Yes, it's on purpose.

Sting doesn't just want to be like Chrysalis, she wants to be a real changeling.

Sting secretly hates himself for being born a pony and not being able to become a full-fledged part of the swarm.

Sting, being the only pony in the hive, had to constantly seek the respect of the changelings.

Chrysalis never gets involved in the fights of young changelings. She considers it a necessary part of natural selection. Therefore, Sting had to defend himself on his own.

One day, Sting was able to gain the respect of the changelings. When she was able to kill a maulwurf alone thanks to her unusual way of flying. The flight style of the Sting is more similar to a dragonfly than to the flight of an ordinary pegasus.

On the same day, Sting received her cutie mark, reflecting her talent. But because she had never seen a pony, she thought that the cutie mark was some kind of rash or disease.

I have a little headcanon that changelings mature before ponies. By the age of 10, the changeling grows into a fully formed adult.

Is mommy not in the side of the prototype now that she protects candy and now she is on the side of poppy our is mommy in nom of the two sides

I can only answer some of these questions because most of them are spoilers. (And English is not my native language. I apologize in advance for any possible mistakes.)

I think Mommy is just afraid of the Prototype. She's not faithful to him like a Cat Nap. If she made sure that Poppy's allies would be able to protect her and Candy. Then she will easily betray the Prototype.

She gives her the food that was left in the employees' lunch boxes (they were very lucky that the Hour of Joy happened before the lunch break).

AU in which Chrysalis adopted a pony whose parents were killed by timberwolves.

She was given the name Sting and trained as one of the warriors of the hive.

Since she has lived in a hive all her life. Sting behaves like one of the changelings. She often hisses, and sometimes even bites.

Sting loves Chrysalis and considers her his mother. Chrysalis also feels affection for the girl. But she doesn't know how to express her feelings properly. Therefore, Chrysalis's care is limited to advice, guidance and rare praise.

Sting (at the time of these events, she is 16 years old) participated in the attack on Canterlot. But she was captured and sent to Canterlot Prison. So that the princesses could decide her fate.

I think she's at the top level (where Ugway met Po in the finale of the third part). I think that you can get there either if you have achieved enlightenment (like the same Ugway). Or if you did a very noble deed during your lifetime (which is what Po's mom did when she sacrificed herself to save her son)
