I have tried a bunch of her recipes and even purchased one of her cook books, Chloe’s Vegan Italian Kitchen, which has never let me down! She was the first vegan to win a cupcake competition and now owns a chain of plant based restaurants in America called by CHLOE. She's totally amazing and doing so much to show people how diverse and delicious vegan food is.
Besides recipes from her cookbook and website I have made these as well and they all turned out great:

Whilst I cannot actually say with good authority what a pig thinks, just as I cannot say what you or any other human thinks, I do know they think. And boy do they think: pigs are without a doubt one of the most intelligent animals I have ever encountered. From what I do know about pigs. I can tell you this: they are self-aware, they reflect on the past, yet live in the present, and they contemplate the future and that future to them does not include becoming pork, ham or bacon. No, those things are again something of our perception of them. Actually, so much of our perception of pigs, is just that, a perception, which more often than not bears little resemblance to reality. I honestly think this speaks to the success, for want of a better word, of the pig meat industry. So many people have this misguided perception that by breeding pigs for human consumption, this somehow circumvents the animals having any emotional world or capacity for fear, pain, suffering or pleasure—that is, if they even consider the lot of pigs at all. Others still take comfort in the perception that pigs are well treated on all farms, and while a small number of farms do go to lengths to ensure the behavioral needs of the pigs are met, all view the animals as a commodity whose life is to be cut short so humans can feed on their flesh. Yet I know, without having ever met all those pigs, that each one of those animals cherishes their life as much as you or I.

If you're thinking about going vegan or just looking for ideas I hope this will be helpful for you! I’m not an expert as far as cooking goes but these are things that I like and recommend having. There are so many wonderful options out there and a ton of stuff you can make easily or in a short amount of time. Just by making simple choices about our purchases we have the power to change what is happening in this world.
(This is mostly cupboard stuff. I buy lots of fruits and veggies too!)

Silken tofu (can be stored at room temp)
~ Always rinse canned beans in a strainer before cooking to aid w digestion. I've been doing this for a while and it helps a bunch!

*The average table sugar contains animal products. There are a ton of clearly labeled vegan sugars in the health food section of most grocery stores though. I usually only use sugars when baking but sometimes a little coconut sugar is nice in a banana smoothie too. I use dates, maple or cacao nibs in or to top banana nice cream! *

Some go-to Beers for me which are available at most places (I live in Ontario): Guinness, Sapporo, Heineken, Corona, Budweiser and bud light, Coors and coors light, Allagash, Anchor, Muskoka
Vegan wine brands in Ontario: Muskoka, Sandbanks (There are more but these are two made locally that I like)
I recently found out that Bailey’s now has a vegan option. It’s a traditional creme liqueur made with almond milk !

🌿I get my soaps, shampoos, masks, scrubs, moisturizers, etc. from LUSH. They have so many vegan options to choose from. They also recycle their plastic pots, make all products by hand, and use fair trade organic ingredients.

A glass of milk, a cup of yogurt, a slice of cheese, all require enormous amounts of violence, exploitation, mutilation, enslavement, theft and murder. None of these products come from happy, willing cows. All of these products can be made from almonds, soy beans, coconuts, cashews and other plants. It’s really a simple choice of compassion, justice and empathy.

✨ vegan art/knitting supplies ✨
I will continue doing research so I can add to this list! If you have any extra recommendations please let me know. Some non-vegan ingredients that might be present in art supplies are rabbit glue, ox-gall, gelatin, bone charcoal (animal bones) and even ground up insects for pigments. I know it can be challenging and sometimes stressful to search for cruelty free and vegan supplies, but it's totally doable! When I first started thinking about all the ways we use animals in our every day lives it made me feel so sad and I was worried that I would have to abandon the things that I love in order to stop supporting violence towards animals.. but that's just not the case at all. I still make art all the time, I have just slowly adjusted what is in my cabinet of materials! I feel much happier now knowing where my materials come from. I hope if anyone else is feeling the same way that I was, that they will find this and it will cheer them up! And hopefully cut out some research time. 😊

🌿 1. Windsor & Newton and Daler-Rowney vegan gouache paints: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlc57rdkLGk Not all of their colors are vegan. I found this great video (link above) and I wrote out a list of the non-vegan colors. Most are plant based though so there are a ton of great options! :) Don’t be discouraged if the list of non-vegan stuff seems long. The list of plant-based paint is longer and has other varieties of every color. Here are the ones to avoid:
Windsor & Newton gouache non-vegan list:
Ivory black Raw sienna Windsor green Spectrum yellow Intense blue Sky blue Light purple Prussian blue Linden green Flame red Burnt umber Bengal rose Primary blue Lamp black Spectrum violet
🎨
Daler-Rowney gouache non-vegan list:
Neutral grey 2 Paynes grey Lamp black Cool grey 1,2,3 Warm grey 1,2,3

🌿2. Vegan art and drawing supplies: http://drawsketch.about.com/od/materials/tp/Vegan-Art-and-Drawing-Supplies.htm
Some papers and pre-made canvases use gelatin, however, there are many plant based alternatives! Fabriano and Yupo are both great options. I am going to do more research on this topic because I love making art and I want to have a big list of things we can use! :D but for now you can check out the link above which has some more info.
🌿 3. Colors of Nature vegan supplies online (mostly paints and pastels) http://www.colorsofnature.com/VeganCrueltyFreeArtSupplies.html
🌿 4. Brushes: A lot of them are made with animal hair, but if you go to an art or craft supply store you should be able to find a range of synthetic ones. If you're interested in DIY projects you could even make some with your own hair and vegan glue like this:
https://store.veganessentials.com/weldbond-vegan-all-purpose-glue-p1511.aspx
Here is a step by step guide. Obviously just ignore the animal product options!
http://m.wikihow.com/Make-a-Paintbrush
🌿 5. Art Noise in Kingston has all of their acrylic paints made locally. I went in recently and was lucky enough to meet one of the paint manufacturers, who told me all about their cruelty free and vegan ingredients. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Highly recommend this place!
Art Noise website: http://www.artnoise.ca/
🌿5. ~ K N I T & C R O C H E T ~
Some people might not be aware of how horrible shearing is for animals. Sheep are bred to grow insane amounts of hair (similar to how chickens are bred to grow really quickly) which can make them extremely uncomfortable. Some of them die from shearing because it's violent, leaving lots of cuts and open sores that lead to infections. Even if they don't die because of shearing, once sheep get older and stop producing as much wool they are sent to slaughter. All of this is completely unnecessary because there are a bunch of other plant based options!
Such as: Hemp yarn, banana silk, cotton yarn, soy silk, acrylic, linen/flax, and bamboo!
I usually get mine from Michaels but I am sure there are others available in your local yarn or craft shop!
🌿 6. Felting:
I recently learned how to felt. It’s such a wonderful, relaxing activity.. and best of all: it can be done cruelty free!
