There was a well-researched, well-written article posted yesterday by Adweek entitled Marketers' New Tactics in the Food Label Wars: Health takes a backseat by David Gianatasio. The best part of the article for me was the photos!
The article credits the photos to Vasava; Soechtig; Jason Merritt/Getty Images. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find them on Getty Images because I would really like to see more of their work!

Social media spheres are in an uproar over editor Anna Wintour's decision to have Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on the cover of iconic Vogue magazine.
In a statement, Anna Wintour said:
"Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it," Wintour, 64, wrote. "I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)”
"As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue's cover. He did nothing of the sort," she explained. "The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't true."
Does the magazine cover lift and validate the couple's celebrity status, or does it diminish the value of the magazine?

"Executives at Target Corp. say they will spend next year trying to reshape the habits of Canadian shoppers who have soured to the company’s rollout north of the border."
I disagree with their rationale that Canadians are not used to one-stop shopping. If that were true, Walmart would not have found success here. Target needs to reevaluate what it offers Canadians and how Target offers it. Give us good products and good prices. We don’t need super-size jars of cheesy puff balls.

Kids React to Controversial Cheerios Commercial
A month ago, General Mill's produced the commercial "Just Checking" promoting Cheerios as a heart-healthy cereal, and featured an interracial couple and their bi-racial daughter. A new application of bone conduction audio technology will transmit high frequency audio ads (which are otherwise inaudible to human ears) when the sleepy passenger's head makes contact with the train window.

Absolutely brilliant!! This public safety message from Australia's Metro Trains to promote safety around trains features a catchy tune set to hysterical animation. Created by the ad agency McCann (Melbourne), it won Film Grand Prix, Film Gold, Film Craft Gold at Cannes.
