Saiki’s not too big on working together, but he’s definitely capable of being a team player. He’ll be sure to pull his weight no matter what. How he ended up in this group, though, is a complete mystery. Much like his relationships back home, he seems to have just sort of fallen into place here.
He flips to a clean page on his notepad. Thank God he picked this up; communication would be nearly impossible otherwise. Interpretive dance really hadn’t been working for him.
“Saiki,” he writes. “That works.”
“Fate Harlaown,” she introduced herself politely. It was a relief that they seemed to be in agreement over the names. She had little time to get to know anyone. And with the amount of people in the city, there was bound to be those who would not cooperate. Thus far, this team seemed to be stable. Elesis and Saiki were still strangers, but this would be a chance to form alliances hopefully.
She turned to Central, knowing the woman would take charge thus being to call out to Ofiuco to receive their materials, “Shall we begin?”
“Well then, Miss Elesis, Mister Saiki, and Miss Harlaown, it is a pleasure to be working with all of you. As long as you trust in your abilities and in my leadership, I promise that things shall go swimmingly for all of us.”
Still, Central didn’t enjoy the fact she would have to be working with three unknowns. Though she might have some familiarity with Fate, it still wasn’t enough for Central to make her opinion. And that simply meant she was putting her trust in people who could possibly not be up to her standards.
Well, at least for now, standards were lax. Setting up a beacon shouldn’t be more difficult than it could possibly be. “And yes, unless any of you have any reservations, Team Invisible is now officially in business.” As Central finished speaking, the group would receive the beacon kit in question. Taking the device in hand, Central knew there would be no turning back now.
“Alright! Team Invisible is gonna show these guys what real teamwork looks like!”
Some part of her shared Central’s unspoken reservations about the others. Aside from having briefly run into Saiki some time ago, she didn’t really know any of these people, nor had any idea what they were capable of. But that was fine! She’d worked with less before, and as long as they were willing to give it their best, they’d certainly see results. Besides, dividing their efforts appropriately wasn’t her job this time. All she needed to focus on for now was following any instructions given to her.
“So what’s our first order of business, then?” she asked, eyeing the beacon device with interest. If there was only one, how was this going to work? Maybe they would need to secure the areas as a team so whoever had the device could get where they needed to set up a beacon? Though she sweeps her eyes around the rest of the group, her attention- and question -is mostly directed at Central.
