Atlas took a few steps back when Arokh clambered down from his perch and stood beside him. Admittedly, his initial surprise hadn’t quite let him realize that this dragon in particular was - by comparison to Thedas’ high dragons- quite small. That didn’t make him any less intimidating, though, even after his reassuring words. “Oh… cool…” Atlas wasn’t anticipating such a positive response, especially without further questioning. His experiences with dragons had never been positive, though most of them also didn’t talk, “Uh, yeah, it’s no problem. Quick question though. Are you… some kind of god? Or spirit possessing a dragon’s body?” he lacked experience with the latter example, but it didn’t seem impossible. Oddly specific questions? Maybe, but Atlas was endlessly curious.
Well, that’s a uniquely strange question. Arokh pitches his head curiously, rolling the thought back and forth in his mind before coming to a conclusion: Atlas is unfamiliar with the Elder Breed.
Once upon a time, all dragons were as well-versed and civilised as himself, but many became feral and bestial during the time preceding the Dark Wars. His kind had worn scarce, few and far between, and wrest from the spotlight by far larger reptiles.
“I’M RELUCTANT TO ADMIT, I’M NOT,” he replies, with humour. “I AM SIMPLY A DRAGON OF A CERTAIN BREED. IF YOU AREN’T FAMILIAR, THEN WE MUST NOT INHABIT YOUR NATIVE LANDS.”
Growing suspicious once more, Arokh begins to pad a path around Atlas, inspecting him up and down for danger. If he is from a foreign Kingdom of islands, he might be an invader -- a scout, perhaps, sent to eyeball the lay of the land.
“WHERE ARE YOU FROM?”
duelbladed:
Atlas froze when he heard the voice. It was evident without him even turning around that it belonged to something large and likely very displeased to find him in encroaching onto his property. What he wasn’t expecting, though, was a whole ass dragon. “What the hell!?” he immediately dropped what he was holding. The only other time a dragon had ever spoken to him was when it was being possessed by a god- an aggressive god, no less- so the sight wasn’t exactly boding well for him. The fact that Arokh didn’t attack immediately was of some solace, though, but that didn’t mean that Atlas was about to let his guard down. In fact, he was one motion away from drawing his daggers and hightailing it out of there. Sure, he’s slain his fair share of dragons … but not alone. Alone, he was significantly outmatched. “Nobody sent me,” he answered, voice wavering. Despite his best attempts to hold his ground, he was obviously a little nervous, “I… just stumbled in here on accident. I didn’t mean to trespass. Or steal.”
‘Inferior upstart!’ catches at the tip of Arokh’s tongue, a tame sense of reasoning keeping his head level. He lets out a great huff of air from his nose, a snorting sound of forced resignation, and slowly clambers down from his perch to stand at the man’s side.
It becomes apparent that Arokh is quite a small dragon, just taller than a Clydesdale and about as long as two, but he seems no less deadly. His fangs are so plentiful that they skew and protrude from his mouth, and his eyes are incredibly wise.
“I'LL BELIEVE YOU,” he says, in good faith. “IF YOU’LL FORGIVE ME FOR THE FRIGHT. VERY FEW MEN PASS THROUGH HERE, AND EVEN FEWER WITH GOOD INTENTIONS.”
DRAKAN: ORDER OF THE FLAME
The Order was no more, but the Dark Union’s dreams of conquest had been shattered. With the fall of Navaros, the Dark Union’s hold on its monstrous armies collapsed. Chaos spread across the land. Mankind banded once more into many tribes and kingdoms, and the great achievements of the Order of the Flame were forgotten. The dragons, weary at last of the world of men, withdrew into timeless slumber, never again to return. The age without kings had ended. And of that brief golden era, only the legends remain.

Atlas was a simple man. He finds a cave, he does a bit of spelunking! Such was made even more enjoyable when one stumbles upon something of interest… In this case, it was artifacts and scrolls. While Atlas certainly a bit more fond of more shiny treasures, he’d find relics to be useful nonetheless. There was always a lot to learn about the history of Thedas, and uncovering something previously hidden was nothing to complain about. He was sifting through the items, reading through whatever scriptures he could make out, apparently unaware that he wasn’t alone…
Amber cat’s eyes trickle along after the intruder, watching his every move in a measured stalk. Though Arokh is not a dragon of impulsive anger, he is quite possessive, and seeing this man rifle through his things -- Rynn’s things, her scrolls and weapons -- has made him defensive.
His claws catch at the cliff edge, and his maw opens wide in a rumbling, reverberated snarl.
“WHY HAVE YOU COME HERE? WHO SENT YOU?” he demands, in a great lisping growl.

force my muse to talk about a topic they never want to speak of
“WHEN HERON SUCCUMBED TO HIS INJURIES AND DIED, IT SHOOK ME TO MY VERY CORE. AFTER ALL HIS EFFORTS, HIS BRAVERY AND HEROISM, HOW COULD SUCH A MAN HAVE PERISHED? IT WAS NOT FAIR.”
“AND YET, SELFISHLY… AS THE LIGHT FADED FROM MY EYES AND I WAS FORCED INTO AN AGELESS SLUMBER, ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS THAT I HAD LOST A FRIEND.”

does your muse prefer soft, plush textures or smooth and glossy textures?
Arokh is a thickly armoured dragon who cannot feel much change in textures against his hide. Plush materials are feather-light, but nice against his stomach, while smooth textures are more noticeable yet plain. If he were to choose, he would much prefer rougher textures.
🎐?
does your muse like to collect/hoard anything?
Unlike the beasts of lore, Arokh has no interest in gathering and hoarding treasure – instead finding the behaviour quite primitive and not unlike the nature of a magpie. Monetary things like gemstones and gold have no worth in his eyes.
