@Centralcxmmand: Past of the Endless Sorcerer
ingoldententâ:
@centralcxmmand
He heard a name that made his blood freeze in place. Right there, in the middle of a supermarket, Battler was having what seemed to be a fĂąashback episode.
âŚâŚThere should be no reason for that name to be uttered. That person has been long gone from his life, an apparent casualty of the previous gameboardâs destruction. He looks around, a bottle of maple syrup in hands, as if he were an impala scouting for a lion.
And then he sees the probable source of the word. A mid aged woman, older than any of his aunts apparently. He is probably staring at her in a rather disturbing manner, but he doesnât care. It takes him a couple seconds to manage to open his mouth, which is so dry right nowâŚ.
âDid⌠Did you just say⌠âShalemâ?â
It had just been a simple remark. A sort of idle moment of speaking out loud. Being stuck in this city, it had made her think of what had happened to all her agents, from those that had managed to stick with her after the raid, and those that she did was uncertain of their fate.
And just for a moment when she was wondering what happened to Shalem while she was busy looking at some apricots. Though it seemed that her attempt at keeping her voice down was unsuccessful, seeing as someone had said something.
Something about Shalem.
â... Yes. I did. Was there something to it in how I said it?â
goldenlessâ:
âAaaah, so hot⌠Hey, you! Do you have any water?â A beautiful flower such as her shouldnât wilt like this right?
â... Have you considered actually not standing out in the sun? I hear that works wonders in avoiding overheating,â Central scoffed, and notably with no water at all. Hardly helping the situation at all, here.
roseumperorâ:
( âż ) Suspicions would only arise if she continues to say nothing, so while she is somewhat hesitant to emperor would build the willpower to provide an answer. âNo, no.â Tapping her finger against the tree trunk makes the uneasiness of her nerves visible, till she settles it with a hand coming over and stopping the motion. It forces her to take a deep breath as to soothe spirit, and perhaps dismiss any thoughts other may have.
â..I simply enjoyed the performances, is all.â A thought comes to her mind to serve as her alibi should other ask, but for now she continues with her own performance. âArt as it is, is something truly wondrous in how it weaves emotions, and how it integrates with the mind so seamlessly.â Portray the idea that her own was affected, and thus explain why her current condition was shaky.
ââDonât you agree? Or did you come simply for the view?â Deflecting attention from herself wasnât a common tactic, but necessary for her now.
Finally getting a better look at the strange woman, Central admitted that out of everyone sheâs met so far, this woman definitely looks... eccentric. Or more appropriately outlandish. Still, she didnât consider it her job to critique attire, even if she did have her own opinions regarding trench coats and fedoras, so she simply kept those thoughts to herself.
âWondrous, perhaps. Though honestly, who has the time to spend sitting around watching some people perform on the stage? There always seems to be something more important that needs to be done.â Central scoffed as she locked her hands together. âAll that idle time just feels so wasteful...â
At least Central felt that it was wasteful.
roseumperorâ:
( âż ) What is done in the shadows will eventually come to light. Hiding something or the act of hiding itself is never an indication of anything good, but how else was the emperor to enjoy the area? The open Theatre of Calliope was a breath taking sight and itâs performances relating to the arts could not appeal more to woman, and yet they were restricted from her forcing the servant to resort to methods somewhat beneath her.
How was she to know her repeated performances were frowned upon? Being tossed from and denied a return stung her at first, but even emperorâs pride could not overlook such a grand stage. The very landscape and scenery it provided rivaled the one of her own personal theater, and as if to make matters worse the other artists often in attendance were admittedly of a similar quality to herself. If only she could enjoy them comfortably in one of the seats, but alas she must remain behind trees and other plants to conceal presence lest she be tossed again. Though it would appear as if her fears had manifested, as she hears a voice calling to her. Panic sets in as her face redden, her body remaining absolutely still.
Maybe if she doesnât move, they would go away?
@centralcxmmand
If there was one thing that Central could not deny about the city she was trapped it, it was that the city did have quite the breath taking views. Even if she did make sure to keep her mind focused on the big picture, the old woman was still able to appreciate her surroundings. And the marvelous open air air theatre of the Archimedes Ward was no different.
Yet it seemed that there had been quite a bit of fuss as of late. Something about someone hogging the stage that they had to be kicked out. Although Central wasnât much of a theatre-goer, she had to admit that whoever had to be removed from such a way definitely had to have something up.
Of course, when thereâs a strange person standing stock still amid a bunch of trees and grasses... there isnât much to do but simply stare. After recomposing herself, Central had only one thing that she was able to say.
â... Is there something the matter?â
sanguine-princessâ:
âUghâŚ..â She still persisted, how unsightly to pester others in such manner. The Vampire reluctantly turned, her gazed filled with contempt. âTchâŚ..you really are stubborn grandmaâŚ.â The sight of her wrinkled skin irked her, enough to crave one of her blood baths.
