LONDON — Back on home turf, the London quartet Mumford & Sons performed to a cheering crowd on the penultimate night of Apple Music Festival this year.
Held at the Roundhouse on Sunday night (Sept 27), the English rock band sang 16 tracks while playing a varied mix of instruments including the banjo, keyboard and tambourine during their 90-minute set.

Lead vocalist Marcus Mumford and band members Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane opened the gig with ‘Snake Eyes’, ‘Believe’ and ‘Wilder Mind’; all new tracks from their newest album Wilder Mind.

The rock group then played clear crowd favourite and much-tweeted track, ‘I Will Wait’, from the band’s second studio album Babel. The night’s setlist also included ‘Lover of the Light’, ‘Thistle & Weeds’ and 2009 hit ‘The Cave’.
For a change of musical pace, the group went unplugged towards the end of the gig for an acoustic performance of ‘Cold Arms’, a track from their new album Wilder Mind.

In between the 90-minute show, the band had also performed a cover of Eurythmics’ hit ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’ with opening act Jack Garratt. The latter had played earlier that night with tracks including ‘Weathered’, as well as a moving cover of Disclosure’s ‘Latch’.

Earlier on, the rock group got fans counting down to their set on Twitter, as they celebrated their return to London.
