“When you’re right, you’re right,” Nina let out a soft laugh because the girl definitely had a point. She didn’t spend too much time online, unless it was to shop, but from what she did stumble across when it came to Youtubers were that they were exactly how Elena described them. “Do some giveaways. That would get my attention,” Nina said with a grin, as if she couldn’t afford to buy the things she bought already. She was greedy like that.
“oh of course it would.” she teases, with a bit of an eye roll in a good natured way. it was true, though. giving away things for free would surely increase her popularity on the web. not that she was legit considering a career change, but maybe a new hobby wouldn’t be too bad. “i guess you’re right though, that’s certainly a way of getting followers for a small price.”
“you’re asking the wrong person.” derrick responds, taking a long drink of his lager. “i don’t think i’ve ever watched an actual youtuber before. i mostly stick to music videos. and, uh, the occasional medical training video.” shrugging his shoulders, he finishes off his drink and slides the cup toward the bartender, signaling that he’d like another. “can i get you anything?” he asks of the other.
“yeah, maybe i should just google it instead.” she half jokes, of course what kind of answer could she get at a bar? “i don’t, either. not really anyway, i mostly watch makeup tutorials but it’s not like i have a favorite or anything, just whatever pops up first. medical training, though, are you a doctor? or are you just curious?” her head slightly tilts at the question, not sure why anybody who wasn’t or wanted to be a doctor would watch that type of videos but people could do watch whatever they pleased on youtube. “oh, um, i’ll have an old fashioned.” she smiles up at the bartender before turning her attention back at the other, “thanks.”
“what does it take to become a youtuber? talking in front of a camera about irrelevant topics seems quite appealing to me for some reason, especially getting paid out of it. though all i ever see are mediocre teenage white boys, which is a very specific sector in which i don’t think i fit in.”
danny had a bad track record with dating. it just NEVER seemed to work out for him, no matter how hard he tired. so here he was again, expecting another tinder date to FAIL, except —- danny peers at his watch and realizes it’s been near AN HOUR and his date is a no show. great, he thinks. it can’t even fail, because they didn’t even show up. he sighs, hoping no one noticed his pathetic hour of waiting, and migrated towards the restaurants bar. “quick question.” he states to the person he sits next to, leaning his arms on the bar. “if someones forty-five minutes late to a date, is it safe to assume they’re not showing up ? and by that i mean, can i start getting drunk now or should i wait ? “
“forty five?” she repeats out loud, finding it unbelievable and rude somebody could be running THAT late. then again, she was the kind of person to get everywhere at least ten minutes in advance. “well, did they do any effort in reaching out to you? let you know they were gonna be a little late? a text, a call, something?”
