this isn’t even a revolutionary thought but like. making daniel old in amc iwtv was such a fucking cool and important choice that forces people to deal with their ageism and how much of that is linked to aesthetic beauty. and daniel is beautiful because he has aged. like almost every single other character is years upon years older than him and yet because they look young they move through life forever being seen that way. and now we have a vampire who wasn’t turned as a young adult but has lived a full human life with all the hardships and struggles that come with it and has grown old and sick and jaded but is also experienced and wise and a pro at what he does and only now after he’s spent years coming to terms with his own aging and the decline of his health, is he gifted with vampirism. a thing he thought was only accessible to him when he was young and eager and hopeful. and his maker wouldn’t give it to him then, and louis wouldn’t give it to him then, and if you think for even one second that armand turned him out of spite then you don’t know what it is to have loved someone the way armand has. and armand has loved him, for an entire lifetime, watching him grow and fail and change and begin that death march and still he waits until there’s no other choice, and he’d rather do a thing that makes him sick, that he swore he would never do, and yes it’s selfish in a way because it’s armand who can’t bear to lose him. but it’s also devastatingly poetic because young daniel didn’t deserve to have life taken from him but old daniel has EARNED the right to die with dignity. and armand SHOULD be the one to give it to him because loving daniel meant taking their shared memories, loving daniel meant watching him from the shadows, loving daniel has always meant letting him go. except now. except now. loving daniel means letting him Be.
Eric Bogosian beautiful
Eric Bogosian cutiepie
Eric Bogosian award-winning actor
Eric Bogosian born to play Daniel Molloy
Eric Bogosian I'm about to start biting people in your defense
aight that's it no more tvl reactors for me
just need this here for no reason whatsoever
feeling very normal about s3e4 the most normal i've felt in my life ever the normalest
fuuuuuck ok generational episode but I shouldn't have watched after dark... the doomposters called it, they're fucking killing him fuck my stupid Daniel-pilled life
I kinda get whiplash every time I'm watching/reading an interview with the cast and crew and everyone (even Eric and Assad) refers to Daniel as "Molloy", while to the fandom (even the interviewers, even his haters!) he's always Daniel... why the distancing...
enough doomposting we're passing the fledgling around like a blunt instead
can't believe I'm out here blocking fellow DM-ers with usually great takes and commentary because they are now committed to doomposting about eric and I quite literally cannot take it right now... how did we get here...
I did some math... Daniel was turned in 2022, and he was born in 1953, this means that when he was turned he was 69 years old, so Daniel would be 69 years old forever
Oh Armand, you little shit...
genuinely so funny (painful) to watch tvl reactors sit bored and stone faced through the "I feel him" scene and say at best "huh" about it when I almost tore my partner's arm off when we were watching it. I specifically looked for book-reader reactions too, and STILL nobody gaf
just realized they cut daniel saying "it's vampire rumspringa for danny boy molloy!" from that initial teaser of the restaurant scene... like it was still fire but imagine canonically hearing daniel referring to himself as danny boy...
daniel, every single episode: so blood ammirite guys
ep1 was great
maker/fledgling monogamy is kinda chic idc
if all these lbf coming back hints end up being less about past DM and more about body swapping ebogo into a younger body TotBT-style, you will genuinely see me on the news
