dimensional and deep; words I can drown in. Don't worry too much about the writer's block, it'll leave you soon enough, and you'll be able to write again. The way words fall when you leave them is so natural, it's not something that can be restrained for very long. It'll come back, I know. Don't give up :)
This has to be the most uplifting, inspiring message I’ve ever received. Thank you so much! I’m growing more and more frustrated (even psychically agitated at times) with this writer’s block. The words just won’t come...
But I’m trying to be patient and it means everything that people like you believe in me! I hope I don’t disappoint.
Your quote "Hearts are wild creatures, that's why our ribs are cages" really hit me. It's so deep and really made me think. I'm soo obsessed! It's inspirational. Thank you ❤
Thank you!
Just another heads up. Mike Foster is pretty successful motivator. There is a post on his FB page with no credit to your "wild hearts" quote. FB page is iammikefoster. Just thought you might want to know.
Ok, thank you!
Hearts are wild creatures ... is that your quote?
Yes it is!
Please write again! I crave your words
I’m beyond flattered to hear that. And trust me- I am trying! :(
Jusy a heads up: your "hearts are wild creatures..." was reposted by a blogger called extramadness. It has no credit.
Thank you for letting me know!
Might want to ask to be credited on "The Blissful Maven." She posted a photo to her business page with your quote on facebook ;)
Thanks for the heads up!
Hello dear, Your quote Hearts are wild creatures, that's why our ribs are cages. has almost destroyed my life and now i am suffering from phobia of this thought can you please help me get out of it ....
I assure you there is not an actual wild creature living inside your body. Everything's gonna be ok, my friend!
"hearts are wild creatures .." would make the pefect tattoo ... I was thinking about getting it done sometime :) you don't mind if I don't put your name on my skin too right? :D I'm aware that it's your quote and I will tell anyone who's asking :)
Haha of course I don’t expect to be credited ON the actual tattoo. I do appreciate you asking though :) Please send me a picture of your new ink when it’s complete!
I wish I could buy a book with all your poetry. I'd ready it forever!
This is genuinely the best compliment I could receive. Thank you! I do hope to publish a book at ~some point in my life so stick around :)
So I don’t love you forever. I love you right now— don’t you dare tell me that that doesn’t matter.
