Stella grit her teeth as she ran at the person, super speed carrying her faster than normal. She hooked one arm around his stomach as she reached him, tugging him out of the way as a monster slammed its fist right where he had been a moment before. She didn’t stop, instead using up the time she had to get as close to a safe zone as possible.

As her time ran out she slowed, feet skidding across the ground and leaving marks as she eventually came to a stop and put the boy down.

Being here was making her restless. Trying to get the condo she’d been assigned cleaned up to some degree had been sufficient distraction for all of about half an hour, but with no real tools to facilitate any significant sort of repairs, she’d been forced to give up for the time being. She wasn’t sure what she expected to find, setting back out onto the streets to pick her way through the less heavily destroyed sections of the ward, but anything was better than nothing. Better than just waiting around.

She’s not sure how far out she wanders, losing track weaving through the destroyed city and past the almost robotic people occasionally performing work like some kind of routine. That Saiki stands out so obviously from them is what catches her attention when she comes across him, and she wastes no time in making her presence known.

“Hey, you! Hold on a minute!” she calls loudly, waving him down as she cuts around the rubble to where he’d been. Aside from the brief glimpse she’d gotten of others being shepherded into vehicles around that giant hole, he’s the first seemingly real person she’s seen all day today. Provided he doesn’t run- and honestly, maybe even if he does -she’s determined to catch up to him.

He's done this a million times before. But never like this, though. I mean... electricity? Water? It's a real, actual city, and not a village, or a base, or even a ruined semblance of what once might have maybe been a city. The place was a safe haven, and he couldn’t tell how he was being fooled.

Still, it's obviously in his best interests to play cautious about it. The strategy was tried and true, and he didn’t want to accidentally get himself killed and end up back in some normal island with little more than rabbits and sticks to keep himself entertained, or god forbid, back into his cage.

Of course, all his learned caution went straight out of the window as soon as his city-born curiosity rose back up and he saw someone who looked terribly interesting.

Wes, impulsively, leaned close to Saiki, looking thoughtful about his interesting choice of headpiece and eyewear and flashy hairstyle. The mime gave a cheery, theatrical wave, an interested smile upon his painted face.