âYou dare speak of rudeness and yet you know not to whom you speak, the mere act of addressing me is rudeness in it of itself!â Her dignified voice echoed through the forest, now that she was forced to address the woman a mere apology wouldnât do. Eyes glint with hostility as she contemplated what sweet torment she would bring upon the other and yet, no inspiration would come.
âHmphâŚâŚare you even worth the effort I wonderâŚ.â
@centralcxmmand
âWell then why donât you introduce yourself then? Surely someone who carries themselves so highly ought to tell me who they are?â Central scoffed as she kept her distance. âYou seem to be quite intent on your importance.â
Still, Central wanted to play things as cautiously as she could. She was unsure of just what this woman could do. Maybe she was just some haughty woman who was really certain she was important. Or maybe she was actually someone important.
âSo, are you going to tell me who you are?â
sinfonietteâ:
@centralcxmmand
   âNow what could you be up to all the way up here, I wonder?â      Options were limited, really, and she was certain both she and the older woman knew it. Of course, her feigned ignorance was an easily discovered ruse, especially given the look on her face. Even so, she remains in her pose, bent forward just over the otherâs shoulders, hands clasped behind her back and eyes locked on the horizon.      Or rather, the space where the otherâs attention had been, moments earlier.
     âIsnât it a little rude to be peeking in on people without introducing yourself? It seems a little sketchy if theyâre unaware, donât you think?â The nonchalant expression on her face remains, though her tone shifts a bit toward something that in anyone else might be mischievousness. âShould I get their attention for you?â
The worst possible thing for espionage wasnât simply being caught. It was being caught by someone you werenât anticipating. Those kind of outcomes lead only to issues, throwing out all sort of planning and the like to the wind. Normally, Central would have had many a plan to deal with such an issue, but this city wasnât a normal situation at all.
So Central simply tried to fake the best smile she could.
âPeeking on people? Certainly you must be mistaken, miss,â Central answered, feigning as much ignorance as she could muster. âWhat would I need to peek on people for? I was just simply taking in the surroundings.â

she picks up on the second ringâlag ensures that thereâs a few moments of silence before the commotion on AR-15â˛s end of the line is audible, and itâs just enough for the t-doll to catch those final traces of her employerâs words.
âworried about me, boss?â her voice is chipper, almost deceivingly so; under ordinary circumstances, maybe the sound of gunfire and shouting behind it could be mistaken as a movie on in the background. for anyone aware of the events currently unfolding in golden ward, though, the cause should be clear. without missing a beat, she takes down another white balloon before adjusting the receiver. âiâm a bit busy right now, but whatâs up?â
The sound of AR-15â˛s voice put at least some degree of relief for Central, even if it was clear there was still some sense of urgency. Holding to her phone tightly, Central began pacing around, her mind moving as quickly as it possibly could.
âWell of course I would be worried about an employee of mine,â Central responded, her voice as cool as usual. âIf something were to happen to you, then Iâd have to find someone to fill another vacancy. Still, where are you? ... Donât tell me youâre in the golden ward, Star.â
lastvesselâ:
Lacing her fingers together, she listened to the older woman. As much as she was dismayed at her young appearance at times, in a place like this it seemed useful. Everyone around her viewed her as a child, and were more inclined to both answer questions and treat her kindly.
It truly was a benefit.
âOf course!â
âIâve never visited a place like this before. This is my first time away from home for more than a little whileâŚAh..â
âItâll be so fun when it opens up! Probably in a few monthsâŚThatâs when Spring is, right?â
There just seemed to be something off with this young child. If mostly for the fact that she was alone. So many unattended children in this city just didnât sit well with her. Especially with how dangerous it could become here and there.
âA shame your first time away from home must be the result of you ending up somewhere strange instead of taking a plane down to the Bahamas.â Central responded as she stared at the young girl. âIâll admit itâs been a long time since Iâve been to anything like this. Iâm not sure if I would consider it fun, but you might. In Spring. Who knows if itâll be a few months or maybe itâll never open. I honestly donât know if this place ever opens or not.â
rainfectâ:
eyes still, breath stops entirely, and for a brief moment, AR-15 stares into space. one, then two seconds elapse, until: âbeep⌠boop⌠i⌠am a human⌠bzzt.â with speech stilted and tonality near-nonexistent, sheâs managed what might just be the worst possible âactingâ everâbut when she breaks out into a grin, itâs clear thatâd been purposefully bad.
olivia seems to be in poor spirits, though the reason why isnât something that AR-15 knows enough to grasp for now. but if nothing else, she can keep the mood lighter this way; knowing this woman, after all, itâll be near-impossible to pry the truth from her if she doesnât feel like divulging it willingly.
âwhatâs up with this city, huh⌠â she turns the thought over for a few moments, expression unreadable, until a nod is finally visible. âyeah. iâm in, then.â and just like that, the decision is made. âi keep feeling like iâm getting too complacent with how things are, soâthis is probably just what i need, to be honest.â
âYes, yes, your humor is quite spot on isnât it. Wonder if thatâs something you were programmed with or something you learned to do. Either option intrigues me either way.â Central responded, her tone unchanging despite what Star did. Or perhaps the slightly twinge of her lips told otherwise.
âComplacency... itâs probably what our captors are using to get us to lower our guard. Feel that things are normal, then hit us with all sorts of strange antics. No doubt the average person would love to stick to that sense of normalcy that there might be, but this whole situation just cannot be ignored. But yes, Iâm glad to have you on my side on this. Iâm afraid Iâve become at a loss of what to do lately.â
sanpatronâ:
â Ah, so youâre the commanding type, huh? No good people around to help? I see. â He pauses for a moment. â Sucks to suck then. Guess weâre all stuck here with each other. â And out comes a laugh. Now the Boss isnât the type to doubt the possibility of getting back at everyoneâs captors, but it was sure as shit gonna take a helluva lot then whatever this woman or practically anyone on this island might be planning. â Might as well make the most of it and keep yourself busy. â
âMaking the most of it and keeping busy means trying to figure out what to make do with the limited resources I currently have. If I had just half of what I normally used, I could probably get to the bottom of this. Unfortunately our captors probably know this, and thus have deprived me of anything of the sort.â Central sighed as she rubbed her forehead. âThis is the worst off Iâve been in a long time. And Iâve been through some very difficult moments in my life.â
sanpatronâ:
â Well alright then. Since youâve nominated yourself as the most competent on the island answer me this; how do you propose we deal with that little predicament? Surely since youâre the only here who apparently grasps the sheer magnitude of the situation weâre in you definitely have to have at least some kind of plan, right? â
âI wouldnât say I nominated myself for the position, though I wonât deny that I have the skills crucial in figuring this entire predicament of ours out. Of course the issue is that such a plan that I do have cannot be so easily enacted in my current state. Normally Iâd have people of a certain skill set assisting me advance such a plan. However... I fear that such a skill set is... rare in the population we have here.â
mewnipendentâ:
đ˘tar simply snickered at the womanâs response before placing her hands on her hips with a sneaky grin. It was honestly becoming rather entertaining annoying this poor womanâ maybe if Star pushed her hard enough, she would do something super amazing. There was no way, with her appearance and disposition, that she wasnât hiding something awesomeâ maybe she was like⌠a queen or something. Star had learned that human royalty donât display facial markings due to the magic, so, they could literally be hiding in plain sight!
â Oh come on, without me here, youâll just be sulking, bored, and probably sad. â
Star crossed her arms once again, ending with a playful tilt of the head. She figured it was true; just by looking at this woman, Star deduced that she probably had little to no friends and could probably use the companionship. Maybe then she could crack a smile or something⌠Star suddenly pondered if the lady knew how to smileâŚ
â You look like you could use some serious fun, wanna go blow stuff up? â
At that, the girlâs hands balled into fists, giving off a faint pink glow; now that was an idea!
âIf that what you consider sad, then Iâd take that over whatever you have in mind.â
Central scoffed at that remark, finding it utterly ridiculous idea that this youth might have. She honestly looked like she should be in school than wandering around unattended. And with all that magic? That was even more of a danger.
A danger that Central realized that Star was again planning on something.
â... Is property the damage really your idea of fun?â Central responded, raising an eyebrow in confusion. âNow I really would rather be bored than do what you consider any sort of form of entertainment.â
sanpatronâ:
â Hell if I know. I really donât give a damn whether itâs petty or not. But hey, if you think we should all be using that energy for something better, then what would you propose that âsomethingâ would be? â
âOh I wouldnât know, maybe something along the lines on dealing with the fact weâre stuck here? I mean I understand that some people might not realize how important that is, but really, anything besides pointless bickering seems to be more productive.â
sanpatronâ:
â Just cause some people act immature doesnât mean they arenât sensible. If it ainât causing any real harm then I see no reason to complain. â
âPerhaps not, but doesnât it seem all so... petty? Weâre dealing with something more important than immaturity. Shouldnât such energy be better put into something less... pointless?â
âIs immaturity just a natural occurrence in this city? I feel like Iâm the only sensible person in this entire city now. And that concerns me. Greatly.â
@rainfect event starter
The oddities occurring in the city had brought yet another disruption on what Central was hoping would be considered the status quo. Yet seeing just how often these strange events were occurring, she was beginning to concede that all these wild events were a norm that couldnât be predicted. It was unsettling, worrisome and a pain to deal with.
Still, she at least could hopefully rely on someone else to at least try to get to the bottom of what was happening. A keen distrust on any sense of authority gave her all the reason to at least give someone a call. With a quick tap on her cellphone, Central sent out a call to the one person she hoped would be able to assist her.
âI hope you answer this, Star...â Central muttered to herself as she leaned back in the bench she was sitting on. âAnd I hope youâre okay as well...â
